Shirley Graybeal, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John Sylvester Sluder and Lettie Mae Cox Sluder, was born October 15, 1940, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 4:59 P.M., Monday, May 29, 2017 in Louisville. Age: 76 

She was a retired seamstress with Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
Shirley united in marriage to Roy Graybeal March 2, 1962. 

She especially loved her “critters” and grandchildren and also loved to travel any chance she got.

Besides her husband, Roy Graybeal, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and James Bishop of Midway, Georgia; two grandchildren: Kelli Flaherty and husband, Mark of Midway, Georgia and Brian Judd and wife, Shannon of Hodgenville; four great-grandchildren: Bayly Judd, Chloe Judd, Scotlyn Edelen and Emily Flaherty; five sisters: Lillie Shirrell and husband, Tommy, Linda Newton and husband, Michael, Beechel Clark, Helen Claywell and husband, Gary and Jane Dudgeon and husband, David of Campbellsville; special friend, Shirley Degeer; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister: James “Jimmy” Sluder, Harold Sluder, Charles Sluder and Aline Vannice.

Shirley Ann Smith was born May 30, 1940 to the late Alex Zander (Elic) Burris and Delzie Parson Burris. She departed this life Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, having attained the age of seventy-six years, eleven months and twenty-nine days.

Shirley had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one son: Richard “Bubba” Smith, five brothers and two sisters: Roy, A.Z., Eunie, Rue, Bill, Norene and Joyce Jean.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Alan Montgomery of Campbellsville, one brother: Rollin Burriss and one sister: Mary Elizabeth Burris of Greensburg, two grandchildren: Kimberly Dawn Harris and her husband Marcus and Jacqueline Nichole Montgomery of Indiana and five great grandchildren: Brooklynn, Rayvenn and Mayson Harris, Bryan Montgomery and Josiah Nance, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Place and time of service: Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home - 12 Noon, Wednesday, May 31, 2017
Visitation: 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 7 a.m. Wednesday at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home

Mrs. Frances Christine Porter, age 88 of Loretto, KY, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at University of Louisville Hospital. She was born on April 16, 1929 in Washington County, KY. Mrs. Porter was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Porter; parents, Dee Weathers, Sr. and Edith Trigg Weathers; daughter, Helen Jeanette Porter; brother, Marshall "Duke" Weathers; three sisters, George Ella Montgomery, Mary Ollie Logan and Edith Logan. 

Leaving to mourn and celebrate her memory are her children; three sons, Edgar Porter, of Lexington, KY, Joseph Porter and Harvey Porter, both of St. Marys, KY; five daughters, Madia White and Dorothy Porter, both of Lexington, KY, Clara Porter, of Louisville, KY, Marsha Scholl, of Phoenix, AR, Mary Caldwell, of Campbellsville, KY; brother, Dee Weather, Jr, of Louisville, KY. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. 

A Mass of Christine burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at St. Charles Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. 
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Bosley Funeral Home with prayer services at 7:00 p.m.

Richard Neal Weddle

Richard Neal Weddle, of Liberty, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 in Somerset, Kentucky. 

Born on May 23, 1956, in Danville, Kentucky, he was a son of Hazel Weddle and the late Edwin Eugene Weddle. Richard owned and operated Liberty Tire and Muffler for nearly twenty years. He was also a farmer. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is a graduate of MSU.

He is survived by his mother, Hazel Haarman Weddle; two sons, Neal (and Danielle) Weddle of Yosemite and Jason Weddle of Liberty; two sisters, Jane Wardrup of Liberty and Kathy (and Ricky) Bastin of Oklahoma; and four brothers, Roger (and Judy) Weddle, David (and Barbara) Weddle, Robert “Bob” (and Faye) Weddle, and Jerry Weddle, all of Liberty. He is also survived by six loving grandchildren, Jake, Morgan, Ava, Landon, Evan, and Ali. 

In addition to his father, Edwin Weddle, Richard is predeceased by a stillborn daughter, Rhonda Gail Weddle. 

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Salyers Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m on May 31, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Richard's pallbearers will be Steve Wardrup, Scotty Wardrup, Chad Weddle, Matthew Weddle, Logan Todd, and Lucas Salyers.

Beckham Preston “Bee” Compton

Beckham Preston “Bee” Compton of Barren County, Kentucky was born August 17th, 1925 in Nell, Adair County, Kentucky and was called to his eternal home Thursday, May 25, 2017.
 
At the age of 14 he found himself under conviction, sought the Lord and was gloriously saved.  He was baptized and joined Pink Ridge Baptist Church.  Later, he joined Dripping Spring United Baptist Church at Wisdom, Metcalfe County, Kentucky, and the home church of his wife where his membership remained until his death.  He loved singing and leading singing at local churches when the opportunity arose.  
 
