Joy Lee DeWitt of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Lee Mann and GeorgeAnn Howard Mann, was born April 3, 1924, in Breathitt County, Kentucky. She died at 12:12 A.M., Thursday, April 28, 2016 in Louisville. Age: 92

She professed faith in Christ and was of the Holiness Church.
She united in marriage to James E. DeWitt January 26, 1946 and he preceded her in death November 29, 1992.

She is survived by one son, James Richard DeWitt and special friend, Betty Scott of Campbellsville; three granddaughters: Jackie Ada DeWitt Pandeya and husband, Virag of Munfordville, Josie Rose DeWitt Johnson and husband, Zachery, of Greensburg and Janie Shannon Pike and husband, Roger of Campbellsville; five great-grandchildren: Katie Lobb, Todd Pike, Jordan Wright, Landon Pike and Amar Pandeya; two great-great-grandchildren: Dawson Lobb and Dalton Pike; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters: Sherman Mann, Bill Mann, Keenis Mann, Gobel Mann, Joseph Mann, Safronie Mann, Cindy Coaliron, Julie Mosley, Rainy Mosley and Laurie Conley.

Patricia Louise Miller, age 68, of Somerset, KY, departed this life on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehab Center.

Patricia was born on July 14, 1947 in Somerset, KY, to the late Lowell and Mildred Rose Vaughn. 

She is survived by three sons, James (and Brenda) Johnson of Tupalo, MS, Kenneth Johnson of Rock Hill, NC, and Elzie Moore of Somerset, KY; two daughters, Peggy Dozier of Washington, GA, and Margie (and Keith) Boutillier of Somerset, KY; three brothers, Michael (and Sandy) Vaughn of Indianapolis, IN; Johnny (and Sabrina) Vaughn of Somerset, KY; and Dallas Raughton of Somerset, KY; and eleven grandchildren, Marsha, William, Anthony, Wesley, Benjamin, Isaac, Kaylen, Kenlee, Kyla, Kyndel, Lyndsey, Dacoda, and Joseph.

Along with her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila M. Johnson.

Visitatio

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Larry Merritt officiating. Burial will be at Clay Hill Cemetery.

Joshua Kyle Eastridge of Louisville, son of Ronnie Eastridge and Darlene Romine Eastridge, was born October 31, 1980 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 
8:10 P.M., Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in Lexington. Age: 35

He professed faith in Christ at age 12 and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Campbellsville.
He worked in the health care industry.

Besides his parents, Ronnie and Dr. Darlene Eastridge of Campbellsville, he is survived by one sister, Dana Clements-Milby of Smyrna, Tennessee; one nephew, Brennan Mattingly of Greensburg; his beloved dog, Pepper; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bob and Vaniel Romine and paternal grandparents Coy and Opal Eastridge.

William M. “Doy” Harden, 75, of Campbellsville, son of the late Albert “Dan” Harden and Mandy Susan Tungate Harden, was born February 11, 1941, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 7:36 A.M., Thursday, April 28, 2016 at his home after a battle with cancer

He professed faith in Christ at a young age and attended Farmer’s Chapel Church of God. 
He graduated from Taylor County High School in 1959.

His work career included over forty-five years in road construction and site work for Holderman Construction, Geupel Construction, Hinkle Construction and Adams Contracting. He worked in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Alabama and Tennessee.

He enjoyed woodworking and fixing up old fiddles and other musical instruments as a hobby.
He united in marriage to Evelyn Darlene Norman Wilson and they enjoyed forty-six years together.

Besides his wife, Darlene Harden of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and two daughters: Bill Harden and wife, Michele and Karen Cline and husband, Mark of Mansfield, Ohio and Jenny Allen and husband, Lee of Campbellsville; one step-daughter, Connie Wilson and husband, Jim Whitaker of Florence; twelve grandchildren: John Cline and wife, Emily, Julie Deel and fiance, Jeff Davis, Michael Cline and wife, Courtney, Katie Cline, Billy Harden, Erin Harden, Gregory Harden, Logan Wilson, Samantha Whitaker, Blake Harden, Zechariah Morris and Bristol Harden; ten great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister: Lannie Harden and Sue Weatherford and husband, R. H. of Campbellsville; nine nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by two sons: Doyan Harden in infancy and Eric Harden; a grandson, Justin Deel; two step-sons: Scott Wilson and Greg Wilson and one brother, Leonard Harden.

