Loyd Stephen Smith, age 75 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Monroe County Medical Center. Loyd was born on July 05, 1946 in Cumberland County, KY  to the late Edd and Ree Philpott Smith.  He was a retired farmer and sawmill worker and member of Judio Church of Christ. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Brookie "Claudette" Brewington and two sisters.


Survivors include:
One son - Shannon Smith (Wilma) of Burkesville, KY
Two grandsons - Tyler Smith of Burkesville, KY and Justin Harper of Summer Shade, KY
Two great-grandsons - Colby and Marshall Harper of Marshall, IN
One sister - Mary Dunbar of Orlando, FL
Sister-in-law - Holli Scott (Charles) of Burkesville, KY
Brother-in-law - Tommy Adams of Indiana
One niece - Sara Killman of Burkesville, KY
Two nephews - Greg Key and Will Scott both of Burkesville, KY
Special relative - Jim Brewington 
and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews

Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St, Burkesville, KY with cremation to follow.  Visitation on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.

​Harold Dean Nix, 81, of Bridgeview, IL died Monday, November 29, 2021 in Chicago, IL.  Born September 19, 1940 in McDowell County, NC to the late Frank and Callie Geneva (Davidson) Nix.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Loy), his son, Brian Scott, his siblings: five brothers Virgil, Dan, Lawrence, Don, and Mike Nix, and two sisters Lois Nix and Mary McCloud.
 
He is survived by his daughter, Candace and son-in-law Inocencio “Chato” Prado;  grandson Brandan; granddaughter Alyce, and great granddaughters Amelia and Aliza. 
 
Dean followed the great migration north in his late teens to Boston, and later on to Chicago looking for work. He built his life and family in Chicago, but always loved returning “down home” to visit.  He was most proud of his family and the many travels he experienced in his lifetime. 
 
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, December 3, 2021 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Loy Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday after 10:00am at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Rena C. Woodruff, 74, of Jamestown, KY, passed away Monday, November 29th, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY. 

Rena was born in Science Hill, KY on April 10, 1947. 

She worked as a secretary before retirement. 

Rena is survived by 
husband, Dan Woodruff, of Jamestown, KY 
a daughter, Tressia (Didi), wife of Brandon Turner, of Burlington, KY. 
a son, Travis, husband of Angie Woodruff, of Jamestown, KY. 

She is also survived by 3 grandchildren Brandon Patrick Frame, Penny Lane Woodruff and Lola Aaron Woodruff. 

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be Thursday December 2nd, at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, in Jamestown, KY from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. CST.

Allison Lynn Keith, 46, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, formerly of Fayetteville, North Carolina, daughter of James David Norris and Ann Marie Miles Norris of North Carolina, was born on December 2nd, 1974, in Fayetteville, North Carolina and departed this life on Sunday, November 28th, 2021, in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

She professed her faith in Christ and attended Campbellsville Christian Church. Allison loved her family and friends and was a loving mother, daughter, and wife.

She united in marriage to Jimmy Edward Keith on January 20th ,2021.

Allison is survived by:
Her husband: Jimmy Keith of Campbellsville.  
Two sons: Nathan Ryan of Kansas and Christopher Ryan of Campbellsville.

Allison is preceded in death by:
One son: Taylor Kyle on February 4th, 2020.

VISITATION: Saturday, December 4th, from 11am – 1pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.
FUNERAL: Saturday, December 4th, at 1pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.
Burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery.

​Andrew Baise, 35, of Owensboro, Kentucky, formerly of Campbellsville, son of Ed and Barbara Baise of Campbellsville, was born on August 20th, 1986, in Taylor County and departed this life on Sunday, November 28th, 2021, in Campbellsville, Kentucky.  
 
He professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church. 
 
