Harold Ray Cowan 84, of Mission, Texas formerly of Adair County, KY passed away June 27, 2018 in Mission, Texas.  He was born in Adair County the son of the late Lomer “Cowboy” and Eva Mae Burton Cowan, he was preceded in death by his wife Lora Marie Welch Cowan on June 19, 2018.

Survived by one son; Charles Ray Cowan of Morris, Illinois
One daughter; Vicky Cowan of Joliet, Illinois
Four grandchildren Amy, Aaron, Shaunte, Brittany
One sister; Ann Cowan o Columbia, KY 
Harold is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends in Adair County.

Harold was retired from Western Electric in Montgomery, Illinois

 Cremation was chosen and burial of cremains will take place in the Haven Hill Cemetery at a later date.

She was born April 11, 1934 in Pontiac, Illinois.

Her husband Harold Cowan passed away June 27, 2018 

Survived by one son; Charles Ray Cowan of Morris, Illinois
One daughter; Vicky Cowan of Joliet, Illinois

Four grandchildren Amy, Aaron, Shaunte, Brittany
One brother;  Harold (JoAnn) Welch of Kankaee, Illinois
One sister in law; Ann Cowan of Columbia, KY.
 

Cremation was chosen and burial of the cremains in Haven Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Markilia Ruth Franklin Gomez, 25, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical in Lexington.

Survivors include:
Her mother – Carrie Turner Morgan of Columbia
Her father – Mark Franklin and his wife Melissa of Sparksville
Four children – Karissa Mounce, Mary Anna Albarez, Sophia Gomez and Ariel Gomez
Two brothers – Dakota Stotts of Columbia, Timmy Franklin of Russell Springs
One sister – Alisha Stotts of Columbia
Special uncle and aunt – Coy & Tony Turner of Columbia
Several other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Diane Powell, Coy Turner, Sr., William Henry and Bonnie Turner Franklin

A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at the Columbia Christian Church Park
Cremation was chosen by the family

Dorothy Marine age 76, of Liberty, KY passed away on Friday June 29th, 2018 at her residence.  She was born in Lothair, KY on August 3rd, 1941 a daughter of the late Robert Jasper Keith and Pearl Pelfry Keith.

Dorothy was a L.P.N. 

Survivors include: Her Spouse: Ronald Marine, Two Daughters: Cheri and (Jerry) Wilson of Yosemite and Connie and (Jerry) Dick of Bethelridge, One Son: Steven and (Cynthia) Howard of Yosemite, Fourteen Grandchildren and Twenty Three Great Grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides his parents was One Son: Ronald “David” Howard and Four Sisters: Ida Bowcock, Pearl Antico, Bobbie Joyce Moore and a Infant Sister. 

A Celebration of Life Service will announced at a later date.

Johnnie Ballenger, 93, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on June 28th at the VA Hospital in Lexington, KY.  Johnnie was born in Jamestown, KY on October 26, 1924 a son of the late Mary Jane (Lawless) and Cellie Ballenger.

He is survived by 
2 daughters Linda (David) Herriford
Marlene (Edward) McClure both of Lexington, KY
2 sisters Alene Pennington, of Dayton, OH
Pauletta Stoyall. of Shepherdsville, KY
1 brother Gary Ballenger, of Columbia, KY
4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren also survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Marie (Foley) Ballenger, 1 sister Betty Lou Stearns, and 4 brothers Glen, Leonard, Leland and Lindsey Earl Ballenger.

Funeral Services for Johnnie Ballenger will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY on Sunday July 1st 2:00pm with Bro. Bodie Emerson officiating.
Friends may visit after 12noon on Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY on Monday July 2nd, 1:30 ET.

Barbara Ann Weddle Norman

Barbara Ann Weddle Norman of Liberty, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at her home. She was 66.  Born on May 17, 1952 in Liberty, Kentucky, she was a daughter of Eardean and Eula Hatfield Weddle.

Barbara was a dedicated homemaker and caregiver. She also enjoyed baking and sewing.

In addition to her parents, she is also survived by three sons, Robert (Sherry) Norman of Liberty, Randy Norman of Liberty and Jeff (Erica) Norman of Greensburg; seven grandchildren, Spencer, Lindsey, Chelsea, Nic, Devin, Jonathon and Bryan; and three great-grandchildren, Owen, Leland and Kate. Other survivors include, three brothers and three sisters and a special friend, Brent Poff.

