Rollin Barnett, Jr., was born March 2, 1931 in Green County, KY to the late Rollin Barnett, Sr. and Ozella Richardson Barnett. He departed this life Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 at The Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Campbellsville, having attained the age of eighty six years, six months and twenty-four days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Jacob Grove Baptist Church, where he formerly served on the Jacob Grove Usher Board and as a trustee. He worked at Bourbon Cooperage in Lebanon for several years. He also worked at the Green County Courthouse. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Lucy Smith Barnett, one son: Stephon Barnett and one brother: George (Pete) Washington Barnett.

He is survived by one daughter: Holly Barnett of Greensburg, two sons and two daughters-in-law: Earl and Mary Barnett of Campbellsville and James and Thresa Barnett of Elizabethtown, three sisters: Shirley Scott, Francis (Babe) Compton and Annie Shively, all of Louisville, nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Stanley Franklin “Puddin” Butler

Stanley Franklin “Puddin” Butler age 72 of Edmonton passed away Wednesday September 27, 2017 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.    He was the son of the late Sam Benton and Beatrice Trixie Johnson Butler.    

He was a farmer. 

He is survived by one brother Joe Amon Sullivan of Livingston, TN.   Two sisters.   Mable Forehand of Clearmont, FL and Loria bailey of Jackson, Michigan.   Family friends Linda Grider, Hack and Lorene Savage all of Edmonton.   Several nieces and nephews also survive.  

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM  Saturday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Missionary Mound Cemetery.    Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM  Friday and after 9:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.

Timothy Donald Hubbard age 60 of Edmonton passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville.    He was the son of Jimmie Hubbard of Edmonton and the late Ruth Smith Hubbard.  

Tim was a retired truck driver, army veteran and deacon of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie Coffey Hubbard of Edmonton.    Three children.   Timmy (Connie) Hubbard II of Edmonton.    April (Ernie) England of Edmonton and Tora (Dewayne) Emmitt of Edmonton.   Five brothers.   Jim (Cindy) Hubbard, Louis (Sammy) Hubbard, Daryl Hubbard, Alvin (Lisa) Hubbard and Steven (Teresa) Hubbard all of Edmonton.    Two sisters.   Michelle (Robert) Coffey and Donna (Todd) Mosher all of Edmonton.    Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive

   Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM  Sunday at the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.   Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM  Saturday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton  and after 9:00 AM  Sunday at the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.

Marie Day age 64 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Cumberland Valley Manor.  Marie was born on December 14, 1952 in Cumberland County, KY to the late Jessie James Wolfe and Gladys May Booher Wolfe. 

She was a former employee of Family Home Health and had attended Center Point Church of the Nazarene. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Lee Johnson, two brothers, Weldon Wolfe and Ray Wolfe, and three sisters, Sue Wallace, Margie Reed, and Jean Franklin.

Survivors Include:
Her Husband- Delus Day of Burkesville, KY
Twelve Children- Becky Stidham(Neil) and Markall Brooks(Andie) of Taylorsville, KY, Brian Johnson(Sha), Stephen Johnson(Kim), Angela Guerra, Melissa Wright(Stevie), Paula Garcia(Juan), Kristy Wilburn, Matthew Day(Deanna), and Brittany Day all of Burkesville, KY, Marie Day of Cookeville, TN, and Kathy Moreland of Nashville, TN
One Brother- Bill Wolfe of Louisville, KY
One Sister- Diane Wolfe of Albany, KY
Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren also survive.

Dwight Rich age 54 years of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017
at 3:15 AM at his home after brief illness.

He was born on May 21, 1963 in Louisville, KY.
He was the son of the late Harris & Doris Carby Rich of Adair County, KY.

He is survived by his wife Tammy K. Knifley Rich of Columbia, KY.

Dwight was a member of Bearwallow United Methodist Church, a rural mail carrier at the Columbia post office for 27 years, member, past president & director of the Adair County Sportsmen’s Club, Adair County 4-H Shooting  Sports Coach, Adair County Band Boosters for many years, coach at the Adair Little League football, baseball, softball, basketball,  past president of the Green River Kruzers Car Club, was an avid Harley-Davidson rider and was a disc jockey at WHVE radio

Blanche Gribbins

Mrs. Blanche Gribbins, age 83 of Lebanon, KY, passsed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Center. She was born on January 4, 1932 in Marion County, KY.

​Mrs. Gribbins was a retired employee of Jane and Linda Sportswear and a member of Grace Baptist Church. 


She was preceded in death by her parents, Elza Washington and Willie Walker Rhodes Gribbins; brother, Winfrey Gribbins. 

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Jo Greenwell and Wanda Lou Mattingly, both of Lebanon, KY. Also surviving are five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September, 29, 2017 at Bosley Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Clellan Hays. Interment to follow in Old Liberty Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the funeral home.

Lewis Ray Propes, 73 of Casey County went to his Heavenly Home on Monday, September 25, 2017. Born February 10, 1944, he was the son of the late Ernest Lewis and Mary Elizabeth Downs Propes. He was a farmer and a member of Only Grace Community Church in Eubank. 

