Ryan Scott Livengood age 23, of Stanford, KY passed away on Tuesday May 29th, 2018 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was born in Stanford, KY on June 27th, 1994 a son of Ritchie Kelly Livengood and Deana Marie Scott Livengood of Stanford, KY.

Ryan was a floater at TTAI in Somerset, KY.

Additional Survivors include: Two Brothers: Ritchie Aaron and (Victoria) Livengood of Pasadena, MD and Eric Matthew Livengood of Stanford, Grandparents: Benny Omer and Linda Hill Scott of Liberty, Carole M. Livengood of Russell Springs, KY and Earl E. Livengood of Melbourne, FL, Two Nephews: Aaron and Brayden Livengood, Aunts: Deangelia Scott and Kimberly Orlando, Uncles: Daniel and Geoffrey Livengood, Dwayne and Dakota Scott, Several Great Aunts, Great Uncles and Cousins, Special Child: Emma Isabella Trent and Special Friend: Faith White. 

Visitation will be held 4:30 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. Thursday May 31st, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday June 1st, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Scott Cochran and Bro. Rick Naylor officiating. Burial will be in the Whited Cemetery.

Susan Marie Wethington

Susan Marie Wethington, 67 years, 6 months, 13 days of age, of Campbellsville, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Louisville.

Susan was Born on November 16, 1950 in Barberton Ohio the daughter of the late Jose’ and Mary Flaker Torrez.    Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters-in-law, Martha Greer, Pat Propes, Francis Cox and Mary Clements, and four brothers-in-law, Charles Wethington, Gordon Wethington, James Wethington and Jerry Wethington.

She was married to William Devello “Dean” Wethington, and worked in the restaurant business.  She enjoyed music, soap operas and westerns, and also liked to travel.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, James Allen Fox and Jeffrey Lynn Wethington, both of Campbellsville. Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph Torrez of Akron, OH and Ricky Torrez of Canton, OH, two sisters, Stephanie Arndt and husband Jeffrey of Lancaster OH, and Maria Potts and husband John of Akron, OH. Also surviving is one grandchild, James Dean Fox, three brothers-in-law, Tom Wethington and wife Nina, Michael Wethington all of Campbellsville, Joe Wethington of Liberty, two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Tungate of Campbellsville and Betty Stewart of Harlan County.

The funeral service for Susan Marie Wethington will be held on Friday, June 1st at 11:00 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with burial to follow in the St. Bernard Church Cemetery. 
The family request visitation on Thursday evening, May 31, 2018 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel Brian D. Curry

Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel Brian D. Curry, originally from Shepherdsville, KY and currently stationed at Rock Island Arsenal, IL, returned to his heavenly home Thursday, May 24, 2018.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Melissa, and their three sons Jacob, Noah, and Benjamin; his parents, Benjamin and Imogene Curry; his father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Marion Weber; and many other family and friends who will forever miss him.

Brian was preceded in death by his two brothers, Greg Curry and Gerald Curry.

Brian faithfully and honorably served his Lord and his country as a Chaplain in the United States Army.  As a Chaplain, he ministered to soldiers and their families while stationed at Rock Island Arsenal, IL; Fort Leavenworth, KS; Fort Campbell, KY; Fort Lee, VA; Camp Casey, South Korea; and Fort Knox, KY.  Chaplain Lt. Col. Curry also served two years in Afghanistan.

Before his Army service, he served as pastor at Munfordville Baptist Church in Munfordville, KY. He also served as a youth minister at Munfordville Baptist Church, Cedar Grove Baptist Church, and Jellico Baptist Church.

Brian earned his Master’s of Divinity at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY and his Bachelor’s of Communications at the University of Louisville. He was a graduate of Bullitt Central High School.  Brian was a man who was loved and cherished by many. His presence will be forever missed by all who were fortunate and blessed to know him.

A Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday June 1, 2018, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 4900 Cedar Grove Rd. Shepherdsville, Ky., with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery to follow.  Friends may pay their respects from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, and from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Friday at the church.

Sylvia Ann Thornton, age 64, of Marion County, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 25th, 2018 at her residence after an illness. She was a faithful member of Tuckers Hill Baptist Church.  She was born on August 18th, 1953 to James Johnson and Elizabeth (Thornton) Johnson, both of Lebanon, Ky.

She is preceded in death by her Brother: Walter L. Williams.

She is survived by her Father: James G. Johnson and Mother: Elizabeth A. Johnson both of Lebanon; Brother: James T. Johnson of Georgia; Sisters: Christine Grundy, Dorothy L. Clark both of Lebanon, Tammye Henderson and Lisa J. Houston both of Louisville. Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Sylvia will be conducted on Thursday, May 31st, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Campbell-Fisher Funeral Home.
The family requests visitation on Thursday, May 31st, 2018 after 11:00 A.M. at Campbell-Fisher Funeral Home.
Officiating will be Lonnie Johnson
Burial will take place in the Tuckers Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Dorothy Kate Smith

Mrs. Dorothy Kate Smith of Campbellsville left this world for her eternal home on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Born July 4, 1929 to the late Rufus Ernest and Sallie Flora (Groves) Johnson, she was 88 years, 10 months, and 22 days of age. Mrs. Smith was a retired employee of the Fruit of the Loom plant, having served there 29+ years. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Life Church of God.

She leaves to mourn her passing:
   Her daughter: Sarah Hunter and husband Wilbur of Campbellsville,
   Two siblings: Annie Richardson of Louisville, and Charles Johnson of Campbellsville,
   Four grandchildren: Deronte Smith, Yuvonda Payne, Marshauna Smith, and Jalandra Penick,
   Four great-grandchildren: Lamar Payne, Andre Payne, Caleb Payne, and Madison Smith,
   And a host of other family and friends.

