Danny Reid Gaskins, 64, of Jamestown, died Monday, June 29, 2020 at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
He was born August 17, 1955 in Russell County to the late Ted & Opal Morrow Gaskins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Bobby Gaskins, Glen Dale Gaskins, Joe Gaskins and a sister, Wilma Ballenger.

Survivers include:
wife: Ruth Ellen Kimbler Gaskins, Jamestown
1 son: Damon Gaskins, Jamestown
1 grandson: Waylon Gaskins, Jamestown
2 brothers: Howard (Carolyn) Gaskins, Russell Springs

Funeral service for Danny Reid Gaskins will be 1 PM. Thursday at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Conner officiating.

Scott Dewayne Gordon

Scott Dewayne Gordon, age 46, of Gravel Switch, passed away June 29, 2020 at Springview Hospital. He was born on October 07, 1973 in Lebanon, Kentucky. Scott was an employee at Brown and Forman Cooperage in Louisville, since November 1993.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.S. and Sue Gordon, Hugh and Nora Lanham; special uncle, Stanley Lanham; brother-in-law, Johnnie Dale Tingle; nephew, Michael Pat Morgeson.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Tonya Renee Brady Gordon of Gravel Switch, KY; three daughters, Brittany, CeAnna, and Lily Gordon, all of Gravel Switch, KY; parents, Sidney and Carol Gordon of Gravel Switch, KY; brother, Rodney (Tennie) Gordon of Perryville, KY; sister, Sheila Gordon Tingle of Gravel Switch, KY; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joseph “Pat” and Cassie Brady of Jessietown, KY; brother-in-law, Chris Brady of Jessietown, KY; sister-in-law, Stacy Brady of Jessietown, KY; special niece, Kara Tingle (missing).

Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 02, 2020 at Bosley Funeral Home. Cremation to follow after funeral service. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service on Thursday, July 02, 2020 at Bosley Funeral Home.

Due to Covid-19, we are limited to 50% occupancy during visitation and funeral services. We encourage those coming to our facility to wear a face mask and to please hand sanitize when entering. We have masks and sanitizer available.

Raymond Lee Poff

Raymond Lee Poff, of Middleburg, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.  He was 66 years of age. 

Born on March 15, 1954, on Calhoun Creek, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Elza “Andy” and Mildred Mae Clements Poff. Raymond was an avid welder and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He enjoyed square dancing, wrestling and western movies. Whether it was fishing, rabbit hunting, mowing his yard, or watching hummingbirds, Raymond loved being outdoors.

Survivors include four sons, Steven (and Lisa) Poff of Jamestown, David Poff of Liberty, Jason (and Becky) Poff of Liberty, and Danny Poff of West Liberty; one daughter, Crystal (and James) Sims of Middleburg; and his life partner, Diana Patterson of Kings Mountain. Raymond is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one step-son, Travis Hatter of Eddyville; one step-daughter, Susan (and Greg) Short of Yosemite; six brothers, Jerry (and Patsy) Poff of Harrodsburg, Oliver (and Faye) Poff of Dunnville, Glen (and Rita) Poff of Liberty, Brent Poff of Middleburg, Bruce (and Carla) Poff of Liberty, and Dale (and Matana) Poff of Liberty; and three sisters, Nancy (and Roy) Luttrell of Liberty, Kathy (and William) Wethington of Middleburg, and Kaye (and Darren) Helm of Dunnville.

In addition to his parents, Raymond is preceded in death by three grandchildren, Gracie Luttrell, Jayden Poff, and Lilly Poff.

Funeral services are 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Brother Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial will follow in K.P. Hall Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Monday, June 29, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Please enter through the front doors (Campbellsville Street side) of the funeral home when you arrive for visitation. Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance. 

Dale Poff, Glen Poff, Bruce Poff, Oliver Poff, James Pittman, William Pittman, and Vernon Pittman, will serve as Raymond’s pallbearers.

Dustin Poff, Christopher Poff, Garrett Carrier, Jordan Luttrell, Harley Sims, Ray Patterson, Jagger Poff, and Maverick Poff, will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Raymond’s family request memorial contributions take the form of donations to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses, P.O. Box 188, Liberty, Kentucky 42539 or to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, Kentucky 42503.

