Valarie Eileen “White” Dunbar 1947-2022

Valarie Eileen “White” Dunbar was born November 10, 1947, to the late Robert and Ellarie Skaggs White.  She departed this life, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at The Health Care Center at Standifer Place in Chattanooga, Tennessee, having attained the age of seventy-five years and twenty days.
​
Mrs. Dunbar was of the Christian faith.  She worked as a certified nursing assistant.  She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family. 

​Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands: James C. Baxter and Clyde Dunbar, one son, Paul Dunbar, two brothers and one sister-in-law: Robert White, Jr., Wendell White and Di Ann White.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law:  Cary and Stephanie Dunbar of Greensburg, Craig and Corene Dunbar of Petersburg, Alaska, and Gary and Serena Baxter of China, two daughters and sons-in-law:  Kimberly and Scott Montgomery of Greensburg and Meagan and Roque (pronounced Rocky) Habana of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, two brothers, one sister, one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law:  Clenny White of Oregon, and Brendan and Kae White of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Gwendolyn and Walter Schrammel of Colorado, and Dawn White of California.  Fifteen grandchildren: Cary Matthew Dunbar, Mason Dunbar, Ronnie Jaden Hall, Joshua Hall, Dannie Joshua Dunbar, Dineane Rose Dunbar Schmitz, Harley Edward Dunbar, Madison Breanna Montgomery, Alex Christian Montgomery, Andrew Cole Montgomery, Hezekiah L. Hall, Linae Ann Furkins, Rhoda Faye Baxter, Michiah J. Baxter, and Deborah Baxter, eleven great grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Valarie Eileen White Dunbar will be conducted at 2 pm Central Time Monday, December 5, 2022, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.  Bro. Wilburn Bonta will be officiating the funeral service.  Cremation will follow the funeral service.  There will be a committal service and burial to follow 11 am Central Time Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Fry Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:30 am until the funeral time at 2 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Gideons for Bibles or to Fry Cemetery.  These can be made at the funeral home.

Opal Goode Watson 1933-2022

Opal Watson, 89, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at TJ Health/ Columbia

She was born March 25, 1933, in Adair County, to the late Clarence and Nannie Hardin Goode. 

​In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. “Buck” Watson, her daughter, Linda Sue Watson Judd, a great-granddaughter, Jude Honeywood Powell and two brothers, L.J. Goode and Richard Marshall Goode.
​

Opal was a long-time member of Tabernacle Christian Church and later a member of Shiloh Christian Church. She was a Sunday School Teacher for years, a former merchant, Real Estate Broker and retired from the Adair County Health Department as a Clinical Assistant.  She loved gardening, sewing, handwork, solving puzzles and cooking family dinners.

Survivors include:
Her son and daughter-in-law – Jerry and Adelia Watson of Cane Valley
Four grandchildren – Michelle Powell (Brent), Joseph Watson (Stephanie), Alison Coffey (Matt), Russ Judd (Karen)
Nine great-grandchildren – Luc Powell, Griff Powell, Audrey Watson, Graham Watson, Bailey Coffey, Luke Coffey, Carson Jud, Carli Judd and Kate Judd
A son-in-law – Barry Judd (Debbie) of Richmond
Several other relatives and friends

Lillian L. Randolph, age 87, of Goshen, OH, passed away on Wednesday November 30th, 2022, at the Venetian Gardens Nursing Home. She was born March 7th, 1935, in Middleburg, KY, a daughter of the late Coleman Taylor Luster and Elenora Ellis Luster.

Lillian was housewife.

Survivors include: One Daughter: Janice Walker of Goshen, OH, Three Grandchildren: Danielle Brewer, Phillip Rice, Chris Walker, One Great Grandchild: Dee Marie Cody, Three Great-Great Grandchlidren: Monroe, Dallas Lynn and Lincoln Cody, and One Sister: Ada Faye Salyers of Middleburg.

Preceding her in death besides her parents was: Her Spouse: William Ben Randolph, One Sister: Helen Harvill and One Brother: Cecil Luster.

Visitation will be held 10:30 A.M.  Saturday December 3rd, 2022, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday December 3rd, 2022, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Bud Stidham officiating. Burial will be in the Middleburg Cemetery.

Edd Wayne Thompson 1946-2022

Edd Wayne Thompson of Buffalo, Kentucky, son of the late Orvis Thompson and Stella T. Stilts Curry, was born on Wednesday, October 23, 1946 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at his home. He was 76 years, one month, and seven days of age.
​
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Hodgenville United Methodist Church. He was a former service writer for Ford Motor Company and was an avid U.K. Wildcat fan.

Survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlotte Kuhn Thompson of Buffalo, having united in marriage on March 8, 1969.

Other survivors include a son: Allen Wayne Thompson of Buffalo; a sister and brother-in-law: Stella and Steve Durrett of Greensburg; former sisters-in-law: Brenda Taylor and husband, Daryl of Greensburg, and Margret Thompson of Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Thompson was also preceded in death by brothers: Orville Thompson, James Thompson, William Curry, and Ray Curry.

Honoring his wishes, cremation was chosen. A memorial service for Edd W. Thompson, conducted by the family, will be held at 4:00 Eastern Time, Sunday at the Hodgenville United Methodist Church. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in charge of all other arrangements.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the National Kidney Foundation, which can be made through the funeral home.

Reva Gale Rodgers of the Exie Community of Green County, was born on December 12, 1944 in Green County, Kentucky to the late Elmo and Inez Judd Bagby. She departed this life on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at her home having attained the age of 77 years, 11 months and 17 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Community Baptist Church. She was a beautician and operated Reva Gale’s Beauty Salon in Exie. Gale enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and doing embroidery.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Bobby Wayne Rodgers, having united in marriage on December 19, 1964.
​
Other survivors include one daugther and son-in-law: Teresa and Dennis Tobin of Exie; two granddaughters: Latisha Malay Forman of Edmonton and Virjillia Dane “Jill” Shipp and husband James Matthew of Campbellsville; two great-grandsons: Dagyn Milby and Bentley Forman; one sister: Barbara Beauchamp of Green County; plus a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters: Bernard Bagby, Lavella Turner, Kledith Houk and Phyllis Akin.

The funeral services for Mrs. Reva Gale Rodgers will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery. Bro. Thomas Metcalfe, Bro. Wayne Morgan and Bro. Mark Lile officiating.
Visitation is requested from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Thursday and after 7 A.M. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.

Erna Wheat Dobson Sidebottom of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late William Edward Dobson and Hattie Emma Perkins Dobson, was born on Wednesday, November 12, 1930 in Menard County, Illinois and departed this life on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 in Campbellsville. She was 92 years, and 17 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church. She was a seamstress, farmed with her late husband, had worked for the former Clark Casual Furniture Mfg., and was a domestic engineer in which she was an excellent cook.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harold Lewis Sidebottom on November 29, 2008 having united in marriage on May 27, 1947.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Don and Nancy Sidebottom of Greensburg; a daughter and son-in-law: Connie and Bill Collins of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Scott Collins of Ohio, Shea White, and Spencer and Rebekah Sidebottom all of Campbellsville; five great-grandchildren: Collin White, Savannah White, Zoie Sidebottom, Jaxon Sidebottom, and Brody Sidebottom; two sisters: Katherine Smith of Illinois, and Mabel Marten of Virginia; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jim and Ona Sidebottom, and Sylvia Sidebottom; her beloved dog: Little Man; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Sidebottom was also preceded in death by a brother: William Buckner Dobson; and several half-siblings.

Services for Erna Wheat Dobson Sidebottom will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Central Time, Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Chapel and Mausoleum. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, Greensburg in charge of the service arrangements.

Joseph Leon Lanham 1944-2022

Joseph Leon Lanham, age 78 of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Spring View Hospital. He was born April 17, 1944 in Lebanon to the late Joseph Leonard and Ruby Brady Lanham. Leon was most known for his love for his wife. You didn’t see one without the other. He and Carol raised three children and gave them a life anyone would be lucky to have. But Leon always said that he was the lucky one. Leon raised his family by working his concrete plant and on his beloved farm on Pope’s Creek Road and taking care of his cattle. He dedicated his life to those cows! Anyone who knew Leon knew his big voice and even bigger personality. Everyone knew when he entered the room or entered the pool. His laugh would leave a smile on anyone’s face, and if it didn’t, then his stories definitely would.

