Mary Elizabeth “Cricket” Burton, 53 of Hustonville, died Thurs. Dec. 29, 2016 at home. Born Oct. 4, 1963 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Clee and Rose Lee Davis Burton. She had worked at Pioneer workshop for 19 years.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy.

Survivors include 1 brother, Danny (Becky) Burton of Lancaster and 7 sisters: Flossie West of Danville, Jean Adams of Stanford, Ann (Roy) Hargis of Hustonville, Carrie Denson of Lancaster, Brenda (Harvey) Southerland and Libby Flores all of Hustonville.

The funeral service will be at 2 pm Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Rev. Marvin Hatton. Visitation is after 12 on Monday. Burial will be at Hustonville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be William Adams, Dustin Gonyer, Harvey Southerland, Ronnie Denson, Louie Neal, Justin Powell and Josh Cheek.

Cora Mae Richards Traylor

Cora Mae Richards Traylor, 92 of Hustonville passed away December 28, 2016. Born December 17, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Effie Cox Richards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Traylor.

She is survived by two sons: Joe (Joy) Traylor of Liberty and Glen (Rose) Traylor of Hustonville; one daughter, Betty Frances (Wayne) Floyd of Liberty; two sisters: Hattie Richards of Harrodsburg and Faye Duggins of Danville; five grandchildren: Glenda, Chad, Jane, Brian and Scott; and ten great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Chad Traylor, Steve Sneed, Edwin and Collin Allen, Brian and Scott Floyd, AC Richards, Donald and Michael Coontz and Shawn Sargents.

Services are 2 pm, Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral with burial at Hustonville Cemetery. Visitation is 12-2 pm. Guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com

Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Skaggs, age 83 of Lebanon, KY, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Flaget Hospital in Bardstown, KY. She was born on May 11, 1933 in Marion County, KY. Mrs. Skaggs was a retired employee of the Marion County Board of Education and a member of First Christian Disciples of Christ Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl "Bill" Skaggs (1998); parents, Sydney Hayden and Annie Marie Mattingly Stumph; son, Jackie E. Skaggs; sister, Jestine Jenell Stumph Huber; niece, Kristi Lynn Stumph. 

Survivors include son, Eddie Earl (Phyllis) Skaggs; daughter, Peggy Ann (Dennis) Gardner; daughter-in-law, Jean Ann Skaggs; three grandchildren, William S. (Chelsea) Skaggs, Natalie E. Browning, Joshua A. (Jessica) Raley; seven great-grandchildren, Anthony Skaggs, William Patrick Sakggs, Kaylee Marie Skaggs, Kaden Thomas Raley, Brittany Diane Browning, McKenzie Skaggs Raley, Jackson Blake Skaggs; three sisters, Dorothy Followell, Ann (Raymond) Peyton, Guy Eula (Bill) Thompson; two brothers, Clifford (Darlene) Stumph, Jerry (Susan) Stumph. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the First Christian Disciples of Christ Church, officiated by Rev. Anthony Gilbert. Interment to follow in Old Liberty Cemetery. 

Visitation will be as follows: Friday at Bosley Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Chrisitian Church beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Julia Richerson of Shepherdsville, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Edgar Cave and Marjorie Long Cave, was born May 4, 1945, in Gloucester, England. She died at 11:50 P.M., Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in Louisville. Age: 71

She professed faith in Christ.

Julia was a retired over the road truck driver for FedEx.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Carolyn Richerson of Shepherdsville; one grandson, Jordan Richerson of Shepherdsville; two step-grandchildren: Josh Bishop and wife, Sarah of Mt. Washington and Brandon Bishop and fiancée, Jen of Louisville; three step-great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister: Jimmy Cave and wife, Diane and Sandra Rainwater of Campbellsville; her companion, Larry Richerson of Shepherdsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. 
Julia was also preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Joelle Cave in infancy.

VISITATION: 5:00 – 8:00 P.M., Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home

Mattie Lourene Syra age 87 of Edmonton passed  away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.   She was the daughter of the late Holland and Irene Hensley Garrett.

 Lourene was a homemaker and member of the Cedar Flat Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband Stanley Syra with whom she celebrated 70 years of marriage on August 25, 2016.    Other survivors include two daughters.   Barbara Shaw and Judy (Jimmy) Reece all of Edmonton.   Seven grandchildren.    James, Stan and Stephen Reece,  Jared and Andy Shaw,   Amy Irwin and Julie Harper.    Fourteen great grandchildren.    Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Maxie Garrett, a great grandchild Dustin and a son in law Wendell Shaw. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM  Saturday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens.   Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM  Friday and after 9:00 AM   Saturday at the funeral home.

William Lee “Sonny” Waldman of Hudson, Florida, formerly of Radcliff, KY, departed this life on Monday, December 26, 2016 surrounded by family having attained the age of 81 years, 5 months and 27 days of age.

Sonny was born June 29, 1935 in Fort Knox, KY the son of the late Henry William and Nellie May Shipp Waldman. He had made a profession in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was united in marriage January 11, 1955 to Velva Mae “Darnell” Humphrey Waldman who preceded him in death, August 12, 2014.

