William "Bill" Holland, Jr.  age 68, died Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Russell County Hospital. He was born July 29, 1951 in Lexington Kentucky to the late William & Margaret Hisle Holland.

Bill was a carpenter amd a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Funeral service for William "Bill" Holland, Jr. will be 2 PM. Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with

William Larry Calhoun

William Larry Calhoun, 72, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.  Born on December 28, 1947 in Taylor County he was the son of the late William Lucian and Lela Parson Calhoun.

Mr. Calhoun was a former service station employee and farmer.  He loved fishing, hunting and being outdoors.

Survivors include his wife Linda Smith Calhoun of Columbia; a son Jeff Calhoun (Pam) of Columbia; a daughter Rhonda Calhoun of Columbia; two sisters Darlene Howard of Campbellsville and Juanita Shadoan of Ohio; two grandchildren Braxton Conner and Taylor Calhoun both of Columbia; one step-grandchild Jerrod Grider of Campbellsville and several other friends and relatives.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters Dana Calhoun, Velma Bagby and Louella Schierloh and two brothers Merlin Calhoun and Danny Calhoun.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, March 2, 2020 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00-8:00pm at the funeral home and continue Monday morning until time for the service.

Elizabeth Ann Smith, 14, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 4:55 P.M. at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was born March 11, 2005 in Lexington, Kentucky.  Elizabeth professed her faith in Christ, was baptized and became a member of Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church in Casey County where she enjoyed playing the piano and singing.  She was a Treasurer of the Freshman Class at Adair County High School, a member of the Academic Team and, while at Adair County Middle School, a member of Sources of Strength.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Walker Smith, Paternal Grandfather, Jimmy Smith and Maternal Grandmother, Vicki Cowan.

Survivors include:
Her parents – Rodney and Rebecca Cowan Smith of Columbia
One sister – Emily Smith of Columbia
Paternal Grandmother – Eloise Smith of Albany
Maternal Grandfather – Clifton Cowan of Russell Springs
Two Aunts – Joy Bowlin and Jenny Harlan both of Albany
Three Uncles – Doug Smith of Albany, Chris Smith of Edmonton, Matt Cowan of Houston, Texas

Zina H. Burton, 88, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at his home.

He was born January 14, 1932, in Adair County, to the late Alvin and Nona Burton, a former businessman owning Burton Lime Service,  a farmer and attended Bearwallow United Methodist Church as long his health permitted.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Davidson Burton on January 27, 2013 and the following siblings, Lloyd, Edgar, Lawrence, Earl, Leonard and James Burton, Cecile McKinney and Marie Pyles.

Survivors include:
Four sisters-in-law – Anna Burton of Columbia, Louine Sinclair of Campbellsville, Arthia Jones of Fishers, Indiana, Kay Davidson of Lisle, Illinois
One brother-in-law – Billy Davidson of Indianapolis, Indiana
Special caregiver – Julie Stephens of Columbia
Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Eugene Sayers, age 81, of Liberty, KY passed away Thursday, February 27 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Hospital.
He was born on Sunday, October 23 1938, in Liberty, KY.

He was the son of:
Mother - Mattie Watson Sayers, who has preceded him in death
Father - Herschel Sayers, who has preceded him in death

Wife - Janet Sayers of Liberty, KY

William Henry Hill

William Henry Hill, 81, of Jamestown, Ky. passed away on February 26, 2020 at the Russell County Hospital after a prolonged illness.  He was born in Bryan, Ky on February 27, 1938, to
the late Thomas & Adell Lawless Hill and was #8 of 14 siblings in his family.

He was a member of the Union Chapel Methodist Church and was a well-known mechanic and farmer in the Union Chapel community.

He confessed Christ in 1963 and was always active in his church by leading singing, teaching Sunday school and doing whatever needed to be done to ensure church activities were in order.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald R. Hill and 1 great-grandson Blake Walters.

Arvil G. Fluty, age 83 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Cumberland County Hospital. Arvil was born on December 29, 1936 in Monroe County, KY  to the late Willie C. Fluty and Rutha Mae Killman Fluty. He was a member of Red Banks United Methodist Church and a farmer. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Dovie Melton, one infant brother, Charles Fluty and one special uncle, Jim Fluty.

