Exie Bishop Burress

Exie Bishop Burress of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Linzie A. Bishop and Cora E. Davis Bishop, was born September 20, 1925 in Jefferson County, Kentucky. She departed this life at 4:25 A.M., Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Grandview Nursing and Rehab in Campbellsville.        

She was a follower of the teachings of Jesus which she allowed to reign in her life, making her a special resident, a dear friend and a loving sister.

Exie was united in marriage to Raymond L. Burress on November 15, 1952. Raymond preceded her in death on September 15, 2012.

Survivors include two brothers: J. R. Bishop and wife, Darlene of Greensburg and Larry Bishop and wife, Brenda of Versailles; a brother-n-law, Virgil Diamond of Somerset; four nieces: Donna Hall and Cindy Clouse of Somerset and Traci Lobb and Jennifer Tucker of Greensburg; six great nephews: Aaron Hall, Riley Hall, Spencer Diamond, Benjamin Clouse, Dr. Brandon Frank and Colton Lobb; two great nieces: McKenzie Clouse and Lindsay Harris and a special friend and care giver Rita Blake; and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Janet Bishop Diamond and Inex Bishop Ennis one nephew, Virgil A. Diamond III.

VISITATION: 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. Monday

Judy Ann Neat Hixson

Judy Ann Neat Hixson, 72, of Columbia, KY died Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.  Born in Columbia, KY she was the daughter of the late Cosby and Flossie Neat.  
 
Judy loved gardening and her greatest joy was being her grandchildren’s “JuJu”. 
 
Survivors include her husband of over 51 years Byron Hixson of Columbia; a daughter Marsha Hixson of Columbia; two sons Barry Hixson (Angie) and Gary Hixson (Dana) both of Columbia; four grandchildren Will Hixson (Emma), Jake Hixson (fiancée Callee Bastin), Brady Hixson and Chloe Hixson; three brothers Dallas Neat (Sheila), Jeff Neat (Rita) and Dewayne Neat (Rhonda) all of Columbia; a special friend and relative Donetta Campbell and several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
 
Funeral services
will be Monday, April 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the New Hope Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00-8:00pm at the funeral home and will continue on Monday morning until time for the service.
 
Bro. Don Neat and Bro David Coffey will be officiating and pallbearers will be Will Hixson, Jake Hixson, Brady Hixson, Scotty Neat, Cody Neat and Larry Neat.

Phillip Dale Robertson

Phillip Dale Robertson, age 78 was born March 29, 1941 in Russell County to the late Lewis and Dorothy Richards Robertson. He departed this life Friday evening March 29, 2019, at his home, having obtained the age of seventy-eight.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Separate Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Army, August 1963-August 1965. He was a member of American Legion Post 124 Greensburg and James L Pruitt VFW Post 5813 Greensburg.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Bernadine Hardwick Robertson (August 18,2015) and one sister Annetta Pearl Calhoun.

​He is survived by one son and his wife: Doug and Carolyn Robertson, three daughters and their spouses: Renea Wright and Matthew Snow, Jennifer and Steve Matney all of Greensburg and Annetta Raley of Lebanon, seven grandchildren: Amber Pegram, Breanna Robertson, Haley, Brice and Cade Matney, Dallon and Cody Raley, four great grandchildren: Livi, Braddock and Branston Pegram and Braelynn Patterson, two sisters: Lorene Barnett and Betty Ashbrook of Russell Springs and one brother: Charles “George” Robertson of Louisville.

Funeral services for Phillip Dale Robertson will be conducted 12 Noon Central Time Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Central Time Monday and after 7 a.m. Tuesday at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.

Interment: Liberty Separate Baptist Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors by Marion County Veteran’s Honor Guard

James Evan Scott, 78, of Russell Springs, died Friday, March 29, 2019 at his home. He was born November 2, 1940 in Pikeville, Ky to the late Dallas & Mamie Stratton Scott.

He was a retired steel worker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Assani

Frances Evan Firkins Wilson

Frances Evan Wilson age 73 of Edmonton passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at her home.   She was the daughter of the late Otis and Kathryn England Firkins.

She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  

She is survived by her husband Carlos Wilson of Edmonton.  
One son Richard Wilson of Randolph. 
Two daughters: Teresa Bunch of Lakeland, Georgia and Connie Shive of Edmonton.    
One sister Shirley Coop of Glasgow.   
Eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.   

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son Tim, a sister Ruth Ann Wallace and a half sister Rita.  

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Butler Funeral Home with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens.   Visitation will be after 9:30 AM  Sunday until service time.

Margaret Clark Shively of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Shelby Bottoms and Alice Greer Bottoms, was born May 15, 1926 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 1:19 P.M., Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in Campbellsville.         Age: 92

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church. Margaret was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She united in marriage to Frank Clark in 1946 and he preceded her in death November 5, 1970.
She later united in marriage to Thomas Shively February 2, 1977 and he preceded her in death May 27, 2005.