Joseph Edgar “Ed” Browning Jr., Age 85, of Lebanon passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at his residence. He was born on March 01, 1931. Mr. Browning was a United States Navy Veteran and a retired salesman for Lebanon Whole Sale. He was also a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church. 

He is preceded in death by: Parents: Joseph Edgar Browning Sr. and Ethel Mattingly Browning. Brother: John Browning. Four Sisters: Rita Browning, Grace Brady, Gladys Mattingly, Margaret Ledwell. 

He is survived by: Wife of 59 Years: Aileen Murphy Browning—Lebanon, KY. Son: Joseph Brian Browning—Lebanon, KY. Two Daughters: Jennifer (Joseph Earl) Thompson—Lebanon, KY; Jill Marie Browning—Winchester, KY. Four Grandchildren: Nicole Browning, Dylan Browning, Paige Thompson, Murphy Thompson Three Brothers: Sam Browning—Lebanon, KY; Ben Browning—Bowling Green, KY; Mike Browning—Louisville, KY. Sister: Nancy Osborne—Louisville, KY. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 29, 2016 at the St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery, Military Honors will be conducted by the Marion County Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:30 P.M. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Bosley Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at Bosley Funeral Home at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, officiated by Deacon Joe Dant.

Christine Watts Harper

Mrs. Christine Watts Harper of Richmond, Kentucky, formerly of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ira Sidney Watts and Viola Hay Watts, was born on October 18, 1927 in Winchester, Kentucky, and departed this life on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Madison Health & Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. She was 88 years, six months, and eight days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville United Methodist Church. She was also a former Secretary for Georgetown College.
She united in marriage to Richard H. Harper who preceded her in death on October 17, 2008.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law: Fran Stevens Sprow of Campbellsville; her grandchildren: Robert Gerald Stevens of Georgetown, Christina and John Turpen of Indiana, Martha and Chris Brown of Mississippi, and Hunter and John Whitaker of Lexington; great-grandchildren: Carter Turpen, Savannah Turpen, Briley Brown, Eeagan Brown, Koen Brown, Lyla Kate Brown, and Rose Whitaker; two sisters: Ruth Callery of Covington, and Louise Witt of Winchester; a sister-in-law: Mary Watts of Florida; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Harper was also preceded in death by a son: Robert Dale Stevens on September 2, 1995; two sisters and a brother: Gladene Haggard, Geneva Warnock, and Ira Watts.

The funeral services for Mrs. Christine Watts Harper will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Kevin Brantley officiating.
Visitation is requested after 9 A.M., Central Time, Saturday at the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church until time of the funeral service.
Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, Kentucky are in charge of the funeral arrangements.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Disabled American Veterans, which can be made at the church or the funeral home.

Mary Josephine Hill, age 90 of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at her daughter’s residence in Bardstown. 

She was born April 19, 1926 in Washington County. She was a former homemaker and lunchroom attendant at Washington County Public Schools; an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Manton; a beloved mother with a giving heart, timelessly visiting the sick and homebound; she enjoyed quilting, attending auctions and spending time with family. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Raymond Hill; her parents, Emmett Marcellus and Frances Carrie Newton Hill; two sisters, Marilyn Jean Hill and Sr. Theresina Greenwell; two brothers, J.T. and Junie Greenwell. 

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Reed (Tommy), Frieda Hutchins (Bruce) and Michelle Boren all of Bardstown; nine sons, Mike Hill (Carol), Frankie Hill (Sherry), Martin Hill (Sharon) all of Bardstown, Ronnie Hill (Pam), Freddie Hill, Bobby (Colette) and Bill Hill all of Springfield, Johnny Hill (Lillie) and Dave Hill (Debra) all of Loretto; two sisters, Marilyn Jean Hill of Louisville and Mary Ursula Wagner of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania; 39 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two on the way; one great-great granddaughter.
 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, April 29, 2016 at Saint Rose Priory Church; 868 Loretto Road, Springfield. The Revs. Kevin McGrath and Matt Hardesty will concelebrate. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery of Manton. 
Visitation is 3-8 PM Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service 7 PM Thursday by The Rev. Matt Hardesty.

Janice F. Wooldridge, 72, of Russell Springs, Kentucky, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at 9:12 P.M. at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset. 

She was born August 29, 1943, in Creelsboro, Kentucky, to the late Carl and Eula Margaret Shearer Flatt.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings; Clayton & Cora Maude Flatt. 

Janice was a licensed LPN and worked at Summit Manor Nursing Home for 40 years. 