Barbara is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Brittany Nicole Norman.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, with Bro. Johnnie Maupin officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.

Mabel (Chumbley) Minton, age 94 year(s), 4 month(s), 4 day(s) of Windsor, Kentucky passed away, Thursday June 28, 2018 at Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, Kentucky.

She was a homemaker and a member of Jennie's Chapel United Methodist Church.

She was born  on  Monday February 25, 1924 in Russell County, Kentucky Daughter of: 
    Mother - Cassie Chumbley, Stephens, Deceased
    Father - Cornelious Chumbley, Deceased
She is also survived by: 
    2 Daughters
     Janice Roberts, Windsor, Kentucky    
     Barbara Joann Condra, Windsor, Kentucky    
    1 Son
     Dale Minton, Jamestown, Kentucky    
She is also survived by a special niece, Polly Rathbun, Windsor, KY. 6 grandchildren Sheila Luttrell, Anthony Roberts,  Alan Roberts, Kendra Cape, Kevin Roberts and Ben Lutz. 11 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren also survive.

​She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie Minton and a daughter Opal Minton.


Visitation will be Sunday July 01, 2018 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 East Steve  Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday July 02, 2018 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 East Steve  Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, Kentucky with Bro. Shannon Cain officiating.
Interment will be in the Jennie's Chapel Cemetery, Merritt Ridge Road, Windsor, Kentucky.

Billy Dean Humble, 76, of Louisville (formerly of Russell Co) passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at the home of his son. He was born September 21, 1941 in Russell County to the
late John Elliott & Vonnie Lee Popplewell Humble.

Billy was an enameler for American Standard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife who died March 17, 2005, Joann (Foley) Humble, 4 siblings, Bland Humble, James Humble, Nannie Brockman, Eudora Cooper

Survivors
Son: Michael Humble, Elizabethtown, Ky
2 Grandchildren: Zachary Humble, Grant Humble, both of E-town
2 Brothers: Calvin (Janet) Humble, Avery Humble, both of Russell Spgs.
1 Sister: Margaret (Randy) Gosser, Indianapolis, IN

Funeral service for Billy Dean Humble will be 10 AM CDT. Monday,  July 2, 2018 at the Poplar Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Haynes officiating.
Visitation 5-8 PM. Sunday at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel and after 8 AM. Monday at the church.
Interment in the Polar Grove Cemetery.

Rebecca Kay ANTLE, 58 of Jamestown, KY passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018
at 6:10 PM at the Jean Waddle Care Center, Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY after a sudden illness.  She was born on Feb 6, 1960 in Adair County, KY.  She was the daughter of the late Herman and Marcella Green Duncan.

Survived by her husband Donnie Antle of Jamestown, KY.
Two sons:
Justin Antle & his wife Tiffany of Jamestown, KY.
Xander Antle of Jamestown, KY.
One brother:
Gary Duncan of Columbia, KY.
One grandson:
Brentley Antle
Nephew Veston Duncan, niece Sheena Duncan
Several other relatives & friends survive

She was a member of Griders Chapel United Methodist Church in Russell County, and a custodian at Lindsey Wilson College.

She was recently recognized for her 10 years of service at the annual Employee Appreciation and Awards Dinner. Rebecca loved spending time with her family, friends and helping others.

Barbara Webb, age 63, of Lebanon, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, June 27th, 2018 at the University of Louisville Hospital after an illness.  She was born to the late Homer Shipp and Priney (Tungate) Shipp, both of KY, on July 3rd, 1954.

She is preceded in death by her Daughter: Kathy Harlow Thompson; Brothers: Homer Shipp, Terry Shipp; Sisters: Dorothy Plummer, Judy Taylor, Gloria Dean Axom, Nannie Wethington and Sarah Moore.

She is survived by her Husband: Donald Webb; Brother: Chester Shipp; Sister: Flora Mae Wheeler of Riley, Ky; Grandchildren: Tori Thompson, Holly Ewing and Elizabeth Ewing. 
Several nieces and nephews also survive along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Barbara will be conducted on Saturday, June 30th, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Campbell-Fisher Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Lanham officiating.
The family requests visitation on Friday, June 29th, 2018 after 5:00 P.M. at Campbell-Fisher Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Old Liberty Cemetery.
