Picture
Stuart Kirkland Brady, 33, passed away Monday, February 27, 2023, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was born on August 14, 1989, to proud parents, Chuckie and Julita Brady, and grew up in Lebanon, Kentucky. He attended St. Augustine Catholic School where he made lifelong friends and played many sports (and had to control his mom in the stands). He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and skiing with his cousins. An accomplished student and soccer player, he graduated as salutatorian from Marion County High School in 2008 and was named a Kentucky Governor’s Scholar.

Stuart then attended the University of Kentucky, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and earned his B.S. degree in biology. While in college, he fell under the cruel spell of addiction and fought so hard against the demons that would eventually take him from this world.

Stuart never met a stranger and had a bright, outgoing personality, which made him such a success in the service industry. He worked at many restaurants over the years and thrived in his most recent job at Olde Stone Country Club. He was loved by all who knew him, but no one adored him more than his nieces and nephews who affectionately called him “Uncle Stu.” No greater joy did he have than spending time with his family – especially during their annual Fourth of July trip to Gatlinburg.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobby and Pauline Buckman and Charles and Dorothy Brady. Survivors include his parents, Chuckie and Julita, his siblings Bobby (Katie) Bailey, Kristen (Charles) George, and Sarah (Scott) Frey, his pride and joy – his nieces and nephews: Eden, Ivy, Salem, Rowan, Harrison, Kathryn, Seraphina, Hazel, and Petra, his girlfriend, Kailey Powers, and her adoring sons, Trenton and Easton, and his beloved pups, Maria and Chico.

A private visitation will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church on Thursday, March 2, at 11 AM. A Mass of Christian burial for the public will follow at 1 PM. Pallbearers will be first cousins Ben Buckman, Parker Buckman, Jeremy Loper, Brian Loper, Luke Thurman, Eli Thurman, and Jonah Thurman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Stuart Brady “Uncle Stu” Memorial Fund, which will support families of addicts with funeral expenses and other services.
