Eugene West age 71 of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 at 9:26 PM at his home after an illness. He was born on May 16, 1944 in Welch, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Earl & Masie Blankenship West.

He was preceded in death by three brothers Virgil West, Ken West & Elbert West.

He is survived his wife Rachel Basey West of Columbia, KY.
Three brothers: James West & his wife Judy of Glensfork, KY; Jerry West & his wife Kim of Franklin, TN & Roger Dale West & his wife Joan of Nashville, TN.
Four sisters: Joyce Hicks of Glensfork, KY, June Hurler of Vansant, Virginia; Bernice Hagerman of Mendota, Virginia; & Peggy Smith & her husband David of Orlando, FL
Three step-children: Alisha Bates, Ashley Gomez & Josh Witt of Columbia, KY
several nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survives

He was a truck driver, He served his county in U. S. Army 101st. Airborne in both Vietnam & Desert Storm

Graveside service Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at 8:00 AM CST at the Mill Springs National Cemetery at Nancy, KY.
Clergy officiating Rev. Curtis Stacy with full Military Honors present by the local VFW Post 6097
from Columbia burial will follow.

Ruth M. Shroyer

Ruth M. Shroyer, 88, of Shelbyville, IN formerly of Jamestown, KY passed away on Dec.29th in IN.

Ruth was born in Cincinnati, OH, on May 17, 1927, a daughter of the late Helen (Hughes) and Frank Keller.

Ruth was a former store owner and the widow of William Shroyer.

She is survived by four sons: Robert Shroyer, of Columbia City, IN; Mike (Pam) Shroyer, of Shelbyville, IN; Glen Shroyer , of Shelbyville, IN; Terry (Angie) Shroyer, of Bethel Ridge, KY.
two daughters Lynn (Mark) Thomas, of Shelbyville, IN and Judy (Norman) Johns, of Rushville, IN
10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren also survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband William Shroyer.

Funeral Services will be Thur. 1:00pm at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY with Bro. Bodie Emerson officiating.
Friends may visit after 10:00am at the funeral home,
Burial in the Jamestown City Cemetery.

Joe Grant age 76 years of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday December 29, 2015 at 2:50 P.M. at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on Feb. 12, 1939 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Walter & Ruby Beard Grant.

Preceded in death by one brother Victor Grant

He is survived by his wife Pat Radford Grant of Columbia, KY

Three daughters Sherry McGrath & her husband Steve of LaGrange, KY; Julie Cowan & her husband Brian of Columbia, KY; and  Beth Ellison & her husband Bo of Columbia, KY
One brother Earl Grant of Columbia, KY
One sister Patricia Yates of Columbia, KY
7 Grandchildren Brett McGrath, Kayla McGrath, Derek Brockman, Jake Brockman, Kylie Cowan, Haley Ellison & Emma Ellison
several nieces, nephews & friends survives

Randall Martin

Randall Martin, age 57, of Yosemite, KY, passed away on Tuesday December 29th, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Liberty, KY on February 6th, 1958 to the late Sherman Allen and Opal Marie Dunham Martin. 

He was a former employee of Timberland and a member of Green River Christian Church. 
Survivors include his spouse: Irma Kaye Brown Martin, Two Sons: Shannon Martin of Hustonville and Shawn Martin of Yosemite, Three Daughters: Stephanie Martin and Sara Martin both of Yosemite and Samantha Robinson of Junction City. Nine Grandchildren, One Brother: Donald Ray Martin of Liberty and One Sister: Connie Gail Davis of Versailles. 

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by One Brother: Ronald Allen Martin. 

Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. Thursday December 31st, 2015 and after 8:00 A.M. Friday January 1st, 2015 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday January 1st, 2015 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Kevin Pittman officiating. Burial will be in the Middleburg Cemetery.

Charlotte Rose Ice, age 44 days, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. 

Born November 16, 2015, in Onslow Co., NC, she was the daughter of Corey and Amber Tucker Ice. Survivors include her parents; maternal grandfather, Jeremy (Adrienne) Tucker of Liberty; maternal grandmother, Melissa Warren of Liberty; maternal great-grandfather, Jerry Tucker of Liberty; paternal grandfather, William (Dana) Ice of Springfield, MO; paternal grandmother, Shayla Davis of Springfield, MO; paternal great-grandfather, Wayne Davis of Springfield, MO; paternal great-grandmother, Debbie Gaston of Springfield, MO; and several aunts, uncles, and other family survive. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, December 21, 2015, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Derick Terry officiating. Visitation will be from 10AM until time of funeral at the Church. Burial will follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery.

