Edith Taylor Miller

Edith Taylor Miller, of Dunnville, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020, at Liberty Care and Rehab. She was 85.

Born on April 15, 1934, in Helen County, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Willie G. and Martha Agnes Davis Taylor. Edith was a homemaker and a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Miller of Dunnville; a son, Gary (Sharon) Miller of Dunnville; two grandchildren, Jason (Natalie) Miller and Nicklas Miller; four great-grandchildren, Sophia, Landon, Josie, and Winola; a sister, Mabel Vaughn; and a brother, James Taylor.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Ulcie Jones and Opal Adkins; and a brother, Arvil Taylor.

Private services will be held at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Parton officiating. Burial will follow in Casey County Memorial Gardens.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Miller, Nicklas Miller, Darrell Adams, Randy Adams, Charles Norfleet, and Jim Mishler.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Lorena Brockman of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Linus Bright and Avis England Bright, was born October 24, 1947 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died Sunday, March 29, 2020 in Campbellsville.   Age:  72

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  

Lorena was a former employee of Batesville Casket Company in Campbellsville, Kentucky, Fruit of the Loom and retired from Taylor County School System.

She united in marriage to Randall Brockman March 19, 1966.  

Besides her husband, Randall Brockman, she is survived by two sons: Todd Brockman and wife, Denise and Scott Brockman and wife, Elizabeth; five grandchildren; Kelsey Willis and husband, Hunter, Chase Brockman and wife, Whitney, Chance Brockman, Tanner Brockman and Autumn Brockman, four great-grandchildren: Ethan Miller, Nevaeh Brockman, Bentley Brockman and Addisyn Brockman; three step-grandchildren: Gracie Montgomery, Jacob Hayes and Noah Janes; one step great-granddaughter, Raegyn Willis; seven sisters and two brothers: Jean Wilson, Christine Greer, Judy Brockman, Rita Moore and husband, Jack, Faye Burton, Margaret Burress, Patricia Gray and husband, Gary, Willard Bright and Alvin Bright and wife, Judy; five sisters-in-law: Arlene Mullins, Marcelene Sapp, Faye Porter and husband, G.W., Jean Peterson and husband, Mike and Connie Shewmaker and husband, Robby; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Ember Faith Brockman; one brother-in-law, Glenn Brockman.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Lorena’s caregivers: Judy Gwinn, Wendy Akin, and her daughters-in-law: Denise and Elizabeth.

Eric Daniel Spires of the Meadowcreek community in Green County passed from this life on Sunday, March 29, 2020. Son of Keven and Rita (Loy) Spires, he was born in Adair County on June 30, 1978. He was 41 years, 8 months, and 29 days of age. Mr. Spires had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Brethren in Christ faith. He was a former employee of Oki Services in Lexington, and was a talented electronic repairman.

Eric enjoyed watching his favorite TV shows and was an animal lover, but most of all he loved spending time with his two sons.

   He leaves to mourn his passing:
   Two children: Jaxon Spires and Damion Carpenter,
   His parents: Keven and Rita Spires of Campbellsville,
   A brother: Jamie Spires and wife Jennifer of Cookeville, TN,
   A maternal grandmother: Mildred Loy of Fairplay,
   His nephews: Austin and Aidan,
   And several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

   He was also preceded in death by grandparents: Young Loy, and William and Velma Spires.

   Mr. Spires will be laid to rest in the Loy Cemetery in Fairplay - Adair County.
   Due to efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 and recent requirements implemented by the Office of Governor Andy Beshear and the Kentucky Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, all funeral services will be performed privately.

Timothy Earl Nunnally

Timothy Earl Nunnally age 62 of Knob Lick passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.    He was the son of the late Maxie Nunnally and Norma Jean Cumbee Burris.

Timothy was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith.    

He is survived by his wife Pamela Creasy Nunnally of Knob Lick.   Three children;   Jeana (Noel) Jennings of Glasgow.  Amanda (Jared) Smith of Knob Lick and Will (Erika) Cavanah of Dawson Springs, Kentucky.   Two sisters;  Tammy Nunnally of Edmonton and Terri (Michael) Price of Greensburg.   His step father Roger Burris of Knob Lick and  a step sister Sherri Mills of Knob Lick.   Ten grandchildren.   Aleashia, Gerome, Zackary, Hunter, Abigael, Aiken, D.J., Nevaeh, Lane and Tucker.  

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Frankie Nunnally. 

In light of the current situation with Covid-19 all services will be private and social distancing of 6 feet must be followed.  No food or drinks will be allowed in the funeral home.  We are very sorry for the  inconvenience.   Our efforts are to ensure the safety of all parties involved.

Dana Lynn Green Gilbert age 48 of Lexington passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020 in Lexington.    Born in Ocala, Florida she was the daughter of Sandra Green of Florida.   

She is survived by two children.   Angel Taylor of Columbia and William “Buck” Taylor of Glasgow.    One brother Daniel Green of Glasgow and one sister Joanna Green of Greensburg.   Two grandchildren.    Hallie and Allen Grigsby.  One aunt Dot Green of Edmonton.  Three first cousins.  Jennifer Smith, Mildred Hall and Jason Green.  

She was preceded in death by a brother Buckie Green.   

Cremation was chosen.  Family has requested that contributions on her behalf to help with expenses would be greatly appreciated.

Helen Turpin Peyton

Helen Turpin Peyton age 93, of Liberty, KY passed away on Saturday March 28th 2020 at her residence. She was born in Casey County, KY on February 16th, 1927 a daughter of the late D.C. and Bessie Montgomery Turpin.

