Anna Pearl Appleby of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Chester Osby Appleby and Lois Ellis Glover Appleby, was born February 14, 1952 in Casey County, Kentucky.  She died at 9:38 A.M., Monday, January 31, 2022 in Jeffersonville, Indiana.    Age:  69

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pine Grove Church.

Anna loved life, whether it be holidays, birthdays or family get-togethers.  She was a happy person and enjoyed the workshops and her Tri-Generation family.

She is survived by one brother and three sisters:  Allen Appleby of Clementsville, Phyllis Ritchey and husband, Harley of Campbellsville, Emma Jean Sanders and husband, Leland of Columbia and Wanda Wilson of Casey County; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Anna was also preceded in death by four brothers:  Henry Leon Appleby, James Appleby, Arnold Appleby and Franklin Appleby.

Coy Froedge, 76, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Monday, January 31, 2022 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

He was born January 3, 1946, in Adair County, to the late William McKinley and Pearl Parson Froedge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Claire, six brothers, Emmett, Lester, Wesley, Cecil, J.C. and Carl Froedge and two sisters, Marie McInteer and Ann Maesk.

Coy was a member of Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church and owner of Coy Froedge Logging.

Survivors include:
His wife – Alma Maxine Corbin Froedge of Columbia
One daughter and son-in-law – Shelly and Jamie Bennett of Columbia
Two sons and daughters-in-law – Frankie and Ashley Froedge and Daniel and Jessica Froedge all of Columbia
Seven grandchildren – Kendall, Ethan, Molly, Savannah, Ava, Ellisyn and Tristan
One great-grandchild – Ash
Several other relatives and friends

Funeral service – Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Hank Gibson officiating

Beverly Jean Williams

Beverly Jean Williams, 82, of Louisville, KY died Sunday, January 30, 2022 at her residence.  She was born in Winchester, KY on June 16, 1939 to the late Louise Goodpasture Shaw. 

In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Williams, Sr., a son Joseph M. Williams Jr. and two sisters Mary Rankin and Wanda Quiggins.

Survivors include a daughter Sharon L. Chandler of Louisville, KY; two grandchildren Daniel Chandler II of New Albany, IN and Whitney Chandler of Louisville, KY; five great grandchildren Kodi Faulkner, Gabriel Faulkner, Tay Tay Acton, Daniel Chandler III and Jaylynn Chandler; two sisters Patsy McCauley and Libby Reinstedler and several other friends and relatives.

Graveside services will be 11:00am Monday, February 7, 2022 at the Fudge Cemetery.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

​Charles Curtis “CC” Rooks, 82 of Freetown, Indiana, passed away January 30, 2022 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana In-Patient Facility in Columbus, Indiana. He was born June 30, 1939 in Columbia, Kentucky. He was the son of Welby Lee Rooks and Myrtle “Rooks” Alley. He married Ethel Mae “Roberts” Rooks and she survives.

He is also survived by his wife, children, Curtis Dale ”Mariam” Rooks of Edinburgh, Indiana, Anthony Lee “Vicki” Rooks of Franklin, Indiana, Sherri “Cory” Smith of Edinburgh, Indiana, Gary “Jerrie” Rooks of  Columbus, Indiana, Eric “Rebecca” Rooks of Columbus, Indiana, and  Kim “Brandon” Martin of Brown County, Indiana, 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, brothers, Rollin Rooks of Edinburgh, Indiana, Avery Rooks of Columbia, Kentucky, and Gene “Polly” Rooks of Edinburgh, Indiana, and sister, Ida Pearl Bryant of Franklin, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Tyler Rooks and Welby Rooks, Jr, and sisters, Cecile Burton and Ruth Burton.

He enjoyed gardening and working.

A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Douglas Smith at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.

Anna Ray, 63, of Columbia, KY, passed away Saturday, January 29th, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital, Glasgow, KY. 

Anna was born in Albany, KY, on February 21, 1958, a daughter of the late Lena (Brumley) and Joe Bell 

Anna is survived by: 
three sisters, Christine Norris, Janice Vine, and Rita Guffey 
eight brothers, J.D. Bell, Roger Bell, Eddie Bell, Andy Bell, Kenneth Bell, Phillip Bell, Odell Brumley, and David Brumley 
A special friend Lucy Malone and God children Destiny Miller, Nikki Ballenger, and James Murphy also survive. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Ray, sisters Alma Jones, Bessie Elmore, Mary Brown, Ora Reeder, Dorothy Wesley, and Sue Bravard. 

Care and cremation were chosen. A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.

