Naomi Lee Vibbert age 88 of Knob Lick passed away Tuesday at her home.   She was the daughter of the late Henry Square and Mary Jane Wright Compton.  

She was a homemaker.  

She is survived by two sons.   Michael (Kathy) Vibbert of Center.  James (Wanda) Vibbert of Knob Lick.   Six daughters.    Patricia Rhinehart of Savoyard.   Barbara (Dean) Page of Glasgow, Gladys Rhinehart and Elizabeth Burton of Knob Lick, Fonda Coomer of Edmonton and Nelda (Dewayne) Crews of Knob Lick.  20 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren, 51 great great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Alvis and Henry Compton.  One sister Beatrice Cross, a granddaughter Felicia Humphrey and 1 great great grandson Evan Burton.


Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM  Saturday, March 2nd at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Walker Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday and after 9:00 AM  Saturday at the funeral home.

Mary Ann Mattingly, age 71, of Campbellsville, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at her residence.  She was born on November 26, 1947 in Lebanon, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Apollonia Clark Thomas; two brothers, Randell Williams and Joseph “J.V.” Williams; sister, Jean Carol Edelen.

Survivors include her two daughters, Melissa (Jerry) Mardis of Campbellsville, KY, Judy Kay Ruley of Lebanon, KY; sister, Wanda Akers of Lebanon, KY; seven grandchildren, Briana Mardis, Tiffany Hardin, Amber Ruley, Haley Ruley, Cameron Ruley, Patrick Ruley, and Sara Grace Ruley.
Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 01, 2019 at the St. Augustine Catholic Church. Cremation to follow after Funeral Mass.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Bosley Funeral Home, with a prayer service that will be held at 7:00 P.M.; officiated by Deacon Joe Dant.

Ernestine Kemp Lloyd, 75, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 8:25 A.M. at Summit Manor Nursing Home.

She was born June 21, 1943, in the Bliss community of Adair County, to the late Owen and Marie Emma Rogers Kemp and also preceded in death by her brother, George Rayburn Kemp.

Ernestine loved watching the Adair County Indians, University of Kentucky Wildcats and the Adair County Band. She was a member and piano player at the Gradyville United Methodist Church, a former factory worker at several different sewing factories and retired from the Adair County School System where she was a cook at ACHS.

Survivors include:
Two sons – Doyle Lloyd and his wife Carolee of Columbia, Jeff Lloyd and his wife Heather of Chicago, Illinois
Two daughters – Cynthia Mann and Teresa Ballou both of Columbia
One sister – Jean Wheeler and her husband Lewis of Columbia
11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
Several other relatives and friends

Jimmie H. Rodgers, 80, of the Portland community in Adair County, died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 1:31 P.M. at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

He was born May 6, 1938, in Adair County, to the late Pierce and Lora Posey Rodgers and was also preceded in death by his sister; Zelphar Smith and his brothers; Augustus “Cricket” Rodgers and Isiah “Shorty” Rodgers and a nephew; John Smith. 

Jimmie was a member of Tarter’s Chapel United Methodist Church and a farmer.

Survivors include:
Two nephews – Louis Smith and his wife Rhonda, Charles Smith and his wife Vickie all of Columbia
One niece – Zenda Pepper and her husband James of Columbia
One Great-Nephew – Daniel (Jeannie) Smith
Four Great-Nieces – Laura Akers and her husband Jason, Beth Little and her husband Micah, Lisa Smith, Kristina Stearns and her husband Drew
Two Great-Great Nephews – Isaac and Oakley
Three Great-Great Nieces- Kylee, Alivia and Jayla

Grace Davis Feese

Grace Davis Feese, 96, of Columbia died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Summit Manor Nursing Home.  Born in Romines, KY she was the daughter of the late Lester and Rebecca Roark Davis and wife of the late Willie Mat Feese, Sr.

Mrs. Feese was a member of the Beulah Chapel Brethren In Christ Church at Garlin, KY.  She was a very loving mother and wife and loved spending time with all of her family.

Survivors include her five children Margie Collins (Jack), Bertha Goodin and Willie Mat Feese, Jr. (Donna) all of Columbia, Eileen Hamilton (Paul) of Danville, KY and Barbara Frazier (Mark) of Hephzibah, GA; 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.  In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 9 siblings.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the funeral home and continue Friday morning until time for the service.

Bro. Clifton Bennett will be officiating and pallbearers will be Jeff Feese, Craig Feese, Eric Goodin, Chris Maurath, Josh Frazier, Jonathan Frazier and Kevin Hamilton.

Helen Marie Loy

Helen Marie Loy, the daughter of the late Delmar and Callie Burress Mings, was born Tuesday, January 15, 1929 in Taylor County and departed this life on Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Harrodsburg at the James B. Haggin Hospital. She was 90 years, 1 month and 10 days of age.