Helen was the widow of Vince O. Peyton who passed away on April 26th, 1968.

Helen was a waitress.

Survivors include: Two Daughters: Charlotte Davis and (Ken Adams) of Liberty and Leslie Rousey of Moreland, Two Grandsons: Anthony and (Angela) Cook of Liberty and Christopher and (Cheri) Cook of Leavenworth, KS, Six Great Grandsons and One Great Granddaughter. 

Preceding her in death besides her parents and spouse was Twelve Siblings: Emma Lynn, Lou Cochran, Howard Turpin, Birdie Lee, Susie Lynn, Raymond Turpin, Sam Turpin, Cecil Turpin, Nellie Fischer, Henry Turpin, Jess Turpin and Effie Turpin. 

A private graveside services will be held with immediate family only on Monday March 30th, 2020 at Peyton Cemetery with Bro. Kenny Turpin officiating.

Due to efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 and recent requirements implemented by the Office of Governor Andy Beshear and the Kentucky Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, all funeral services will be performed privately.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Nicholas was born in Louisville, KY on May 21, 1981, a son of Carrie (Smith) and Joe Kerns. 

He worked as a Carpenter. 

Nicholas is survived by 
parents, Carrie and Joe Kerns 
a son,Hunter Kerns 
two brothers, Joe (Melissa) Kerns and Matthew (Keri) Kerns 
special friend Susan Caldwell 
as well as several nieces and nephews.

Dr. Charles Hedrick, Jr.

Dr. Charles Hedrick, Jr. of Campbellsville, son of the late Dr. John Charles Hedrick, Sr. and Christine Jones Hedrick, was born April 7, 1940 in Clarksburg, West Virginia.  He died at 11:25 P.M., Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in Louisville.   Age:  79

Dr. Hedrick has served God for nearly sixty years as Senior Pastor, IMB Missionary in Nigeria and as a transitional and Interim Pastor. His current membership was Campbellsville Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School as long as his health permitted. Dr Hedrick also served as an assistant to the President of Campbellsville University in Church Relations.

As a boy Dr. Hedrick traveled with his father, a Southern Baptist Minister, who conducted tent revivals and established thirteen Southern Baptist Churches in West Virginia.

Dr. Hedrick was married to Carrie Faye Stears Hedrick for forty years before God called her to her Heavenly home. He is now married to Sharon Watson Hedrick.

Besides his wife, Sharon Watson Hedrick of Campbellsville, he is survived by two daughters and one son:  Cindy Carole Butler and husband, Dwight of Campbellsville, Rebecca Ann (Becky) Treon and husband, Bruce of Owensboro and Charles Allan Hedrick and wife, Kim of Florence; nine grandchildren:  Greg Butler of Alaska, Adrienne Butler Gilbert and husband, Steve and Christina Butler Smith and husband, Trace of Campbellsville, Allison French and husband, Doug and Amanda Hedrick of Mt. Vernon, Billy Hedrick of Richmond and  Author, Henry and Kaylee Hedrick of Florence; seven great-grandchildren;  one brother and two sisters:  Donnie Hedrick and wife, Joan of Owenton, Mary Frances (Susie) Garrett and husband, George of Louisville and Katherine Ann (Kathy) Reuter of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dr. David Hedrick, and a brother-in-law, Terry Reuter.

A PUBLIC MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT A LATER DATE.

Nellie Pearl Roberts Bryant

Nellie Pearl Roberts Bryant, 95, of Columbia died Friday, March 27, 2020 at the Summit Manor Nursing Home.   Born in Adair County she was the daughter of the late Acel and Laura Barrett Roberts and wife of the late Leonard Edgar Bryant.

Mrs. Bryant attended the New Hope Separate Baptist Church and loved quilting and gardening.
Survivors include ten children Glenda Bryant of Russell Springs, KY, Sharon Bryant of Columbia, Travis Bryant (Elaine) of Columbia, Bennie Bryant (Dora) of Crestwood, KY, Clifton Bryant (Velma) and Merriel Bryant (Gaysorn) both of Indiana and Beverly Teramoto (Roy) Deborah Bryant Hudson, Michael Bryant (Monica) and Danny Bryant (Susan) all of Arizona; 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by several siblings. 

In accordance with Governor Beshear’s recommendations and in compliance with the CDC, there will be a private graveside on Monday morning at the New Hope Cemetery.  Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Ann Tarter Evans

Mary Ann Tarter Evans, of Hustonville, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020, at University of Kentucky. She was 67.

Born on August 14, 1952, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Bernal and Ila Emerson Tarter. Mary was a homemaker. She played piano at South Fork Separate Baptist Church where she was a member. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, thrift shopping, and cooking.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jimmy Ray Evans of Hustonville; two sons, Chris (Alitta) Evans of Hustonville and Kyle (Lisa) Evans of Dunnville; a daughter, Kasey (Justin) Padgett of Waynesburg; a brother, John (Nicki) Tarter of Liberty; two grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor; and her mother-in-law, Lois Evans of Dunnville.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Wilson and Billie Tarter-Wilson.

A private funeral service will be held at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Bailey and Bro. Gary Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Evans, Jake Tarter, Micah Meece, Scott Wilson, Aaron Wilson, Vance Wilson, and Jodie Hatter. They will not be in attendance.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Liberty Care Center and Bluegrass Hospice Center.
Memorial contributions may take the form of sympathy to South Fork Separate Baptist Church c/o Mike and Carol Simpson, 223 Dorothy Avenue, Danville, KY 40422.