Joy Ellender Vibbert

Joy Ellender Vibbert 83 of Glasgow died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at her home. She was born at Slick Rock, KY the daughter of the late Carl "Doc" Patrick and Junie Bowles Patrick. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe T. Vibbert, sisters Essie May Patrick and Anna Lee Harper Wright and brothers Carl Veachel Patrick and Benjamin "Benny" Patrick.

Joy was a super cook, an extremely talented seamstress and a loving mother, grandmother, wife and special friend. She worked for Louisville Textiles for many years and retired from Michael's Draperies of Louisville. Mrs. Vibbert was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Evangel Christian Church in Louisville.

She is survived by a daughter Anita A. Vibbert of Glasgow; a son Jeffrey L. Vibbert (Malinda) of Mt. Washington, KY; 2 step sons Darrin Vibbert of Glasgow and Darrell Vibbert of Brandenburg; sister Lucy Imogene Flowers; brother James Andrew Patrick (Jeanie) both of Glasgow; grandchildren Bruce S. Archer II, Randi L. Vibbert, Jennifer L. Jeffries (Shawn) and Joshua T. Vibbert; great-grandchildren Stephen M. Archer, Justin B. Archer; Abagail Jane Warner; Noah James Lyons, Aubrey "Joy" Jeffries and Brayden Michael Jeffries. Several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 1, 2016 at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 5pm Thursday.

Betty Sue (Sanders) Wethington

Betty Sue (Sanders) Wethington, age 74, of Hillview, KY, formerly of Clementsville, KY returned to our Heavenly Father on December 29, 2015. 

Born May 11, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Audy and Annie Campbell Sanders. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James, Wayne, Joe and Charles Sanders. Mrs. Wethington was a homemaker and a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 57 years, Frank “Joe Matt” Wethington; daughters, Beverly Wethington, Karen Hardin (Greg), Jennifer Wethington and Holly Wethington; grandchildren, Brittany, Olivia, Casey, Phoebe and Priscilla; and siblings, Kenneth Sanders, Carl Sanders, Merle Jean Greer, Margaret Bryant and Jeanette Stargel. 

Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 3-8 pm at the Preston Highway Schoppenhorst Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy. Shepherdsville, KY) and Friday, January 1, 2016 from 12-4 pm at McKinney Brown Funeral Home in Liberty, KY with a prayer service to follow.

Odell Keith Dotson

 Mr. Odell Keith Dotson of Campbellsville was born on March 31, 1951 to the late Jake and Bessie (Martin) Dotson in Greensburg. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness. He was 64 years, 8 months, and 29 days of age. Mr. Dotson was a farmer and construction worker by trade. He professed faith in  Christ and was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves to mourn his passing:
   His wife: Carol S. (Wethington) Dotson
   Five children: Jamie Cook, Robert Dotson and wife Carolyn, Carol Lynn Dotson and husband Justin Teel, Roger Dale Dotson, and Jonathon Dotson, all of Campbellsville,
   Four siblings: Glenda Dennison, Helen Wooldridge Jones and husband Mike, John Dotson, and Delbert Dotson, all of Campbellsville,
   Eleven grandchildren,
   One great-grandchild,
   Close friends: Timmy Dickens, Kevin Davis, and Brian Davis,
   And a host of other extended family and friends.

   There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Odell Dotson on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 1:00 PM EST in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Interment will follow in the Otter Creek Church Cemetery.

   The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 30, from 5-8 PM.

Joe Dial, 78, of Whitesburg, formerly of Columbia, died Monday, December 28, 2015 at 3:07 P.M. at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in Whitesburg. 

He was born January 24, 1937, in Adair County, to the late Clyde & Janie Crawhorn Dial.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Taylor Dial.  He attended the Columbia Church of God and was a farmer. 

Survivors Include: 
One Daughter – Louise Dial (Regina Caudill) of Jeremiah, KY 
One Son – Larry Dial of Columbia 
Five Brothers – Charles, James, William & Marshall Dial all of Columbia & Mitchell Dial of Columbus, IN 
One Sister – Martha Matney of Columbia 
Several Other Relatives & Friends also survive 

Funeral Service – Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Conover officiating 

Burial in Columbia Cemetery

Opal Marie Clark

Opal Marie Clark 87 of Glasgow died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. The Barren County native was the daughter of the late Eskle Oakes and Martha J. Houchens Oakes. Her husband was the late Robert F. "Bob" Clark. Mrs. Clark was a former employee of the Kroger Co. and was a member of The Freewill Baptist Church.


She is survived by one son Jerry Clark and wife Wanda of Shepherdsville; 1 granddaughter Dee Petzold and husband Siegi of Louisville; 1 great granddaughter Kristen Schmidt and husband Kyle and 1 brother Bobby Oakes and wife Joyce of Louisville. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Tana Clark and a great grandson Cody Hatfield, two brothers and two sisters.


Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 31st at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11am until time for the service.