   She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vester Smith; a daughter, Flora Ernestine “Tina” Smith; and nine siblings, Sue Ella Flowers, George Johnson, Luther Johnson, Willie Johnson, James Johnson, Lawrence Johnson, Robert Johnson, Lonie Johnson, and Leroy Johnson.

   There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Smith on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church, 704 E Broadway, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. James Clayton will be presiding over the service with Bishop William Paul Hardin delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery, Hwy 70, Campbellsville, KY.

   The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, June 3, from 5:00-8:00 PM.

Johnny “Wheelman” Wheeler

Johnny “Wheelman” Wheeler of Campbellsville, son of Maryvene Walls Wheeler and the late Junior Wheeler, was born July 16, 1963, in Marion County, Kentucky.  He died at 12:08 A.M., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in Campbellsville.    Age:  54

Johnny was a believer in Christ.  He was an employee of Wholesale Hardwood Interiors for over twenty years.  Johnny, better known as “The Wheelman”, had a successful career in the dirt track racing circuit and was instrumental in helping others get into the sport of go cart racing. He was very thankful for all the support he received from his fans during his racing career.  Outside of racing, his greatest joy was spending time with family and grandchildren.

He united in marriage to Jammie Cox July 22, 2005. 

Besides his wife, Jammie  Wheeler of Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter and one son:  Amber Vaughn and husband, Brad of Campbellsville and Johnathan Michael Wheeler and wife, Katie of Greenville, South Carolina; two step-children:  Ashley Hoosier and John Bradley Hoosier of Campbellsville; four grandchildren:  Hunter Vaughn and Reace Vaughn of Campbellsville and Izabella Wheeler and Blayden Wheeler of Greenville, South Carolina; his mother, Maryvene Wheeler of Sonora; one brother and one sister:  Larry Wheeler and Frankie Cox and husband, Roger of Campbellsville; special friends:  Lewis Brady and wife, Phyllis of Summersville, Kelly Wheeler and wife, Dolly, George McDonald and Robbie Wilson and wife, Shannon of Campbellsville and the Petty Family. several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Lynn Wheeler December 18, 1991.

John Morris Mardis, Sr

Mr. John Morris Mardis, Sr. of Campbellsville passed from this life on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville after a sudden illness. Born in Denver, Colorado on February 19, 1948 to the late Dr. Richard Earl and Elizabeth (Jacob) Mardis, he was 70 years, 3 months, and 5 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. He retired from Walmart in Campbellsville after 20+ years of service, having spent most of those years working in the electronics department. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, and loved to target shoot. A natural Mr. Fix-it, he enjoyed creating tools or techniques to solve problems as well.

He leaves to mourn his passing:
   His wife: Linda K. (Kidd) Mardis,
   One son: John “Johnny” Mardis, Jr. and fiancé Natasha “Nat” Groenewoud,
   One sister: Linda Ruley of Louisville,
   Special friends: Melvin Skaggs, Zach Tobin, Marshall Johnson, and Glenn Kidd,
   And a host of other friends and family.

   He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Cameron Mardis in 1995, and two brothers, Richard Earl Mardis, Jr., and Billy Mardis.

   There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Mardis on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Dr. James Jones will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery, W. Main St, Campbellsville, KY.
   The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 30, after 10:30 AM until time for the service.

Shelby Lee Goode, age 21 of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 following an automobile accident. She was born April 11, 1997 and was raised in Saint Francis.

She was a 2015 graduate of Marion County High School. She was named First Team Allstate Class 2-A in Volleyball and was awarded 20th District Player of the Year. She attended Midway College on a Volleyball scholarship. She played on the USA Volleyball Team and competed in Australia. She worked at Bluegrass Cellular in Lebanon and was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church.

She is survived by her parents, Kim Thomas of Willisburg and Eddie and Tonya Goode of Saint Francis; three siblings, Sarah Goode, Savannah Goode and Emily Helms all of Saint Francis; her grandparents, Curt and Chris Goode of Saint Francis, Danny and Marie Thomas of Campbellsville and Robert and Shirley Lynch of Lebanon; her great-grandmother, Bernice Lawson of Campbellsville.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Dr. David B. Whitlock will officiate. Cremation will follow.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home.

Paul Edward “Bud” Witham

Paul Edward “Bud” Witham of Campbellsville, son of the late Paul Witham and Mable Parsons Witham, was born May 12, 1938, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 8:15 A.M., Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Campbellsville.   Age: 80

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Bud was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after thirty-five years of service.   He loved farming, especially tobacco and also enjoyed hunting and going to the flea markets to shop.

He united in marriage to Laverne Sapp November 13, 1953.
Besides his wife, Laverne Sapp Witham of Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter and two sons: Diane Cave and husband, Jimmy, Dale Witham and wife, Barbara and David Witham and wife, Felipa of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren: Jamie Cave and Nathan Witham and wife, Bethany of Campbellsville, Danielle Best of North Carolina, Austin Witham and wife, Frankie of Abilene, Texas, Daniel Witham and girlfriend, Ashley Gilbert, Jesus Romero Cid and Angelina Witham of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren: Faylee Witham, Michael Witham and Abby Witham; three brothers and one sister: Kenneth Witham and wife, Becky, Roger Witham and wife, Elaine and Fred Witham and wife, Brenda of Campbellsville and Brenda Sapp and husband, Phillip of Mt.
