Ronnie Lynn Tucker, 71, of Knifley, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 1:35 A.M. at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
He was born November 19, 1946, in Knifley, Kentucky, to the late Lynn & Hildred Binkley Tucker. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Curry & Marietta Tucker; one brother, James Tucker; and a nephew, Robbie Roution. 

He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War.

Survivors Include:
One Brother – Jerry Tucker of Knifley
Four Sisters – Donna (Paul) Gabbert & Connie Jones both of Knifley, Hilda (Donnie) Roution & Sheila (Paul) Roution both of Merrimac
Eight Nieces & Nephews – Tammy Haines, Chad Gabbert, Tera Knight, Jennifer Bullock, Kristy Norris, Jerry W. Tucker, Misty Morgan & Kevin Jones
Several Other Relatives & Friends also survive

LEWIS GARRISON

LEWIS GARRISON, 80 of the Clay Ridge Community of Adair County passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 4:02 pm at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY after a short illness.

He was born April 26, 1937 in Adair County, KY the son of the late   Roy Allen and Ruth Thomas and his step mother Rosa C. Thomas Garrison. He was preceded in death by one sister Eva Lee Baker in 2016.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Green County, a U.S. Army veteran. In 1969  he founded Garrison Construction Company and operated the company for over 40 years. Mr. Garrison was a supporter of education at all levels and he served on the Board of Trustees of Lindsey Wilson College for several years. He was a devoted and proud member of the Columbia-Adair County community. He served on various city and county development boards including the airport board and ambulance board, and the Chamber of Commerce.  He was a member of the Columbia Masonic Lodge # 96, Louisville Scottish Rite, Kosairs, National Utility Contractors Association, American Road and Transportation Builders, the Kentucky Association of Highway Contractors and a founding member of the Associate Builder and Contractors.

An antique tractor and vehicle enthusiast, Garrison restored numerous antique tractors. He belonged to several antique tractor clubs and received numerous awards for his restoration work.

One son:          James Garrison and wife Paula of Columbia, KY
One brother:   Sam Garrison  and wife Wynemia of Campbellsville, KY
One sister:   Patsy Jenkins of Greensburg, KY
Four grandchildren  Michael (Tiffany) Mitchum, Mary (Levi) Burton, Kayla (Trent) Jones, Clint Garrison and by seven  great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral service:  ​Monday, December 4, 2107 at 1:00 PM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home

Dorris Laverne Parish, 79 of Sparksville Road,  Columbia, KY a longtime resident of Noblesville, Indiana  passed away, Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11:40 PM at her home after several months illness.

She was born October 26, 1938 in East Praire, Missouri the daughter of the late John Henry and Bessie Haley Estes

She was preceded in death by her husband Shelby O. Parish in 1998 and by three sisters Eva McAfee, Vera Howell and Susie Kirby

Survived by her son  Kevin Norris and wife Kathy of Columbia, KY
Three sisters: Alene Hyslip of West Liberty, Ohio,  Cris Filson of Greenfield, Indiana, Eunice Fisher of Cedar Lake, Indiana
One grandson:  Bobby Norris and wife Nequila of Columbia, KY
Two great grandchildren Jace & Gunner, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends a special thanks to her caregiver Janet McInteer

Mrs. Parish retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber in Noblesville, Indiana after 35 years of service

TERRY SNEED 62, of Columbia, KY  passed away at his home Tuesday, November 28, 2017 of natural causes.  He was born February 21, 1955 the son of the late; Walter Payne and Elsie Mae Brown Sneed of Adair County, KY.

Survived by one sister and brother in law:  Phyllis and Doug Hare of
New Palestine, Indiana
Two nieces also survive
Mr. Sneed is survived by a host of cousins and friends in Adair County.

He was a 1973 graduate of Adair County High School.

Edra Ann Reliford age 66 years of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 at 8:39 PM at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY.  She was born on Oct. 23, 1951 in Columbia, KY.  She was the daughter late John Ellen & Eliza Ellen Murrell Hamlett.

​Betty Skaggs Smith, 73, of Jamestown, KY passed away on November 27th at the Russell County Hospital.
She was born on July 22, 1944 in Tucson, AZ a daughter of the late Lina (Chase) and O.L. (Cricket) Skaggs.

Betty was a retired school teacher.

She is survived by:
son Alan (Natalie) Smith, of Jeffersonville, IN
daughter Ashley Smith, of Louisville, KY
three brothers Ottis (Charlene) Skaggs, of Jamestown, KY
Joel (Shella) Skaggs, of Russell Springs, KY
Nathan (Shanda) Skaggs, of Jamestown,KY
two sisters Rosemary (Bill) Helm, of Jamestown, KY
Marlene (Johnny) Dunbar, of Somerset, KY
six grandchildren and well as a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband Eddie Smith, sister Sharon Skaggs and a granddaughter Brooklyn Coleman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday December 1st at the Bernard Ridge Church of God at 11:00am with Bro. Lindsey Cornett and Bro. Johnny Dunbar officiating.
The family will be receiving friends at 10:00am at the church.
Care and Cremation was chosen.
The family request memorial donations to the Bernard Ridge Church of God and can be made at the church.

