Judy (Cox) Allen

Mrs. Judy (Cox) Allen of Campbellsville was born on May 17, 1947 to the late Cyrus Murrell and Inez (Dever) Cox. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at the Taylor Regional Hospital, being 71 years, 2 months, and 14 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Allen was a former beautician, and retired from the Fruit of the Loom plant after 30+ years of service. She was married to Mr. Robert Marshall Allen, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2008. She enjoyed reading and listening to music, and her beautiful singing voice will be dearly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory:
   One daughter: Melinda Hubbard of Campbellsville,
   A stepson: Marshall Allen, Jr. and wife Beth of Danville,
   Seven siblings: Rachel Hovious, Freddie Cox, Catherine Cox, Beverly Cox, Becky Antle and husband Barry, Rhonda Ray, and Karen Squires and husband Ricky, all of Campbellsville,
   Six grandchildren: Hayley Noel, Sean Noel and wife Lori, Sarah Allen, Corrina Allen, Amber Allen, and Elizabeth Allen,
   Three great-grandchildren,
   Two great-great grandchildren,
   And a host of other family and close friends.

   She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Anthony “Tony” Hubbard, and a former husband, Kenneth Amuel Hubbard.

   There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Allen on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Burial will follow in the Jones Chapel Cemetery, 580 Bass Ridge Rd, Campbellsville, KY.
   The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 2, from 5:00-8:00 PM.

Garvey Stephens

Garvey Stephens age 81, of Cynthiana, KY passed away on Saturday July 28th, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Russell County, KY on September 3rd, 1946 a son of the late Cornelius and Delphi Gosser Stephens. 

In his early life Garvey was a carpenter and plumber by trade. He enjoyed playing cards and horse racing.

Survivors include: His Spouse: Freida Stephens, Two Sons: Rodger and (Faye) Stephens of Cynthiana, KY and Michael Stephens of Georgetown, KY, One Brother: Mervin Stephens of Harrison County, One Sister: Rosaleen and (Cordell) Luttrell of Casey County, KY and Three Half-Sisters: Angie Davis, DeVonda Luttrell and Judy Sharp, Two Grandsons: Chad and (Nancy) Stephens of Georgetown, KY and Shane and (Ashlee) Stephens of Richmond, KY and Three Great Grandchildren: Destani, Ryan and Rylee.

Preceding him in death besides his parents was Two Brothers: Edgar and Vertis Stephens, Two Sisters: Norma Caruthers and Hylia Jean Sallee, Three Half Brothers: Caroll, Jerry and Jackie Stephens and One Half Sister: Jewell Stone.

Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Thursday August 2nd, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday August 3rd, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dwight Coffman officiating. Burial will be in the Trace Fork Cemetery.

Michael Allen Milby, Jr.

Mr. Michael Allen Milby, Jr. of Campbellsville passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, July 29, 2018. Born on November 11, 1967 to Michael A. “Mike” Milby, Sr., and the late Theresa (Jacobs) Milby, he was 50 years, 8 months, and 18 days of age. Mr. Milby was a mechanic by trade, and worked on heavy equipment.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed race cars and fishing, and loved teaching his grandbabies about both.

He leaves to mourn his passing:
   His wife: Mary Kathleen (Jones) Milby,
   His father: Mike Milby, Sr. of Campbellsville,
   Four children: Shara Milby and companion Jose Torres of Campbellsville, Jewel Jones and fiancé Ruben Southern of Indiana, Sara Milburn and husband Anthony of Campbellsville, and John Michael Milby of Ohio,
   Twelve grandchildren,
   His mother-in-law: Mary Jones of Campbellsville,
   A nephew: Jordan Milby of Owensboro,
   And a host of other family and close friends.

   He was also preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Wayne Milby.

   There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Milby on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 12:00 PM EST (11:00 AM CST) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Jason Keltner will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 700 Old US 68, Campbellsville, KY.
   The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 31, from 4:00-8:00 PM EST (3:00-7:00 PM CST).

Mary Alice Moss Whittle, 51, of Covington, Kentucky, formerly of Columbia, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 8:51 P.M. at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood after an illness.

She was born February 7, 1967, in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Irene Crawhorn Dial, a brother; Leland "Bear" Pelston and was a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Survivors include:
One daughter – Jessica Whittle of Cincinnati, Ohio
Two sons – Kenny Whittle of Columbia, Eric Whittle and his fiancé, Chelsea Dietrich of Erlanger
Five brothers – Harrison, Reed, Jimmy, Jerry & William Moss all of Columbia
Five sisters – Clara Maggard, Bonnie Powell, Nancy Abernathy, Debbie Foley all of Columbia, Betty Milby of Somerset
One grandchild – Grayson
Her life-partner – Jerome Robinson of Covington

Robert Lee Gilbert, 48 of Glensfork, KY passed away suddenly Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio from injuries he received in a pickup truck accident on Interstate 75 near Union, KY.

He was born November 27, 1970 in Wilmington, Ohio the son of Preston Albert and Betty Lou Corbin Gilbert. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister Betty Ann Gilbert.