Survivors include: 
One son – Anthony (Amanda) Wooldridge of Lawrenceburg
Two daughters – Alisa (Jim) Ware of Indianapolis and Kelly Smith of Breeding 
Two grandchildren – Jacob Ware and Ashley Wildrick 
One great-grandchild – Julie Ware 
Her “fur babies” – Toby, Moochie, Thumper, Little Sam, Sadie Jane and Sprinkles 
Several other relatives and friends 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Grissom-Martin Funeral Home

Wallace K. Polston

Wallace K. Polston, age 69, passed away on April 24, 2016 after a short battle with brain cancer. Wally, son of the late Carley and Mary (Davis) Polston, was born in Adair County, KY on October 29, 1946.

He grew up on a 350+ acre farm in Adair County, KY where he helped the family in planting and harvesting tobacco, corn, and hay. He also helped run the farm's dairy. This is where he learned his hard work ethic. Wally graduated from Adair County High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968  in Chu Lai, Vietnam where he was a Sergeant E-5 in the 132nd Assault Support Helicopter Company. Wally was employed by American Roller Company for over 37 years where he worked up the ladder and earned many titles including Lab Supervisor, Product Manager, and Converting Products Technical Manager. He enjoyed his work and was awarded a U.S. Patent for a Pelletizer Feed Roller used in the plastic industry. Wally also was instrumental in the development of a roller configuration used for the M&M Mars Company and also the pharmaceutical industry. In 1983 while working at American Roller Company he met the love of his life, Donna Hansen, and they spent 33 years together. They enjoyed traveling and visiting with their children and their families. Wally loved watching all sports and was an enthusiastic fan of the Green Bay Packers.  He had a passion for working in the yard and gardening. Wally enjoyed cooking and canning different jams and jellies and was famous for his salsa. Over the years he enjoyed playing golf, pool, and cards. Wally was a member of the North Cape Lutheran Church in Franksville, WI and post 7924 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. 


He is survived by his wife, Donna (Hansen) Polston and his children Angela Johnson, Tracy (Shawn) Wurzer, stepchildren, Karen (Bob) Benson, Amy (Tom) Mlot, and Thomas (Katie) Hansen. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rachelle, Gabrielle, and Benjamin Johnson, Kayleigh (Martin) McGee, Connor and Carter Benson, Jacob, Madelyn, and Olivia Hansen, Liam and Rowan Mlot. Also surviving are two sisters, Della Rae Montgomery  and Carol (Eugene) Cowan, and one brother, Willard (Faye) Polston. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Elaine Hansen, sister-in-law, Diane (Ron) Welch, brother-in-law, Peter (Nancy) Hansen, sister-in-law, Peggy (Chuck) Svoboda, brother-in-law, Dan (Peggy) Hansen, and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, William, Kirby, Keith, Kenneth and Joe Preston, three sisters Anna Yarberry, Arlene Miller and Phyllis Fudge.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center and the staff on the Palliative Care Unit including Dianna, Patty, and Mary Beth in OT.  


Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 at NORTH CAPE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2644 124th St (Hwy 45 & W. Five Mile Rd), from 10am until the time of memorial service at Noon.  The Rev. Bradley Brown officiating.  Private interment at Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials to North Cape Lutheran Church appreciated.

Lertie O. Conner, 98, of Jamestown, KY, passed away Saturday April 23rd, at T.J, Columbia Hospital, in Columbia, KY.

Lertie was born in Jamestown, KY on Jan. 2, 1918, a daughter of the late Louetta (Guffey) and William Dudley Conner.

Lertie is survived by a daughter Kathy (Jerry) Garmon, of Columbia, KY;
a son Phillip (Joyce) Conner, of Albany, KY;
6 grandchildren: Sharon Rector, Shane (Missy) Garmon, Susan (Keith) Anderson, Mia Conner (Edward Boll,III), Brandi Garmon-Compton, and Jessica (John) Capps.
9 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren also survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Merrell Conner, daughter Peggy Sue Conner, 3 sisters Dollie Grider, Ellen Upchurch, and Goldice Graves, 7 brothers Warner, Dudley Oliver, Robert, Sam, Joe, George, and Herbert Conner.

Funeral Services for Lertie Conner will be Thur. 12noon at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, in Jamestown, KY with Bro. Bobby Conner and Bro. David Coffey officating.
Friends may visit after 5:00pm on Wed. at the funeral home.
Burial in the Jamestown City Cemetery, Jamestown, KY.