          She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Stoner Creek United Methodist Church and was a homemaker and worked with her husband on the farm. She enjoyed sewing, reading and crocheting.

           She united in marriage to Carl Loy, who preceded her in death on May 26, 2018.

          Survivors include a daughter: Sheila Hollon and husband David of Campbellsville; a grandson: Anthony Hollon and companion Tonya Mann of Campbellsville and a host of other relatives and friends.

          The funeral service for Helen Marie Loy will be conducted Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Callahan Cemetery.

Luther James "L.J." Curry

​Mr. Luther James "L.J." Curry of Green County, Kentucky, son of the late Stanley Curry and Lorene Sneed Curry, was born on Saturday, March 1, 1941 in Green County, and departed this life on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville.  He was 77 years, 11 months, and 24 days of age.

          He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a self-employed logger.

          Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Cooper Curry on March 27, 1998 having united in marriage on March 22, 1960.

          Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: James E. "Jamie" and Carla Ann Curry of Green County; a daughter and son-in-law: Lesa and Bruce Johnson of Green County; his companion: Joyce Avra of Green County; five grandchildren and their spouses: Allen and Deanna Robertson, Bethany and Charles Jewell all of Green County, and Erik and Erin Robertson of Elizabethtown, Jason Hewitt of Arizona and Jacob Johnson of North Carolina; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters and seven brothers: Peggy Massey, Phillip Curry both of Indiana, Richard Curry, Charlie Curry, Marvin Curry, Larry Curry, Gary Curry all of Green County, Davis Curry and Edith Ford of Adair County; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

         Mr. Curry was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: Willard Joe Curry and Glenda Faye Cochran.

          The funeral services for Mr. L.J. Curry will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Central Time, Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Dannie Nelson officiating.

         Visitation is requested from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Thursday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Friday until time of the funeral service.

​Bernice C. Willis, 86, of Jamestown, KY, passed away Friday, February 22nd, at her residence. . 

Bernice C. was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 10, 1932, a daughter of the late Josephine (Czarneaki) and Guernsey Stebbings

She served in the U.S. Navy as a Pvt in the Korean War.

Bernice C. is survived by two daughters, Theresa (Romal) Selby, of Jamestown, KY; 
Bonnie (Mike) Lekas, of Jacksonville, FL; a son,Richard,(Debra) Willis, Jr, of Jasper, AL. 

She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard Willis, and a brother Guernsey Stebbings,Jr.

Graveside Services at Mill Springs National Cemetery, Nancy, KY, at 1:30pm CST on Wednesday, February 27th, with Military Honors by the Russell County Honor Guard,

Family request memorial donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or Lifeline Home Health.

William Garnett Bault

William Garnett Bault of Campbellsville, son of the late Basil Bault and Bertie Hovious Bault, was born November 1, 1929, in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 9:15 P.M., Monday, February 25, 2019 in Louisville.         Age: 89

He professed faith in Christ and was a long time active member of Palestine Baptist Church serving in many capacities such as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Music Leader and was honored to be named a Deacon Emeritus.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served his country honorably in the United States Army.

William was a carpenter, farmer and former employee of Overhead Door Company. He was a jack of all trades and could repair anything with duck tape and WD40. He was a devoted husband, father and doting grandfather who was known for his witty sense of humor and love of peanut brittle, which he kept handy for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

He united in marriage to Barbara Jean Fawcett October 4, 1953 and she preceded him in death April 21, 2017.

He is survived by one daughter, Ruthie Bender of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Robert Bender of Campbellsville and Jenna Lee and husband, David of Cookeville, Tennessee; one brother and one sister: Leonard Bault of Cane Valley and Betty Willis of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Bault September 14, 2018 and two brothers and six sisters: Leon Bault, Gordon Bault, Maxine Stonecipher, Lonita Hancock, Annelle Cox, Doris Combs, Judy Estes and Mary Evelyn Lee.

Randy Rogers was born March 11, 1955 in Campbellsville, KY to Lucille Garrett of Campbellsville and the late Ralph Rogers. He departed this life Monday, February 25, 2019 at a Springfield, Tennessee Hospital, having attained the age of sixty-three years, eleven months and fourteen days.

He was an owner and operator of a heating and air conditioner business. He was a United State Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. Besides his father, he is preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Rogers and one brother, Rudy Rogers.

He is survived by his wife: Betty Warren Rogers of Cross Plains, Tennessee, one son: Ryan Wendell Rogers of Buffalo and one daughter: Chelsie Rogers of Cross Plains, Tennessee, his mother: Lucille Garrett of Campbellsville, one brother: Rob Harris of Campbellsville, one sister Kelly Turner of Hodgenville and four grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen for Randy Rogers. There will be no services. For more information call Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.