Andrew was an avid golfer and was part of Taylor County High School Regional Golf Championship team in high school. He was also a UK fan and enjoyed watching and attending football and basketball games. He was employed at Green River Medical Equipment alongside his father. Andrew was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha at Western Kentucky University. He loved his family and friends and was a proud father, son, brother, and uncle. 
 
Andrew is survived by:  
 
His son: Asher Baise of Owensboro. 
 
His parents: Ed Baise and Barbara Turner Baise of Campbellsville.  
 
One brother: Bryan Baise and wife, Danielle Baise of Louisville.  
 
One sister: Brittany Richey and husband, Blake Richey of Bowling Green.  
 
Several nieces and nephews: Layton, Luke, Emie, and Hudson Richey of Bowling Green; Mady, Collin, and Olivia Baise of Louisville.  
 
Andrew is preceded in death by: 
 
His paternal grandparents: Clint and Mary Baise.
 
His maternal grandmother: Juanita Turner
 
His uncles: Ronnie Baise and Bobby Turner

Anthony James "Tony" Riddle, age 53 of  Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY. Anthony was born on February 14, 1968 in Mooresville, IN,  to the late James and Ann Francis Riddle. 

He was employed at Dale Hollow Lake State Park as a water treatment plant operator and of the Baptist faith. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Riddle, sister-in-law, Cindy Riddle and nephew, Cory Riddle.


Survivors include:
Two sons - Anthony J Riddle (Brooke Gibson) and Gavin Riddle, all of Burkesville, KY
One daughter - Courtney Finley of Bowling Green, KY
Grandson - Dixon James Riddle and step-grandchildren
Brother - Timmy Riddle (Kathy) of Burkesville, KY
Nieces - Catherine Riddle Corbitt, Cary Riddle George, April Thrasher and Amy Sams

Christopher Glenn Coffey

Christopher Glenn Coffey, of Jamestown, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021.  He was 38 years of age.

Christopher was born in Somerset on June 28, 1983, son of Donnie and Peggy Smith Coffey.  He was a truck driver who learned to drive while riding with and driving for his dad.  Although he would spend weeks at a time on the road with his dad, Christopher was definitely a “Mama’s boy”.  He had spent over 15 years on the road, most recently with Core-Trans Trucking. 

Christopher enjoyed group calls with his fellow truck drivers while they would all be on the road away from home.  He liked to do mechanic projects in his spare time. Christopher was a good-hearted man with a kind soul. 

He is survived by his mother, Peggy Coffey; his sister and brother-in-law, Amanda Coffey Stapp and Troy Stapp; his maternal grandmother, Reba Smith; two nephews, Tyler Stapp and Trevor Stapp; and a special cousin who was like a sister, Tisha Popplewell, all of Jamestown.

Christopher is preceded in death by his father, Donnie Coffey, who passed away on October 9, 2020.
​
Funeral services are 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Wesley Coffey, Ashley Coffey, Daniel Popplewell, Robbie Morgan, Jason Smith and Junior Smith.  Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Meredieth, Charles Collins and Danny Sears.

Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home, until time for services.

Eugene Leon Smith Sr.

Eugene Leon Smith Sr., 94, of Danville, formerly of Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of late William Everett Smith and Ethel Grigsby Smith, was born August 17th, 1927, in Washington County and departed this life on Friday, November 26th, 2021, at Landmark Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Danville. 

He professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church. 

He united in marriage to Betty Lou Guenther on December 24th,1951, and she preceded him in death on September 22nd, 2017. 

Eugene was a veteran of WWII having served his country in the United States Army. He obtained a Post Graduate degree and worked as a guidance counselor in the school system. He was also a Baptist minister pastoring at various churches. 