Marilyn Charline Blair

Marilyn Charline Blair of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Joe Tom Grant and Mildred Evelyn (Bennett) Grant, was born on Sunday, October 31, 1954 in Adair County, Kentucky and departed this life on Saturday, January 29, 2021 at her home. She was 67 years, two months, and 29 days of age. 

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dean Blair, having united in marriage on October 27, 1972. 

Other survivors include a daughter: Misty Dawn Blair of Green County; two brothers: Reid Grant of Glensfork and Joe Russell Grant of Adair County; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Mrs. Blair was also preceded in death by a sister: Thomasine Loy; and a brother: Donnie Grant. 

The funeral services for Marilyn Charline Blair will be conducted at 10 A.M., Central Time, Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery. 

Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Tuesday, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Wednesday, until the time of the funeral service.

Jeremy Shane Dozier was born April 9, 1970, in Dallas, Texas to Leonard and Lynda Cardin Dozier.  He departed this life Saturday, January 29, 2022, at his home in Bradfordsville having attained the age of fifty-one years, nine months, and twenty days.

He was an Army Ranger serving 1988 to 1992 and discharged honorably as a disabled veteran.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife and three children: Kim Dozier, Dalton Dozier, Hunter Dozier and Rayelyn Dozier, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Karen, and Harry Pelle all of Bradfordsville, KY.  One brother, Clint Dozier of McKinney Texas, plus a host of other relatives, and friends.

Cremation chosen by the family.

Place of service: Memorial service, February 19, 2022, in Dallas Texas

Jessie Allen Johnson, 47, of Columbia, KY died Friday, January 28, 2022 from injuries sustained in an auto accident.  He was born in Louisville, KY on February 26, 1974 to James and Vallerie Trout Johnson of Columbia, KY who survives.

Jessie enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.  He was an exceptional Trap Shooter, winning the Sub-State Jr. Division for many years before moving up to win the Kentucky State Jr. Division for 3 consecutive years.

In addition to his parents, James and Vallerie Johnson he is survived by three sons Dustin Dermody and Jacob Dermody both of Louisville, KY and Zachary Johnson of Columbia, KY; two sisters Barbara Ann Duncil of Louisville, KY and Lisa Inscho of Columbia, KY; three nieces Nadalie Inscho (Steven), Bethany Inscho and Kylie Inscho; a great niece Daveia Inscho and several cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and other relatives.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday after 10:00am at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. David Coffey will be officiating and pallbearers will be Doddle Bryant, Buddy Hanson, John Boy Hanson, Jimmy Hanson, Steven Inscho and Michael Schmidt.

Harold D. Loy, 72, of Columbia, KY died Friday, January 28, 2022 at T. J. Health Columbia.  He was born in Columbia, KY on August 10, 1949 to the late Hansel and Rosa Gladys Hill Loy.  He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Bardin Loy.

Mr. Loy enjoyed tinkering with cars and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by two children Janeatte Kelsay (Timmy) and Diane Boller (Gary) both of Columbia, KY;  a daughter-in-law Starr Tweedy of Columbia, KY; two brothers Raymond Loy (Brenda) and Freddie Loy both of Columbia, KY; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two children Larry Tweedy and Jeff Tweedy and two sisters Betty Murphy and Peggy Furkin.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Bardin Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday after 10:00am at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Ronnie Janes will be officiating and pallbearers will be family.

Joyce Carolyn Coffey

Joyce Carolyn Coffey of the Little Barren Community, daughter of the late Sylvester Jeffries and Elsie Bell Wilson Jeffries, was born on Friday, November 5, 1948 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the TJ Samson Hospital in Glasgow. She was 73 years, two months, and 23 days. 

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She worked at the Coffey Family Care Home for 22 years and loved living the farm life and working with cows.  

Survived by her husband of 49 years, Cecil Barkley “Buck” Coffey of the Little Barren Community, having united in marriage February 12, 1972. 

Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Tina Wynett and Glenn Wisdom and David Brian Coffey all of the Little Barren Community; a granddaughter: Cecily Amber Wisdom of the Little Barren Community; two sisters and brother-in-law: Rita and Danny Curry of Green County and Jolene Jeffries of Green County. 

Mrs. Coffey was also preceded in death by three sisters: Barbara Wright, Linda Henderson, and Pam Moore. 

The funeral services for Joyce Carolyn Coffey will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Central Time, Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Little Barren Cemetery. 

Visitation is requested from 3:30 until 8 P.M., Central time, Monday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Tuesday until time of the funeral service.