Besides his parents, Leon was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lanham; sisters, Carolyn Flock, Bernice Lanham, and Margaret George.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carol Allen Lanham of Lebanon; son Joseph Steven (Michelle) Lanham of Lebanon; daughters, Karen (Roger) Cobb, and Lorrie Lanham, both of Lebanon; brothers J.L. (Mary Ann) Lanham, and Jerry (Janie) Lanham, both of Lebanon; sisters, Lois (Joe) Newton, and Edith Caldwell of Calvary; 6 grandchildren, Kurt Lanham of Lebanon, John Lanham of Lebanon, Caroline Cobb of Lebanon, Kate Cobb of Baltimore, MD, Max (Ciera) Cobb of Lebanon, and Arriston Lanham of Lebanon; 2 step-grandchildren, Jonathan Garrett of Lebanon, and Amanda (Nathan) Fogle of Loretto; also surviving are 4 step-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 03, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, December 02, 2022 at Bosley Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. officiated by Deacon Joseph R. Dant. Visitation will also be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church from 9:00 A.M. until time of service on Saturday, December 03, 2022.

Tammy Sue Wright Bryant of Green County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Stephen Foster Wright and Patty Sue Arnett Wright, was born on Thursday, June 24, 1971 in Louisville and departed this life on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Norton’s Women’s and Children Hospital in Louisville. She was 51 years, five months, and five days of age.She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church. She was a former ICU Telemetery Clerk for Taylor Regional Hospital.

She was survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Daniel Keith Bryant III of Munfordville, Stephen Wayne and Cheyanne Nichole Bryant of Harrodsburg; her fiancé: Jerome Adam “Jeremy” Pike of Green County; a stepdaughter: Gabbie Pike of Casey County; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Tammy Sue Wright Bryant will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Bro. Jerry Scott and James Bonta officiating.

William “Bill” Blane Moran 1939-2022

William “Bill” Blane Moran, born March 26, 1939 to Oather and Christine Moran in Greensburg, Kentucky, died November 28, 2022 at his favorite place, “The Farm.”

Survived by his wife, of sixty-three years, Wanda Elam Moran; daughters:  Vickie Coulson of Des Moines, Iowa and Phyllis King (Kris) of Lakeland, Florida; son, Bill Moran, Jr. (Kim) of Clemmons, North Carolina; daughter-in-law, Christine Moran Cundiff (Tommy) of Campbellsville; brothers:  Dennis Moran (Cathy) of Chicago, Illinois; Grady DeWitt (Cora Mae) of Grab, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Phillip W. Elam (Brenda) of Brentwood, Tennessee.
He was “Grandpa” to thirteen grandchildren:  Rachel Ashley (James), Courtney  Moran, Jordan Moran, Cody Moran, Alexandrya Moran, Kara-Lynn Moran, Chastity Milan (Gregg), Makayla Fagan (Shawn), Ryan Coulson (Lauren), Michael Leitner (Tiffany), John Seydlitz (Rachel), Mark Paul and Christina Korsiak, and thirteen great-grandchildren  He will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. 
​
Predeceased by his son, James Wayne Moran and a sister, Rachel Blankenship.

He was a Korean War Veteran, serving the country in the U. S. Army.  He professed his faith in Jesus when he was thirty years old and was happy to serve in the Lord’s Army taking on various roles such as:  Adult Sunday School Teacher, Church Treasurer, serving on the Missions Committee and helping with visitation and any other needed areas.  He served as the head of the Softball League in Chicago for area churches for many years.

He retired after twenty-one years from A & P Grocery and sixteen years from Berry Bearing in Chicago.  He moved to Campbellsville after retiring where he worked eleven years with Hord’s Landscaping.

After his love of God, family, country came “The Farm”, and all his animals including Cindy, his “Queen Dog.”

Earnest Richardson 1940-2022

​Earnest Richardson of Campbellsville, son of the late Harrison Richardson and Ruth Bryant Richardson, was born November 3, 1940 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  He died at 11:35 P.M., Monday, November 28, 2022 in Campbellsville.   Age: 82
​
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Union Band Baptist Church.

He served his country honorably in the United States National Guard.

Earnest was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville until the plant closed, then worked approximately twenty years at Kentucky Cooperage.  He was also a farmer and his family said he was a very hard worker.

He united in marriage to Judy A. Harris January 17, 1975 and she preceded him in death May 31, 2013.

Earnest enjoyed drag racing in his younger years.

He is survived by one sister, Stella Thompson and husband, Donnie of Campbellsville; two nieces:  Melinda DeSpain and Lisa VanMeter and husband, Terry of Campbellsville; two great-nephews and one great-niece:  Cody VanMeter, Austin VanMeter and MaKenzie DeSpain and many other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by a sister, Millie Parker.