He is survived by one son and one daughter: Leon Smith and wife, Karen of Russellville, Ky and Norma Wheeler and husband, Bobby Joe of Danville. 
Four grandsons: Brian Wheeler and wife, Nicole of Danville; Steven Wheeler and wife, Heather of Danville; Aaron Smith and wife, Heather of Springfield; and Tyler Smith and wife, Taylor of Reston, VA. 
Eight great-grandchildren.
One sister and three brothers: Rebecca Bennett and husband, Bob of Harrodsburg; Nathaniel Smith and wife, Betty of Charlestown, IN; Kenny Smith of Henryville, IN; and Finace Smith and wife, Cindy of Georgetown, IN.
Along with a host of many relatives and friends.

Eugene was preceded in death by five brothers and seven sisters: Gladys Coulter, Calvin Smith, Veneta Burns, Olena Brickner, Hedger Smith, Alma Brown, Marnie Smith, Lottie Combs, Glenn Smith, Sandra Scott, and Victorine Smith. 

VISITATION
: Monday, November 29th, 2021, from 9am – 11am EST at Lowell Avenue Baptist Church in Campbellsville. 
FUNERAL: Monday, November 29th, 2021, at 11 am EST at Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.  
Burial to follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. The service will be officiated by Bro. Dave Walters.

Sheila Ellen Carter, 61, of Burnside, KY died Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.  She was born on February 22, 1960 in Columbia, KY to the late Walter Beckham Adamson, Jr. and Eva Ellen Knight Adamson.  She was also preceded in death by a brother Walter “Waldo” Adamson.

Mrs. Carter was of the Christian faith and enjoyed crafting, cooking, sewing, painting and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years Achilles “Bo” Carter of Burnside, KY; two children Amy Ellen Carter of Burnside, KY and Jeremy Rowe Carter (Kristen) of Harrodsburg, KY; three brothers Jerry Adamson (Denise), Kenneth Adamson and Ricky Adamson (Tammy) all of Columbia, KY; four sisters-in-law Jackie Adamson of Russell Springs, KY, Jo Schorman (David) of Russell Springs, KY, Jerrie Bunch (Randall) of Jamestown, KY and Judy Carter of Somerset, KY; a brother-in-law Ronnie Carter of Russell Springs and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Conover Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Wednesday after 10:00am at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sandra Kay Dyer Spears, age 67, of Breeding, KY, with her unfaltering faith in God and her family by her side, lost her long battle with cancer and departed this life on Thursday, November 25, 2021.

   A native of Adair County, she was born on February 21, 1954 to the late Herman Dyer and Cassie Lou Riley Dyer of Breeding.

   Sandra was a retired factory worker, having spent most of her life working in clothing manufacturing and taking care of her family.

   Sandra leaves to honor her memory:
   Three children: Robert L. Parmley (Sarah) of Glasgow, Diana K. Sneed (Ronald) of Edmonton, and Faye A. Eastridge (Greg) of Knifley,
   Grandchildren: Randall Parmley, Kimberly Parmley, Jacob Parmley, William Sneed, Elizabeth McGuffin, Mary Cassidy Eastridge, and Nathan Eastridge,
   One great-grandchild: Braxton Gillen,
   A sister: Nancy Groce (Bruce) of Burkesville,
   Two brothers: Roger Dyer (Donna) of Breeding, and Larry Dyer (Jane) of Burkesville,
   And a host of nieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death by her parents: Herman and Cassie Dyer; her sisters: Eva May Thrasher (Kenneth), Martha Jane York (Darnell), and Joyce Marie Farlee (Wade); her brothers: Homer Dyer, William H. Dyer, Johnny Ralph Dyer, and Mervin L. Dyer, and Donnie K. Dyer.

   There will be a funeral service to honor her life on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM EST (10:00 AM CST) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Brian Fudge will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Breeding.

   The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 28, from 5:00-8:00 PM EST (4:00-7:00 PM CST).

   Randall Parmley, Jacob Parmley, William Sneed, Nathan Eastridge, Greg Eastridge, and Ronald Sneed will serve as pallbearers. Elizabeth McGuffin, Kimberley Parmley, and Cassidy Eastridge will serve as honorary pallbearers.