Judy Carolyn Heistand, 65 years, 11 months and 7 days of age, of Campbellsville, died Monday, November 27, 2017 at Taylor Regional Hospital. 

Judy was born in Hodgenville, KY on December 20, 1951, the daughter of the late Howard and Alberta Coy Marcum.    Also preceding her in death was her husband, Finis Heistand as well as a sister, Joyce Marcum and brothers, Jim Marcum, Kenny Marcum and John Marcum. 

Judy enjoyed sewing. spending time with her friends and was a faithful member of Campbellsville Christian Church.  

Judy was survived by her son, Howard Franklin “Frankie” Heistand of Campbellsville, as well as a sister Vicki Skaggs of Buffalo, and brothers Larry Marcum of Louisville and Randy Marcum of Hodgenville.

The Funeral Service for Judy C. Heistand will be, at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Rodney Booe officiating.  Interment will immediately follow in Green River Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation is requested to be after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017 until time for the service at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Delbert Lindsey Beard

Delbert Lindsey Beard, 85 years, 11 months and 16 days of age, of Williamsburg, Ohio, formerly of Campbellsville passed away Nov. 27, 2017 at the Villa in Georgetown, Ohio.

Delbert was born in Attilla, Kentucky on December 11, 1931, the son of the late Lilburn and Sadie Thompson Beard.  Also preceding him in death was a son, Glendal Keith Beard and a sister, Elaine Skaggs.   

 Prior to his retirement, he worked several years at American Sign Company and in 1951-1953 he proudly served in the United States Army.   He was a long-standing member of Pitman Valley Baptist Church.

Delbert was a devoted husband of 66 years to his surviving spouse, Regena Bradshaw Beard whom he married May 5, 1951.   Also surviving are his children: Delbert (Patricia) Beard of Florida, Joyce (Edward) Becker of Owenton, KY, Rosemary (David) Becker of Williamsburg, OH, Anita (Greg) Bunnell of Indianapolis, and Cheryl (Randy) Rickey of Batavia, OH.   Also surviving is a sister Eldora (James) Allen of Campbellsville as well 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and a  host of many friends. 

The Funeral Service for Delbert L. Beard will be Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Nelson officiating.   Interment will immediately follow in Zion Separate Baptist Church Cemetery. 
The family request visitation on Friday, Dec. 1, from 5-8 p.m., and Saturday, Dec 2, from 9 -10 a.m. prior to the service at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home

Lester Shelton Griffin

Lester Shelton Griffin of the Rocky Ford Community of Casey County, KY passed away at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. on November 29, 2017. He was born on February 7, 1936, he was 81 years old.

Mr.Griffin was a retired state highway department worker, farmer, a former bus driver and magistrate of Casey County. He was a member of Slate Hill United Methodist Church.

He was the son of the late James and Abby Mullins Griffin. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Arlin, James, and Carlos Griffin. Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bernice Rose Snow Griffin; two sons, Ray and Nina Griffin of Waynesburg and Craig and Tracy Griffin of Rocky Ford; three grandchildren: Jordan Griffin of Waynesburg and Jacob Griffin and Chelsea Griffin of Rocky Ford; and one brother, Elbert Griffin of Hustonville.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Griffin, Jacob Griffin, Clayton Griffin, Doug Beldon, Mike Crowe, and Shirley Richards. Honorary pallbearers are Chelsea Griffin, James Beeler, Danny Clarkston, and Larry Cochran. 

Visitation 11am - 1pm, Saturday at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home, Hustonville, KY. Funeral services following at 1pm by Brother Howard Godby. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

Ella Catherine Porter Young

Mrs. Ella Catherine Porter Young, age 76 of Lebanon, KY, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at her residence. She was born on June 4, 1941 in St. Mary's, KY. Mrs. Young worked as a young lady in the St. Mary's College kitchen with her family. This led to a love of cooking and later, into catering. Ella also worked as a teacher's aide and at the Marion County Association for the Handicapped. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and loved her grandchildren dearly. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Frank Young (2003); parents, Walter Alfonza and Sarah Elizabeth Mitchell Porter; three brothers, infant brother, Joseph Mitchell Porter, and Walter Louis Porter; five sisters, Cecilia Catherine Hayden, Susan Virginia Cowherd, Nannie Catherine Porter, Stella Elizabeth Brady, and Mary Patricia Porter. 

Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Cowherd (David), Opal Young and Alice Young, all of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Shavar Cowherd, Leon Cowherd, Trey Cowherd and India Young; step-grandchildren, Chloe and Isaiah; special friend, Janice Edelen. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church. Interment to follow in St. Augustine Church Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Bosley Funeral Home. Prayer Services will be held at 7:00 Friday evening by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
