Avon Keltner of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Rev. F. B. Hulse and Lula Bronaugh Hulse, was born June 12, 1915, in Christian County, Kentucky. She died at 10:40 A.M., Sunday, February 28, 2016 in Campbellsville. Age: 100
​

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. 

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and she had her own alternation business up until age 90. 
She united in marriage to Daniel T. Keltner June 23, 1934. He preceded her in death September 26, 1997. 

She is survived by two sons: Ken Keltner and wife, JoAyne and Danny Keltner of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Steven Keltner of Bowling Green, Jennifer Harris and husband, Bill of Knoxville, Tennessee, Becky Keltner Barbarick and husband, Steve of Brentwood, Tennessee, Wesley Keltner and wife, Erin of Lexington and Jayson Crenshaw and wife, Stephanie and Brandon Crenshaw and wife, Faun of Campbellsville; two great-granddaughters: Peyton Brooke Barbarick and Keely Ayne Crenshaw; one sister, Martha Dunbar of Columbia; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Charles Hulse, Bennett Hulse and Jane Hulse.

Leona Elizabeth Ingram of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Campbellsville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Lucian Johnson and Anna Loyall Johnson, was born on February 8, 1922 in Taylor County, and departed this life on Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Park Terrace Health Campus in Louisville. She was 94 years and 18 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with her Master's Degree in Education and was a retired school teacher after teaching at Sand Lick and with the Jefferson County Board of Education. She was also a member of the Kentucky Education Association.

Survived by her husband of 67 years, Morris W. Ingram of Louisville, Kentucky formerly of Greensburg. Other survivors include a brother-in-law: John W. Ingram of Louisville; a sister-in-law: Judy Spurgeon of Bowling Green; nieces and nephews: Johnnie and Sally Price of Louisville, Haywood and Barbara Marr, Billy and Louise Price, and Frances Price Money all of Summersville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Ingram was also preceded in death by a brother: Woodrow Johnson; and two sisters: Carrie Price and Mae Johnson.

The funeral services for Leona Elizabeth Ingram will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Ladies Chapel Church. Bro. Garnett Wayne Davis and Bro. William Davenport will be officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Sunday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Monday until time of the funeral service.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church, which can be made at the funeral home.

Mrs. Athol B. Sallee Milby, age 90, of Summersville, passed away on Saturday at the Nortons Hospital in Louisville.

She is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law: Arthur L. & Brenda Milby of Louisville, Boyce Phillip Milby, Jr. & Wilma of Summersville, and Roger Allen & Celia Milby of Louisville.

2 sisters and 1 brother: Laura Mae Dudgeon of Campbellsville, Mary Elizabeth Vance of Greensburg, and Damon Sallee of Campbellsville.

A sister-in-law: Dixie Marcum of Summersville

5 grandchildren: Chris & Dena Milby of Louisville, Keisha Milby Boog & Bobby of Louisville, Greg & Jennifer Milby of Elizabethtown, Derrick & Sara Milby of Louisville, and Courtney Milby Mattingly & Joe of Mt. Washington.

A granddaughter-in-law: Karen Millner Milby of Louisville

The funeral services for Mrs. Athol B. Sallee Milby will be conducted at 10AM Tuesday at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, with burial in the Green County Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4 - 8 PM Monday and after 7AM Tuesday at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund or the American Cancer Society and these can be made at the funeral home.

Mary Eva Curtis Denson, 59 of Stanford passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016. Born July 18, 1956, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruby Crowe Curtis.

She is survived by three sons: Jeff Denson and Scott Denson, both of Stanford and Brandon (Kayla) Denson of McKinney; three sisters: Pam (Dennis) Ledford of Danville, Vivian (Mark) Hogue of Moreland and Vicky Worthington of Hustonville; six grandchildren: Cara, Elizabeth, Ashlyn and Kyndall, Hannah Denson-Hurlbert and Shay Schmiers; and her companion of 15 years, Rodney Hawkins.

Mary was preceded in death by a brother, David Coffman.

Nina Earlene Dunbar, 88, of Russell Springs, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown. She was born November 24, 1927 in Russell County to the late Otha Lee & Belba Dunbar Popplewell.

