Wanda Lorene Saunders, 83, of Jamestown, KY, passed away on Thur. Jan 14, 2016 at her residence.
Lorene was born in Lawrence Co., OH, on March 10, 1932.
She was a dedicated mother and Christian. She was an active member of the Jamestown First Baptist Church and a previous member of the Perkins Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. She most enjoyed serving others. She was a beautician early in her career and later worked for the Community Action Agency in Burlington, OH, before moving to Jamestown, KY in 2001. She continued to enjoy working outdoors in her garden as late as November 2015.
Lorene is survived by three daughters Denise (Rus) Putzke, of Santa Cruz, CA; Dianne (Bob) Whitten, of Cincinnati, OH; Mary Ann (Joe) Rothman, of St. Louis, MO; a son Phil (Brenda) Saunders, of Jamestown, KY.; three grandchildren Clarence Cundiff, Andy Whitten (Megan Kanagy), Bethany Whitten.; four great grandchildren Shel and Will Cundiff, Noelle and Lucas Durbin.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Vance J. Saunders, two sisters Maxine Carpenter, and Helen Marie Dunfee.
Funeral Services for Lorene Saunders will be Mon. Jan 18th, 11:00am at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, in Jamestown, KY with Bro. Scott Russell officiating.
Friends may visit on Sun. Jan. 17th, after 5:00pm at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Perkins Ridge Cemetery, on Tue. Jan 19th, 2:00pm in Scottown, OH.