He was a successful business owner for over 60 years with Velva Darnell Record Shop, The Fun Machine and Velva Darnell Electronics.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William Edward “Eddie” and Coleen Waldman of Weeki Wachee, FL, two daughters and sons-in-law, Debora “Debbie” and Jerry D. Bagby of Greensburg, KY and Debreonna “LaJean” and Michael “Mike” Glover of Lebanon, TN, seven grandchildren: Cessini, Jalynna, Brandon, Jamie, Jeffery, Sierra and Shelby and one great-grandchild, Seany and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at 1:00 PM Eastern

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM Eastern in the chapel at, Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home, 198 Lawrence Street, Brandenburg, KY 40108. (270) 422-2115

Evelynn Grace Rodenberg daughter of Austin and Nicole Slinker Rodenberg of Louisville was stillborn Friday, December 23, 2016 at Norton-Suburban Women and Childrens hospital in Louisville. 

Besides her parents she is survived by her maternal grandparents Kathy Slinker of Center, Kentucky and Kevin Slinker of Washington, D.C.     Paternal grandparents Michael and Gloria Rodenberg of Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Lillian Raney, age 93, of Kings Mountain, KY, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016, at her home in Kings Mountain, KY.

Born September 25, 1923, in Casey Co., KY, she was a daughter of the late John Nelson Bastin and Gracie F. Cooper Bastin. She was a homemaker and a member of the Corinth First Church of God. Mrs. Raney also enjoyed quilting.

Survivors include her son, Wendell V. (and Teresa) Raney of Kings Mountain; daughter, Carolyn Yvonne (and Darrell) Carman of Lexington; brothers, Norman (and Betty) Bastin of Liberty, Leon Bastin of Indiana, and Jan (and Lou) Bastin of Hustonville; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William Tearl Raney, who passed away on February 11, 1981; daughter, Bernetta Faye Raney; brothers, Otis, Cecil, Robert, and Travis Bastin; sisters, Marie Salyers and Beulah Spears; and 2 grandsons also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the Corinth First Church of God, 1962 N. KY 501, Kings Mountain, KY 40442. The service will be officiated by Bro. Marshall Malone, Bro. Bud Bastin, and Bro. Tim Carman. Burial will follow the service in the Bethelridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 PM on Wednesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and from 11AM until 1PM on Thursday at the Church.

Leroy Pennington age 83 of Glasgow passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow after a long illness.   He was the son of the late Maxie Henry Pennington and Ruby Robertson Pennington.   

He was a Hart county native and a retired farmer until his illness.  

He is survived by two sons.  Bobby (Barbara) Pennington and Billy (Karen) Pennington all of Horse Cave.   Two daughters.   Virginia Edwards of Edmonton and Betty Shirley of Greensburg.  Nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great great grandson.  One brother Bill Pennington of Cave City and a sister Margie Blair of Fountain Run.   Also a special lady friend Jo Ann Ervin of Glasgow and her children.  Judy, Kathy, Freida, Danny and there children.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Jo Ann Pennington, three brothers Melvin, Maxie Jr. and Tommy Pennington.   Two sisters Naomi Riordan and Geraldean Pennington. 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM  Thursday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Houk Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM  Wednesday and after 9:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sherry Brock Wolford of Campbellsville was born in Louisville on December 7, 1970 to Gilbert Brock and the late Ruth (Blythe) Brock. She departed this life on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the University of Louisville Hospital after a sudden illness. She was 46 years and 16 days of age. Mrs. Wolford professed faith in Christ and was of the Catholic faith. She was a manager for Dollar Tree in Campbellsville and was a loving mother, sister, daughter, and wife.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

   One son and one daughter: Cody Brock Wolford and Cameo Blythe Wolford, both of Campbellsville,
   Her father and stepmother: Gilbert and Barbara Brock of Columbia,

   Three siblings: Phyllis Hansel and husband David of Columbia, Lisa Ford of Campbellsville, and Ray Brock and wife Jennifer of Columbia,
   Two step-sisters: Lesa Nimmie and husband Daniel and Tammy McHorter and husband Troy, all of Campbellsville,
   Nieces and nephews: Jesica Conover, Jon Hansel, Spencer Hansel, Ryan Ford, Cooper Brock, Broady Brock, Jeremy Wolford, Shay Wolford, Lejano Zavalija, Leslie Wolford, Austin Wolford, Brinley Wolford, Brandy Bowe, Brittany Merrith, Kayla Holmes, Tiara Holmes, Trevor McHorter, Chelsea Nimmie, Kirsten Nimmie, and Jacob Nimmie,
   Great nephews: Hudson Conover, Jackson Conover, and Jace Nimmie,

   There will be a celebration of Mrs. Wolford’s life on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd., Campbellsville, KY. The family will receive friends after 4:00 PM EST with a prayer service conducted at 7:00 PM. After the prayer, the family will share memories and stories with all in attendance. At the request of Mrs. Brock, cremation rites will be accorded her after the service
