Woodford Glen Bottoms, Jr

Woodford Glen Bottoms, Jr, the son of the late Woodford Glen, Sr and Eula Mae (Hicks) Bottoms, was born Saturday, March 15, 1958 in Taylor County and departed this life on Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Campbellsville at his home. He was 61 years, 2 months and 11 day of age.

 Mr. Bottoms spent many years and traveled many miles driving a truck, but when he had time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing poker with his friends, but found most joy spending time with his family and friends and his dog Annie and was of the Baptist Faith.

 Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Jason Bottoms.

He is survived by two daughters and a son: Jaclyn “Jackie” Bottoms and fiancé Blake Gabehart, Kari Bottoms and companion Josh Simpson and Chase Bottoms and companion Anna Petty and the mother of his children: Lou Bottoms all of Campbellsville; nine grandchildren: Blake and Haylee Allen, Easton Williams, Bryson Gabehart, Mackenzie and Zehavah Negron, Elyjah Steward, Josh Simpson, Jr “Bud” and Jacob Simpson and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Woodford Glen Bottoms, Jr, will be conducted Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville with cremation to follow. Doug Keltner will be officiating.
Family requests visitation after 2:00 P.M. until time for the service.

Ralph Wethington

Ralph Wethington age 75, of Danville, KY passed away on Wednesday May 29th, 2019 at the V.A. Medical Center. He was born in Liberty, KY on April 3rd, 1944 a son of the late Samuel Green Wethington and Mary Fannie Vaughn Wethington. 

Ralph was a former bookkeeper and in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include: Nephews and Nieces.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was Three Sisters: Inez Knight, Shirley Wethington and Jeanette Hunt and Two Brothers: Clifford Wethington and Oswald Wethington.

Graveside Services will be held 1:30 P.M. Tuesday June 4th, 2019 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.  Burial will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Military Rites performed.

David Edward Scales, 60, of Amelia, Ohio (formerly of Russell Co) died Sunday, May 26, 2019 in Grundy Center, Iowa. He was born March 17, 1957 in Russell County.

He was preceded in death by his father, Garland Scales and a brother, Jeffery Garland Scales.

A memorial service for David Edward Scales will be 11 AM. Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ryan Coffey officiating.

Betty Martin Goode

Betty Goode, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Casey County Hospital. She was 93.
Born on January 30, 1926, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Taylor and Ada Harris Martin.

Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of Liberty First Church of God. She enjoyed visiting and volunteering at the nursing home, as well as visiting the Senior Citizens Center daily.

Betty is survived by two sons, Jay (Brenda) Goode of Liberty and Arnold (Karen) Goode of Liberty; two daughters, Shirley (Gary) Campbell of Louisville and Elizabeth Pelley of Liberty; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Jones Goode of Liberty; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Goode, who passed away on March 10, 1989; a son, Vallard Goode; and four siblings, Edward Martin, Chester Martin, Louise Cain and Arlie Grider.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Allen and Bro. Marshall Malone officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Goode, Greg Goode, Michael Goode, Barron Goode, Darren Goode, and James Campbell.

Nicholas Scott “Nic” Galaraza, 35, of East Chicago, Indiana, formerly of Adair County, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his residence.

He was born July 26, 1983 in Florida and preceded in death by his father, Bradley Scott Galaraz and his mother, Julita Edelen Buckman.

Survivors include:
His wife – Ashley Grant of Columbia
Three children – Jaxon, Jayla & Jolie Galaraza all of Columbia
One brother – Brad (Tina) Galaraz of Tennessee
His step-father – Jim Buckman of Lebanon
His father-in-law & mother-in-law – Randall & Paula Burbridge Grant of Columbia

Graveside service – Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the McClister Cemetery with  Terry Smith officiating

William Joseph Doades, 61, of Columbia died Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at his residence.  Born in Indiana he was the son of the late William Doyle and Zita White Doades. 

He is survived by his wife Kimberly Alexander Doades.

Alma Newton of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Charlie Fountain Wise and Mary Ermine Puryear Wise, was born March 14, 1939 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 4:31 P.M., Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in Louisville.    Age: 80

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Alma was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and also worked in food service.

She united in marriage to Glen Newton November 18, 1953 and he preceded her in death February 24, 2013.

Alma loved her children and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her so much delight; she loved being outdoors where she could raise vegetables and flowers. Alma also loved going to church and going out to eat.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter: Allen Newton and wife, Janice, Donnie Newton and wife, Alisha and Pam Newton of Campbellsville; nine grandchildren: Lucas Newton and wife, Leticia, Jacob Newton and wife, Cheryl, Clint Newton and wife, Sterling, Hallie Newton, Tyler Akins, Sarah Harmon, Angela Dunn, Malcom Newton, and Michael Newton; eight great-grandchildren: Matthew Newton, Autumn Newton, Gabriel Newton, Raymond Salinas, Leticia Salinas, Josie Dunn, Zach Robertson, and Jasmin Robertson; four sisters: Alice Taylor of Mt. Sherman, Jewell Humphrey and Shirley Mae Wise of Hodgenville and Pat Wise of Michigan; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Glen Harmon and three sisters: Juanita Keeble, Thelma Helen Barnes and Mary Elizabeth Gilbert.

VISITATION: 5:00 – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home
FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 31, 2019 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev. Dannie Nelson and Rev. Bob Langlois

Mr. Billy Lee Fair, Jr. of Shelbyville passed from this life on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in Louisville at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital. Son of the late Billy Lee and Gladys Marie (Collins) Fair, he was 51 years, 10 months, and 27 days of age.

He is survived by:
   Two daughters: Sondra Bewley and fiancée Michael Money of Greensburg, and Brittany Pfiffer of Tennessee,
   Five siblings: Tina Warren, Terry Fair, Virginia Bundy, Ricky Fair, and William Fair,
   Five grandchildren,
   And several other family and friends.

   At the request of the family, cremation rites were entrusted to the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville.
   All services were held privately.

 Ms. Whitney Jordan Chrappa of Mt Washington passed from this life on May 21, 2019 in Louisville at the Baptist Hospital in Louisville. Born on February 9, 1990 to Richard Chrappa and Sherry F. Shepherd, she was 29 years, 3 months, and 12 days of age. Ms. Chrappa was a former warehouse worker and was of the Christian faith.

She leaves to mourn her passing:
   Her father: Richard Chrappa of Louisville,
   Her mother: Sherry Shepherd of Mt. Washington,
   A son: Kolton Curtsinger of Mt. Washington,
   One sister: Shannon Nichole Capell and husband Jason of Mt. Washington,
   A niece: Baylee Nichole McKinney of Mt. Washington,
   And a host of other extended family and friends.

   There will be a memorial service to honor the life of Ms. Chrappa on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Millerfield Brethern in Christ Church in the Millerfield community of Adair County. Burial will be in the Tarter Cemetery in Russell County.