She was a retired factory worker and a member of Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benfer Dunbar; a sister, Gertie Johnson; and 5 brothers, Mose, Otto Vernon, Jack, Roger and Phillip Popplewell.

Survivors include
3 children: Danny Lee (Linda) Foster, York, S.C.; Peggy (Stephen) Yates, Lexington, Ky and 
Connie (Roger) Blankenship, Jamestown
7 grandchildren-11 great grandchildren
2 sisters: Evelyn Lee, Liberty, Ky. and  Dinah Thomas, Russell Springs

Funeral service for Nina Earlene Dunbar will be 11 AM. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Coffey, Bro. Charles Edwards and Jeff Hoover officiating.

Johnnie Janes, 79, of the Milltown/Portland community, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 3:12 A.M. at TJ Health-Columbia 

He was born October 8, 1936, in Adair County, to the late Galon and Sallie Keltner Janes.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Keltner Janes, two brothers, Lewis & Bill Janes and one sister, Ruth Burris.  Johnnie was well known throughout the area for teaching singing schools and the Johnnie Janes singers.  He was a retired farmer and attended Pollard’s Chapel United Methodist Church. 

Survivors include: 
Six children – Sherry (Kenny) Darnell of Greensburg, Eugene (Kathy) Janes of Russell Springs, Charles Janes, Barry (Jenny) Janes, Jeff Janes and Brandon (Lisa) Janes all of Milltown 
Four brothers – Ollen, Payne & Herbert Janes all of Milltown, Norman Janes of Campbellsville 
Five sisters – Frieda Smith of Louisville, Retter Bailey of Campbellsville, Sue Cundiff, Phyllis Stone and Ernestine Kemp all of Columbia 
13 Grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends 

Funeral service – Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Herbert Janes and Bro. Larry Wisdom officiating

Dennis Ray Sprowles, age 71 years, of Buffalo, passed away, Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at his residence.

He was a lead maintenance supervisor at Dart Container in Horse Cave after 16 years of service, a 23rd degree mason from Long Island, New York and was a member of Fox Hollow Golf Club in Glasgow where he was an avid golfer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otho Lincoln Sprowles and a sister, Betty Joan Neumann.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sue Milton Sprowles, a son, Douglas Allen (Penelope) Sprowles of Norwalk, Ohio, his mother, Ruth Sprowles Lewis of Buffalo, a brother, Richard Lincoln Sprowles of Van Nuys, California, a granddaughter, Kristen Sprowles and a great-granddaughter, Elyse Kirsch.

Private Graveside Memorial Services will be held at Taylor's Chapel Cemetery in Green County.

Arnold Gardner

Arnold Gardner, age 82, of Hudson, formerly of Hodgenville, passed away, Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at the Clark Memorial Hospital, in Clarksville, Indiana.

He was a retired Meat Department Manager for Houchens Markets in Hodgenville, Campbellsville and Louisville, he served four years in the United State Marine Corps attaining the rank of Sergeant and was a member of the BR Young Masonic Lodge in Hodgenville.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Creed and Vadie Carter Gardner; two sisters, Alene Clopton and Frances Powell; a brother Creed J. Gardner.

He is survived by a son, Gregory Gardner of Louisville; two brothers, LeRoy Gardner and Gerald (Margie) Gardner all of Hodgenville.

Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Caleb Phelps officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the South Fork Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10 AM Saturday at the funeral home.

Henry C. Pippin of Campbellsville, formerly of Bowling Green, son of the late Verbin Pippin and Inez Stinson Pippin, was born June 3, 1952, in Warren County, Kentucky. He died at 8:25 A.M., Friday, February 26, 2016 in Louisville. Age: 63
​

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church where he served as treasurer for 30 years, was a former Deacon, and Sunday School Director and Teacher. 

He was a 1970 graduate of Warren Central High School and 1975 graduate of Western Kentucky University. 

He obtained his CPA license in 1983. He moved to Campbellsville in 1985 and owned his own practice for twenty years and was a current employee of White Oil Company. 

He united in marriage to Gail Tabor, May 18, 1974. 

Besides his wife, Gail Pippin of Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter Jennifer Michelle Pippin and fiancé, Robert Hoover of Cold Springs, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Vernon Pippin, Sammy Pippin and Jimmy Pippin.

VISITATION: 11:00 A.M - 8:00 P.M., EST, Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville.