Terry George, 72, of Russell Springs, died Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Norton's Hospital in Louisville.
He was born November 3, 1947 in Somerset, Ky to the late C.B. &  Evelyn Stephens George.
Terry was a insurance agent and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Conover George; a brother, Morris George.

Survivors

Visitation 5-8 PM. Monday at the church and after 12 PM.
Tuesday at the church until funeral time at at 2 PM.
Interment in the Bernard Cemetery.

Peggy Bennett, 80, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 8:25 A.M. at Summit Manor Nursing Home.

She was born February 8, 1940, in Adair County, to the late Frank and Lorena Coomer Bennett.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Murrell and two brothers, Lyndell and Jimmy Bennett.

Peggy was a member of the former Morris Chapel United Methodist Church and worked at Fruit of the Loom for 38 years.

Survivors include:
One brother – Barry (Marsha) Bennett of Columbia
Two sisters – Elaine (Mike) Downs of Columbia, Patsy (Jimmy) Sapp of Carrollton
A sister-in-law - Brenda Bennett of Columbia
Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Glyn Dale England, 71, of Columbia died Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.  Born in Adair County he was the son of the late Avery and Minnie Catherine Sparks England. 

Glyn was retired from the Adair County School System, having worked at Sparksville School and ACES for over 40 years.  He was an avid rabbit hunter and also enjoyed hunting deer and turkey.

He is survived by his wife Janice Coomer England of Columbia; a brother Kenneth England (Beverly) of Columbia; two sisters Kathy Pelston (Lowell) and Charlotte Bryant both of Columbia; a brother-in-law Ricky Coomer of Marrowbone, KY; two aunts Nancy Lacy of Louisville and Maxine Sparks of Columbia several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Brenda Marie England.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Antioch Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00am until time for the service.
Bro. Elbert Hadley will be officiating and pallbearers will be Travis Coomer, Dale Morrison, Kenneth Janes, Dwayne Jessie, Curt Jessie and Bradley Bean.

Virginia Gail Bennett Hammond

Virginia Gail Bennett Hammond of Greensburg, daughter of the late Johnny Brown and Corine McCarol Brown, was born on Thursday, March 3, 1955 in Adair County, and departed this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville.  She was 65 years, 3 months, and 20 days of age.

          She had made a profession of faith in Christ and  attended the Taylor's Chapel United Methodist Church.

          She united in marriage to Joseph Alton Bennett on October 9, 1970 who preceded her in death on February 14, 1999. She later united in marriage to: Gwen Hammond who survives. 

          Survivors include a daughter: Crystal Bennett of Greensburg; three grandchildren: Joseph Wyatt Bennett, Brittany Nicole Bennett, and Jonus Breyden Bennett all of Hodgenville; a brother: Kenneth Brown of Greensburg; a sister: Libby Milby of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

          She was also preceded in death by two sons: Joseph Allen Bennett, and Larry Douglas Bennett; and a brother: Stanley Brown on May 10, 2020.

          Graveside services for Virginia Gail Bennett Hammond were held at 6:00 P.M., Central Time, Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Bell Cemetery.  Chris Clark officiating.          The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Bell Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

Ruby Starnes, 93, of Russell Springs, died Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown. She was born April 19, 1927 In Russell County.

She was a member of Solid Rock Full Gospel Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse Starnes; grandchild, Gloria Loy; great grandchild, Ashley Stargel.

Wendell Eugene “Jody” Reliford, 75, of Columbia died June 23, 2020 at his residence.  Born in Adair County he was the son of the late Thurman and Margie Downey Reliford and husband of the late Edra Hamlett Reliford.  He was also preceded in death by a sister Marsha Reliford.
Mr. Reliford formerly attended the Trinity United Methodist Church.  He was a farmer and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include a son Jason Reliford (Deanna) of Columbia; two daughters Katina Furkin (Terry) of Columbia and Belinda Cape of Edmonton; five grandchildren Kayln Reliford, Logan Reliford, Nathan Cape, Ethan Reliford and Anthony Gordon; a sister Pat Dorman (Fred) of Columbia and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Haven Hill Cemetery.  Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