Lewis is survived by one son, Anthony Wethington of Danville; two daughters: Heather (Dwayne) Tatum of Burgin and Angela (Larry) Chaffee of Stanford; three brothers: James Propes of Crab Orchard, Steve (Donna) Propes of Lancaster and Jimmy Propes of Eubank; three sisters: Mona (Charles) McElroy of Crab Orchard, Linda (Earl) Adkins of Stanford and Donna Fortune (Billy Shannon) of Waynesburg; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by four sisters: Brenda Crowe, Wanda Clark, Geneva Propes and Eva Sanford and one brother, Randell Propes.

Services will be at 11 am, Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Bro. Dallas Burton with burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 6-9 pm, Friday at the funeral Home.

Marjorie Elois Squires Gumm

Mrs. Marjorie Elois Squires Gumm of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jim Lewis Squires and Tamar Murrell Finn Squires, was born on Thursday, September 13, 1934 in Green County and departed this life on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Green Hill Rehab and Care Center.  She was 83 years and 10 days of age.

        She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church.  She was also a retired clerk for Houchens Industries.

        She united in marriage to Alva Royce Buchanan in January of 1950 who preceded her in death on February 5, 1972.  She later united in marriage to Billy Wayne Gumm on March 28, 1975 who also preceded her in death on January 14, 2017.

        Survivors include a daughter: Gayle Rogers of Columbia; grandchildren: Brian and Elizabeth Downey of Georgia, Laura and Matthew Brummett of Glensfork, Erin and Dave Eubank of Bowling Green; great-grandchildren: Allie, Maggie, and Sam Brummett, Dawson, Dylan, Olivia, Ava, and Carson Eubank, Bryce and Mary Carlin Downey; sister: Lucille Bagby of Greensburg; a brother and sister-in-law: Elwood and Jewell Squires of Campbellsville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

        Mrs. Gumm was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers: Gladys Marie Squires, Grace Beatrice Squires, Lee Nelson Squires, James Floyd Squires, Lloyd Russell Squires, and Raymond Lewis Squires.

        The funeral services for Mrs. Elois Squires Gumm will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Central Time, Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Fry Cemetery.  Bro. William Davenport officiating.

        Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Monday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Tuesday until time of the funeral service.

        The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

Martha Greer

Martha Greer, 60 years and 8 days of age, formerly of Campbellsville died Sunday, September 24, 2017 in Danville.  Martha was born September 16, 1957, the daughter of the late William Basil and Ella Mae Parrott Wethington in Clementsville, KY.   

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Greer, Sr. and siblings, James Larry Wethington, Frances Cox, Jerry Wethington, Gordon Wethington, Mary Clements, Charles Wethington and Pat Propes.  

Prior to becoming ill, she was a full-time homemaker and recently enjoyed spending time on Facebook.

She is survived by sons, Clay Greer and wife, Sandy of Nicholasville, Tony Wethington and companion, Timothy King and Richard Greer, Jr. and girlfriend, Eva Peterson, of Danville; daughters, Angie Chafie and husband, Larry of Stanford, Holly Greer and Heather Tatum and husband, DeWayne of Harrodsburg as well as ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.   Also surviving are her sisters and brothers, Charlotte Tungate, Dean Wethington and wife, Sue, Tom Wethington and wife, Nina and Michael Wethington, all of Campbellsville, Betty Stewart and husband, Jimmy of Harlan County and Joseph Wethington and Leona of Liberty.

The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Clementsville with Rev. George Otuma.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery with casket bearers being, Junior Greer, T.J. Wethington, Brandon Massey, Bill Wethington, C.J. Wethington and Tom Wethington.   Honorary bearers are, Anthony Wethington, Clayton Greer, Holly Greer, Angela Chafie, T.K. King, Brittany Massey and Eva Peterson.
The family request visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

Betty (Guenther) Smith

Betty Smith, of Campbellsville, died Friday, September 22, 2017 in Campbellsville following a lengthy illness. She was 87 years, 8 months and 7 days of age.

She was born on January 15, 1930 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late John Caspar and Annabelle Shannon Guenther.  She was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church and in her earlier years worked as a cashier for Kroger.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Anna Mae Alexander and Laverne Hardin.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Smith, Sr.; a son, Leon Smith and his wife, Karen of Russellville; a daughter, Norma “Sissie” Wheeler and her husband, Bobby of Perryville; four grandchildren, Brian (Nicole) Wheeler, Steven (Heather) Wheeler, Aaron (Heather) Smith and Tyler (Taylor) Smith and four great-grandchildren, Owen, Ella, Naomi and Lydia Wheeler.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 25th at the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Walters officiating.  Entombment will follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
The family requests visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the church prior to the funeral service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Gideon Bibles or Hosparus Green River.  Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family expressed deep appreciation to Hosparus Green River for the excellent care they provided and to Lowell Avenue Baptist Church for the care extended through these times.