She is survived by one daughter and one son: Doris Puryear and husband, Richard and Jim Clark and wife, Kathy of Campbellsville; two step-children: Frances Buckman of Calvary and Nancy Atwood and husband, Danny of Greensburg; three grandchildren: Richard Jeffrey Puryear and wife, Cindy of Georgia, Melanie Puryear and significant other, Rex Daugherty of Columbia and Jeremy Clark and wife, Andrea of Campbellsville; four great-grandchildren: Calah Puryear, Richard Justin Puryear, Ethan Clark and Kayden Clark; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; one sister and one brother: Mary Nelson of Louisville and J. D. Bottoms and wife, Lori of Galveston, Texas; one aunt, Blanche Kerr of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters: Ronald Bottoms, James Bottoms, Lenny Bottoms, Ralph Bottoms, Rita Nelson Cobb, Ruth Price, Carolyn Thompson, Leona Hughes and Hazel Beasley.

Tammy Wade King of Williston, Vermont, daughter of Ruth Mae Perkins Wade and the late C. E. Wade was born October 14, 1966 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Wednesday, March 20, 2019 in Vermont.         Age: 52

She professed faith in Christ and was a life-long member of Green River Memorial Baptist Church. She graduated from Taylor County High School in 1984 and was awarded an academic scholarship and later graduated from Campbellsville University with honors with Bachelors in Science Degree in Accounting.

Tammy was a senior field advocate for National Life.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth Mae Wade of Campbellsville; one brother, William A. Wade and wife, Laura of Valdosta, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Shelia Wade Sinclair and husband, Eddie of Summersville; niece, Angela Wallace and husband, Steve of Somerset; nephews: Chad Wade and wife, Jamie of Mt. Washington and Marty Wade and companion, Ashley of Jeffersontown, Kentucky; great-nieces and great-nephews: Katie Johnston and husband, Ben of Campbellsville, Isabella Wade of Mt. Washington, Alex Brockman of Nashville, Tennessee and Braelyn Wallace of Somerset; special cousin, Connie Wilson and husband, Danny of Campbellsville; several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Gene Wade, March 9, 2015.

Darrell Gaskins, 58, of Russell Springs, died Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset.  He was born October 15, 1960 in Russell County to the late James Herbert & Trannie Holt Gaskins.

Darrell was a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include several cousins.

Funeral service for Darrell Gaskins will be 10 AM. Monday, April 1, 2019
at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Dunbar officiating.

Charles Edwin Campbell, 77, of Columbia, KY died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Russell County Hospital.  Born in Adair County he was the son of the late Otis and Nannie Bell Burton Campbell.  Mr. Campbell was of the Baptist faith.
 
Survivors include his wife Judy Gentry Campbell of Columbia; a sister Avanelle Burris of Jamestown, KY; three special caregivers Kim Pelly, Phyllis Dehart and Robert Coppage and several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Letha Wilson and four brothers Sidney, James, Joe and Alvia Campbell.
 
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Lovedale Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30am until time for the service.
 
Bro. Shane Gaskin and Bro. Darrin Blair will be officiating and pallbearers will be Robert Coppage, Carl Redmon, Willie George, Larry Johnson, Jason Johnson, Jerry Albert Shaw and honorary pallbearers will be Sidney Robert Campbell, Lance Johnson, Randall Shaw and Mitchell Johnson.

Paul D. Rogers of Campbellsville, son of the late J. T. Rogers and Catherine Odell Sallee Rogers, was born June 19, 1939, in Green County, Kentucky. He died at 2:19 A.M., Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in Campbellsville.         Age: 79
​
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Elk Horn United Methodist Church, where he had served as music leader, Sunday School teacher, Pastor Parish Committee, Trustee and on numerous committees.

Paul was a retired employee of Taylor County RECC after forty-one years of service.

He united in marriage to Frances Harden March 24, 1961 and she preceded him in death July 29, 1996.

He is survived by two daughters: Paula Powell and husband, Steve and Connie Breeding and husband, Billy of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Samantha Breeding Bradstreet and husband, David, Dillon Powell and wife, Courtney and Andrew Powell of Campbellsville, Gina Breeding Baldwin and husband, Andy of Tampa, Florida and Stevie Powell Alexander and husband, Jake of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren: Adelyn Bradstreet, Greta Bradstreet, Jonah Bradstreet, Judge Bradstreet, Luke Baldwin, Levi Baldwin and Grayson Alexander; one step-granddaughter, Shelley Sayles; one brother and one sister: Robert L. Rogers and wife, Nancy and Kathy Lynn Rogers of Campbellsville; sisters-in-law: Patricia Phillips Rogers and Aileen Wilcoxson and husband, Frank of Campbellsville and Shirley Harden of Danville; special friend, Kay Lile of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews and many other friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by a brother Jerry Rogers and two brothers-in-law, Donald Harden and Bobby Harden.
