Wendy Jean  Fudge Reeder, 65, wife of Charlie Reeder, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018.  Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late John and Betty Fudge of Adair County, KY 

A former florist, Wendy was an RN and worked with various hospitals including Eastern State Hospital and later retired as Director of Nursing with Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana.  She was a member of Oxford Christian Church, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, volunteering with her church and cooking for her church or the Gathering Place.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Andrea Burton, Lexington and Josh (Jessica) Burton, Danville; sister, Peggy Fudge, Columbia, KY; brother, Jimmy (Mary) Fudge, Lexington; grandchildren, Conner and Kendall Burton; nephew, Tony Fudge; as well as numerous other family members and friends.  

Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Johnson’s Funeral Home, Georgetown, KY  conducted by Rev. Chris Cash.  Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday, October 31, 2018 and 12 PM till service time Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oxford Christian Church, 2785 Oxford Village Lane, Georgetown, KY 40324 or Columbia United Methodist Church, 202 Burkesville St, Columbia, KY 42728.  www.johnsonsfuneralhome.com

Brandy R. Johnson, 35, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Saturday October 27th, in Russell Springs, KY.
She was born in Noblesville, IN on August 14, 1983 a daughter to the late Renee (Ridenour) Clark, and Hillard Huston Blakley of Noblesville, IN.

She worked as a waitress at Coe's Steak House.

She is preceded in death by her mother Renee Clark and step father Dave Clark.

Funeral Services will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY on Wed. October 31st, 1:00pm with Bro. Josh Owens officiating,
Friends may visit on Tuesday after 5:00pm at the funeral home.
Burial in the Hadley Cemetery, in Jamestown, KY
The family is asking for donations to the funeral fund and can be made at the funeral home.

Lester Long, age 75 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at University of Louisville Hospital. Lester was born on October 20, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Lester Herbert Long and Anna Mae Logan Long.

He was a member of Red Banks United Methodist Church, a former Cumberland County Magistrate, and was a retired employee of Cumberland County Hospital having worked 48 1/2 years.  


Survivors Include:
His Wife- Linda Long of Burkesville, KY
One Son- Keith Long and wife Angie of Burkesville, KY
One Daughter- Melissa Hammer of Cheyenne, WY
Four Grandchildren- Holly Long Parrigin and husband Bart, Cody McGuffey, Brooke Hammer and husband Ian Spaulding, and Carla Hammer
Three Great Grandchildren- Noah Hammer, Sophia Hudson, and Dominic Spaulding
and a host of other relatives and friends


A public visitation will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.   ​

CLARICE LEWIS, 89 of the Chance Community of Adair County, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 8:25 AM at the Cumberland Valley Manor Nursing Home in Burkesville, KY

She was born April 3, 1929 in Russell County, KY the daughter of the late: Albert and Sally Compton Grant

She was preceded in death by her husband: Ralph Lewis on November 18, 2015 and by four brother and four sisters. Also preceded by one granddaughter:   Shawnda Scruggs and her son in law: Marshall Bunch

Survived by one son:   Carson Lewis and wife Linda of Columbia, KY
One daughter:   Suzzanne Bunch of Columbia, KY
Two grandchildren survive:    Theresa (Ricky) Stotts, Sherry (Terry) Phillips both of Chance, KY
Seven great grandchildren Laura (Kent) Greer, Sarah Stotts, Sadie Stotts, Kaylee (Glenn) Frost, Jonathan (Hannah) Loy, Jordon Loy, Jessica Jones
 and five great grandchildren

Mrs. Lewis is survived by several nieces and nephews and by a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Lewis attended the Melson Ridge Separate Baptist Church, she was a homemaker and farmer. She was active for many years in the Lake Cumberland Fox Hunters Association.

Donna M. Harper, 78, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 4:18 A.M. at Baptist Health Lexington.

She was born January 28, 1940, in Russell County, to the late John and Josephine Carnes Marcum.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. “Jimmy” Harper on October 28, 2011.  She was a member of Columbia Christian Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include:
Two daughters and sons-in-law – Lisa & Jay Johnson of Nicholasville, Jamie & Richard White of Louisville
Four grandchildren – Harper White, Casey Walker and husband Chris, Cara Workman and husband Patrick, Anna Johnson and fiancé Sean Widmer

Gilbert Brock, 79, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Monday, October 22, 2018 at 4:57 P.M. at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

He was born November 9, 1938, in Adair County, to the late Elbert and Ethel Parson Brock.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Sherry Wolford and the following siblings; Clarence, Lawrence, James & Russell Brock, Annie Elmore, Maerene Shirley, Hattie Moore. 