Survived by his mother Betty Lou Corbin Gilbert of Glensfork, KY
One brother; Preston Wayne Gilbert and wife Maggie of Batavia, Ohio
Linda Sue Kain of Blanchester, Ohio and Joyce Allen of Blanchester, Ohio
Several other relatives and friends survive

Preston Allen Gilbert, 34 of Glensfork, KY passed away suddenly Sunday, July 29, 2018

Jane Rainbow Rodz age 50, of Liberty, KY passed away on Saturday July 28th, 2018 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was born in New Haven, CT on March 11th, 1968 a daughter of Felix Seahorse and Julia Thomas Rodz of Liberty, KY. 

Jane was a Auto Parts Employee.

Additional Survivors include: One Son: Michael Vaughn “Micco” Randall of Liberty, One Brother: Felix Rodz of Liberty and One Sister: Dee Nodelman of Georgia.

Cremation Rites were honored by Bartle Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday August 5th, 2018 at Atwood's Chapel United Methodist Church. Rev. John Edgell officiating.

She was long time owner of Tangles Hair Salon and member of Liberty Baptist Church.

She was born  on  Sunday June 18, 1967 in Columbia, Kentucky Daughter of :
    Mother - Patsy McElroy Hare, Russell Springs, Kentucky
    Father - Richard Hare, Russell Springs, Kentucky
She is also survived by :
    1 Son
     Bailey Sullivan, Russell Springs, Kentucky    
She is also survived by a special friend, Steve Thomas.

Pallbearers are: Tyler Mann, Aaron Johnson, Steve Thomas,
 Chris Manley, Ronnie Morgan and Daniel Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were Daron Russell, Landon Collins, Dylan Willis and Jordan Melson. Music provided by Liberty Baptist Church Choir.

​She was preceded in death by her loving
 grandparents Colonus and Olma McElroy and Elva and Lura Harmon Hare.

Visitation will be Tuesday July 31, 2018 11:00 AM till 2:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church, Lakeway Drive, Russell Springs, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday July 31, 2018 at Liberty Baptist Church, Lakeway Drive, Russell Springs, Kentucky with Bro. Greg Estes officiating.
Interment will be in the Russell Springs City Cemetery, Lakeway Drive, Russell Springs, Kentucky.

Carl Grant Tipton

Carl Grant Tipton, of Russell Springs, formerly of Dunnville, departed from this life on July 27, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He was 73 years old at the time of his passing.

  Born on October 7, 1944, in Powell County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Hubert and Attie Rodgers Tipton.  Carl moved to Lexington in his early teenage years with his family where he played basketball for Lexington Junior High School and football for Henry Clay High School.  Soon after, he felt compelled to join the Army during the Vietnam Conflict and ended up faithfully serving 2 tours before receiving an honorable discharge from the military.

  After his military service was over he worked as a licensed plumber for a few years and later started his own roofing business, which was called Tipton’s Roofing Company.  He successfully ran this company for many years until he retired and moved to Dunnville, Kentucky in 1991.  Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, dirt track racing and being on the lake, in his pontoon, with his family and friends.  Carl was an avid bowler for many years, until he was diagnosed with cancer, and accomplished bowling 2 perfect, ABC sanctioned, 300 games as an amateur bowler.
​
  He is survived by his sons, Reggie (Ashley) Tipton of Windsor; Kevin Tipton of Paris and Roger Barber of Lexington; 9 grandchildren, Brandon Tipton, Brittney Barber, Maranda Barber, Brandy (Abi) Garcia Dominguez, Owen, Evan, Attyson Kate, Anslee and Avery Tipton; and 3 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by Glenna “Jody” Tipton of Lexington, who he was married to for more than 30 years of his life and his girlfriend Pam Cummings of Russell Springs and all of her children and grand-children, which he loved dearly.

  In addition to his parents Carl was preceded in death by 4 brothers Lenille, Roland and Johnny Meadows and Hubert Tipton Jr. and 2 sisters, Lorene Meadows and Ann McKay; 1 daughter-in-law Sherry Barber.

  The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Monday, July 30, 2018 and from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday July 31, 2018 at the McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
  The graveside service will be held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 12:30 P.M with Pastor Reggie Tipton officiating.  There will not be a processional from the funeral home, so family and friends are welcomed to meet at Camp Nelson for the graveside service.

Terry Lee Edwards, age 73 years of Simpsonville, KY formerly of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at 1:05 PM  at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY after illness.

He was born on March 15, 1945 in Columbia, KY. He was the son the late Margie Edwards Bryant Lemmond, Preceded in death by one son Efren Edwards in 1989, One brother & one sister David Bryant & Betty Jo Bryant Jarrell and his step-fathers Clifton Bryant, Ray Lemmond and cherished  life partner of 30 years Geraldine Blevins

He is survived by two daughters:
Holly Edwards Grimsley & husband Charles of Concord, North Carolina
Sherri Edwards Chunn & husband Paul of Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina
One sister:
Judy Bryant Taylor of Concord, North Carolina
Three brothers:
Randall Bryant of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Phillip Bryant of Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina & William Barry Bryant of Louisville, KY
Favorite Uncle & Aunt Lucian & Lottie Edwards of Columbia, KY
4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews and other relative & friends survive

He made a profession of faith, was a retired Heavy Equipment operator, loved to fish and spend time with family.  

Cremation was chosen and a date and time of memorial service will be available later