Survivors Include:
Three Children- Donnie Fluty(Carmen) of Clearwater, Florida, Patricia Owens(Kenneth) of Whiteland, IN, and Kathy Cuskaden-Haver(John) of Greenwood, IN
One Brother- Cordell Fluty(Brenda) of Burkesville, KY
One Sister- Norma Lacy(Bradley) of Lexington, KY
4 Nieces- Tammy Hall, Eva Christensen, Heather Lacy, Kimberly Cantu
2 Nephews- Danny Joe Melton, Bradley David Lacy
4 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.

Geneva Louise Knifley Spires, 91, of Columbia, KY died Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Hospice House of Southern KY in Bowling Green, KY.  Born in Knifley, KY she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Hallie Chelf Knifley.  Mrs. Spires married the late Robert Spires on August 23, 1946.

Louise was a member of the Columbia Christian Church and former owner and operator of the Country Corner Store and formerly worked with the Lake Cumberland Head Start.  She was known for her delicious cooking and loved reading and sewing.

Survivors include four children Gayle Blair of Columbia, KY, Robert Spires (Susan) of Murfreesboro, TN, Nancy Norris (Bailey) of Bowling Green, KY and Carla Hargus (Jeff) of Lexington, KY; 8 grandchildren Bryan Blair, Barry Blair, Robert Spires, James Spires, Rachel Norris, Reed Norris, Grant Hargus and Hallie Hargus and 5 great grandchildren Cassidy, Caylie, Charlotte, George and Helen Blair.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother Ivan Knifley and his wife Yvonne and a son-in-law Fred Blair.

Funeral services will be 12:00pm Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday from 3:30-8:00pm at the funeral home and continue on Saturday morning until time for the service.

Jeff Hargus will be officiating and pallbearers will be Bryan Blair, Barry Blair, Robert Spires, Reed Norris, Randy Quinn and Keven Spires.  Honorary pallbearers will be James Spires and Grant Hargus. 
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Adair County Public Library and can be left at the funeral home.

Sue W. Parrott of Campbellsville daughter of the late Ward Willington Fightmaster and Esther Mae Adams Fightmaster, was born June 25, 1937 in Harrison County, Kentucky.  She died at 4:47 P.M., Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in Campbellsville.   Age:  82

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church and under the watchcare of Boca Glades Baptist Church when in Florida. 

Sue was a retired educator with the Campbellsville Independent School System.

She was on the Campbellsville City Council for fifteen years.

Sue was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who loved playing bridge and traveling.

She united in marriage to Lanny L. Parrott June 18, 1956.

Besides her husband, Lanny L. Parrott of Campbellsville, she is survived by two sons and two daughters:  Jeff Parrott, Logan Parrott and wife, Jane and Leslie Gaines and husband, Lee of Campbellsville and Cindy Sue Speth and husband, Frank of Columbus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three sisters:  Betty Jo Cox and husband, Jimmy of St. Louis, Missouri, Lydia Bell Harris and husband, David of Chandler Arizona and Rebecca Schroll and husband, John of Kissimee, Florida; one adopted sister, Betty Hord Johnston of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan Coppage.

Beverly Ann Hendricks, 76, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Saturday, February 22nd, at her residence. 

Beverly was born on May 9, 1943, a daughter of the late Josephine (Wooten) and Titus Richards. 

Beverly is survived by 
a daughter, Sandra Hill 
five sons Kermitt Wayne Burchett, Roger Burchett, Curt Hendricks, Chris Hendricks, and Timmy Hendricks 
a special niece Marsha Brower 
She is also survived by 8 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Hendricks, Connie Kilpatrick, Cheyann Burchett, and Jamie King. 

Religious Service at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, Jamestown, KY, at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 28th, with Bro. Johnny Rexroat officiating. 

Friends may visit Friday 11:00 AM. at H. E. Pruitt Memory Chapel. 

Interment at Murray Cemetery Jamestown, KY.
