Kenneth Cook age 63 of Edmonton, KY passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2015 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.  Kenneth was born on October 18, 1951 to the late James and Bertha Amburgy Cook. He was a retired employee of Equity Group. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Louise Mosby Cook on October 07, 2014.

Survivors Include:
One Son- Jonathan Cook of Edmonton, KY
Three Brothers- Winfred Cook and Charles Cook both of Burkesville, KY, and Wesley Cook of Celina, TN
Two Sisters- Velma Short, and Emelene Roach both of Celina, TN
and a host of other relatives and friends also survive

Funeral Service:
Wednesday, September 02, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Casey Fork Cemetery.  Family requests visitation after 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 01, 2015 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.

Everett "Jerry" Ellsworth

Everett “Jerry” Ellsworth, of Dry Creek Road, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015, at his residence. He was 75. 

Born January 26, 1940, in Chicago, IL, he was a son of the late Chester Acie Ellsworth and Wanda Whitten Ellsworth. He was construction worker and home builder. Jerry was a member of the Pine Grove Church. 

Survivors include his longtime companion, Betty Wyka of Liberty; son, Gerald D. Ellsworth of Murray, KY; brother, Edward A. Ellsworth of Liberty; sister, Vivian Hochstrasser of Liberty; half-brother, James Ellsworth of Mannsville; and several grandchildren also survive. 
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marlind and Daniel Ellsworth and sisters, Shirley Smithermen and Charlene Free. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 12 Noon until time of funeral on Wednesday at the funeral home. 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the funeral home to help the family offset funeral expenses.

Joyce Ann Scott age 58 of Cumberland County, KY passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. She was born on February 21, 1957 in Owensboro, KY to the late Grady Hicks Bumpus, and Dorothy Louise Justice Bumpus. Joyce was united in marriage to Ronnie Dale Scott on August 06, 1977, and lived in B. Scott Hollow.  Joyce had worked at Oshkosh B'Gosh in Marrowbone, KY, and was a longtime member of Faith Bible Church in Burkesville, KY.  She enjoyed cooking, canning, fishing, sewing, and spending time with her children.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ronnie in 2007, and her siblings, David Bumpus, Patricia McKinney, Kenneth Bumpus, Bobby Bumpus, and Darrell Cowles.

Survivors Include:
One Daughter- Tonya Scott Lanphier of Bowling Green, KY
One Son- Chistopher Dale Scott of Cumberland County, KY
and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral Service:
Tuesday, September 01, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main ST Burkesville, KY with burial in Dutch Creek Cemetery.  Family requests visitation on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.

Murl Martin

Murl Martin of Liberty, KY passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Casey County Hospital. He was 68. 

Born November 13, 1946 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Hayden Martin and Villa Marie Wilson Martin. Murl was a logger, barber and carpenter. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge. 

Survivors include his wife, Flossie Rich Martin of Liberty; two daughters, Tammy Reneah Martin of Liberty and Amanda Martin of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren, Brandi, Alyx, Gracie, and Carson; a great-grandchild, Matilda; and two brothers, Larry and Billy Martin both of Liberty. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Louis Anthony Martin; and four brothers, Donald, Melvin, Woodrow and Monroe Martin. 

Funeral services are 1:00 P.M. Tuesday,September 1,2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Shackelford officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Contown Cemetery. 

Visitation is Monday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flower, donations may be given to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home to offset funeral cost.

Patricia Ann Burton, age 60 years of Columbia, KY passed away Sunday Aug. 30, 2015 at 4:30 AM at Taylor County Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY following a battle with lung cancer & pneumonia

She was born on June 10, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio

She was the daughter of Essie Jean Preece Moore of Columbia, KY & the late Billy Gene Moore

Besides her mother she is survived by her husband Woodrow "Woody" Burton of Columbia, KY.

Three daughters: Tanya (Joseph) Sebek of North Ridgeville, OH; Bobbie Jo (Brett) Russell of Columbia, KY; Christina (Roy) Coffey of Columbia, KY.

One son: Robert (Cora) Brady of Columbia, KY.

Three Step-Children: Shannon (Douchy) Matthews of Columbia, KY; Amanda (Robbie) Janes of Columbia, KY; Nelson (Leslie) Burton of Columbia, KY.

One brother: Ron Moore of Brocklyn, Ohio

One sister: Pamela Moore of Bristow, VA

13 Grandchildren

Aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews & a host of other relatives & friends survives

She attended the Bloomington Chapel Church, was a beloved employee of Holmes Bend Boat Dock for about the last 20 years

Funeral service Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Clergy officiating Bro. Terry White. Cremation will follow the service.

Visitation after 3:00 PM Tuesday

Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the Brown Cancer Center in Campbellsville and may be made at the funeral home

Mrs. Betty Joyce O'Daniel, age 75 of Lebanon, KY, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at her residence. She was born on October 30, 1939 in Bardstown, KY. Mrs. O'Daniel was a homemaker. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Valdemar Woodrow and Viola Rhodes Bowman; son, James Carl "J.C.' O'Daniel. 

Survivors include her husband, James C. O'Daniel, of Lebanon, KY; daughter, Vicky McDowell, of Lebanon, KY; three brothers, Robert Bowman, of Louisville, KY, Ralph (Betty) Bowman, of Woodbridge, VA, Glenn (Debbie) Bowman, of Bardstown, KY; sister, Judy Bowman (Paul) Mahuron, of Chaplin, KY. Also surviving are five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 at Bosley Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Haysville Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

SHIRLEY B. PARRISH 75 of Louisville, KY formerly of Adair County passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 11:22 a.m. in Louisville, KY. She was born July 15, 1940 the daughter of the late Reid and Beulah McIntyre Estes. 

She was preceded in death by her husband: Walter Parrish in 2007. Preceded in death by these siblings: Morris Willard Estes, Hadis Bryant Estes and Nelda Taylor

Orean Whittle, 83, of Russell Springs, died Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown. She was born March 27, 1932 in Russell County to the late Olis & Wilmoth Patterson Bennett.

She was retired from Key Market Grocery as a Deli/Bakery Manager. She was a member of Coffey's Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Whittle and a son-in-law, Johnny Grant

Survivors include 2 children: Pam Grant, Glensfork, Ky and Kenny (Gina) Whittle, Georgetown, Ky.