He was a member of Calvary Temple Church, where he served on the Board for years and retired from Ingersoll-Rand.

He was married to Ina Ruth Brock who preceded him in death on November 3, 1990 and later married Barbara Allen.

  Steven Dewayne “Bob” Mitchell, the son of the late Wilbert and Nancy Hill Mitchell, was born Thursday, May 30, 1963 in Marion County and departed this life Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Louisville at the Norton Hospital. He was 55 years, 4 months and 25 days of age.

          He was a dairy farmer and was of the Christian Faith.

          “Bob”, as he was known by, enjoyed fishing, camping, and building model cars.

          Survivors include: his wife: Freida Jeanine Dedman Mitchell of Springfield; two children: Dale Preston and Amberdina Allen; five grandchildren: Taiten Allen, Jazzlynn Williams, Laithun Cotton, D’Andre Jeter and Arthur Creth III; sister-in-law: Louise Dedman Phillips; brothers-in-law: David Dedman and Dixon Dedman; nephews: Joshua Lee Dedman, Jonathon Dedman and Isaac Phillips and a host of other relatives and friends.

          Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Freddie Lane Mitchell.

          The funeral service for Steven Dewayne “Bob” Mitchell will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville with cremation to follow.
          Family requests visitation after 11 A.M. on Saturday until time for the service at the funeral home.

Howard Lee Smith of Campbellsville, son of the late Sam Smith and Mary Lee Rice Smith, was born February 21, 1934, in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 12:33 A.M., Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Campbellsville.        
Age: 84
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Howard was a self-employed carpenter and built several houses in the community. His favorite hobbies were antiquing and collecting. He will be remembered as a very kind and compassionate person.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews: Greg Smith, Brad Smith, Brent Smith, Steve Smith, Wendy Bryant, Sherri Rhodes, Elizabeth Priddy, Garnett Petrey and Timmy Petrey; several great-nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Paul E. Smith, Tommy Smith and Mable Petrey and one niece and one nephew: Debbie Fleming and Mike Smith.

Elizabeth “Betty” Maude Sneed Salyers, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Liberty Care and Rehab. She was 79.

Born on November 29, 1938, in Pulaski County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Elger and Evelyn Lay Sneed. Betty was a member of Mt. Olive Christian Church. She retired from OshKosh in Liberty. Betty enjoyed sewing, spending time with her family and hosting fish fries with her husband for family and friends.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Renita (Jeffrey) Murphy of Liberty; three sons, Bob (Kathy) Salyers of Frankfort, Randy (Debby Grigsby) Salyers of Denton, Texas and Terry (Sharlet) Salyers of Dunnville; six grandchildren, Jessica, Jason, April, Danielle, Tyler and Shelbie; and eight great-grandchildren, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Dylan, Jake, Ava, Evan, Ali Kate and Jaxten. Other survivors include five sisters, Edna (Don) Atwood of Danville, Fayrene McAninch of Yosemite, Brenda Carman of Walltown, Ollie May Tackett of Ohio and Judy (Sam) Allen of Walltown; and seven brothers, Eugene (Francis) Sneed of Indiana, Raymond (Darlene) Sneed of Ohio, Alvie (Alice) Sneed of Ohio, Dean (Mary Katherine) Sneed of Yosemite, Gerald (Gloria) Sneed of Waynesburg,  David Sneed of Walltown and Kenny (Linda) Sneed of Waynesburg.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, Leon Salyers; step-mother, Mary Sneed; three sisters, Opal Sneed, Elvera “Vera” Salyers and Edith Sneed; and three brothers, Elger “Junior” Sneed, Edward Sneed and Russell Sneed.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Mt. Olive Christian Church with Bro. Greg Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Salyers Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, October 26, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Mt. Olive Christian Church.
Ms. Salyers’ pallbearers will be Neal Weddle, Michael Coffman, Barry Salyers, Brent Salyers, Jayden Brown and Tim Haste.