He served in the Navy in WWII and was recognized by the Kentucky House of Representatives and the Senate for his service to his country.  He was a farmer and carpenter, raising his last crop at age 79.  At age 82 he reroofed the family home (which he built in the 1960’s) by himself. 
 
He was the son of the late James Robert Compton and Josie Gertrude Coomer Compton.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Flossie Lee Veluzat Compton (1994); his son, Wellsery G. Compton; siblings, Ralph, Ruel, Maxine (Gilley), and Marcella (Wagoner).
 
He is survived by one son, Delbert L. (Beverly) Compton of Nixa, MO; one brother, Billy Compton of Louisville, KY; one sister, Martha (Gerry) Lacy of Columbia, KY and two grandchildren, Amber Compton and Robert Compton of Hope, IN.
 
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Ernie Wagoner (nephew) and Jonna Wagoner Thomas (great niece) who have been very special to him in the last few years.  Ernie was instrumental in working with the VA, the Kentucky House of Representatives, and the Senate for Bee’s military recognition.  Jonna Wagoner Thomas, his loving nurse at NHC, who was always a bright spot in this day.
 
Funeral services for B. P. Compton, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with interment at New Liberty Cemetery, Metcalfe County, Kentucky.  Visatation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be providing military honors.  Pall bearers will be Eddie Wagner, Marshall Wagner, Ernie Wagner, Jason Lacy, Jonathan Lacy and Bobby Druen.

Francine Moore, 78, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 2:39 A.M. at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.  She was born January 20, 1939, in Groesbeck, Texas, to the late Frank and Christine Robertson Steele. 

She was a member of South Edmonton Church of Christ and attended Columbia Church of Christ for many years. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Tindell and two siblings; Elsie Merillian and Jerry Steele.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, painting (a talented artist), loved and cherished all of her family and was a devoted wife and loving Mother.

Survivors include:
Her husband – Winston Moore of Columbia
Two sons – Mat Tindell and Jason Moore both of Waco, Texas
Two daughters – Julie Edwards of Parker, Colorado, Lisa Dams of Plainwell, Michigan

One sister – Brooksie Cook of Keller, Texas
Seven grandchildren – Austin and Dylan Edwards, Aaron Tindell, Percy and Orion Moore, Stuart and Martin Dams

Margaret Davis, 73, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 12:57 P.M. at her home.  She was born May 30, 1943, in Adair County, to the late William and Kizzie Janes Richard. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Depp Davis Jr., on April 3, 2017, and four siblings; Pete Richard, Maggie Sneed, Bernice Taylor, Artie Lee Aaron.

Margaret was a member of Columbia-Union Presbyterian Church, worked in the food service department at Westlake Regional Hospital for 30 years, worked in the kitchen at the “Old Circle R” and worked at Fruit of the Loom.

Survivors include:

Her granddaughter – Breah Renae Davis
One brother – L.T. Richard of Columbia
Two sisters – Margie Sneed and Lucy Long both of Columbia

Diana Tucker Salmon

Diana Tucker Salmon, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ivan L. Tucker and Lucy Wilson Tucker, was born March 23, 1942 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 3:45 P.M., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in Louisville at the age of 75.

Diana and her husband, Dick were cofounders of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Campbellsville where she was a member. Her passions were devotion to Jesus, reaching out to other people for Christ, and a fierce love of her family. 

Diana was a career educator, first as an English teacher at Taylor County High School and then as the Director of the Campbellsville GED program (for twenty five years). 

She married Dick Salmon August 24, 1960. 

Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters: Kelli Manning and husband, David, Kim Hollenbach and husband, Ray and Luci Shofner and husband, Patrick all of Campbellsville. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Evangeline Litton and husband, Tyler, Katie Hollenbach, Mark Manning, Ava Ellis, Jesse Shofner and Wyatt Shofner of Campbellsville, Joe Hollenbach and wife, Laura of Winchester, Rick Manning and Zack Manning of Lexington and Greg Manning of Nashville, Tennessee and three-great-grandchildren: Maddy Hollenbach, Heath Hollenbach and Carraway Hollenbach; five brothers and three sisters: Bobby Tucker and wife, Ann, Ivan Tucker and wife, Carol, Evelyn Russell and husband, Biff, Ellen Reynolds and husband, Terry and Judy Tucker of Campbellsville, Bill Tucker of San Antonio, Texas, Jerry Tucker and wife, Margie of New Haven, Keith Tucker and wife, Pat of Warner Robins, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews- including one special niece, Amanda Hurtgen. Diana leaves a legacy of a multitude of friends as well.

She was also preceded in death by one brother: James Tucker, who died in infancy.

Janet was born in Jamestown, KY on July 10, 1935, a daughter of the late Forest and Jewel (Loy) Lawless.

She was a retired dining room supervisor at the Lake Cumberland State Park in Jamestown, KY

She was a retired social worker and a member of First Baptist Church of Russell Springs.
