Fannie England Hall of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ira England and Sular Janes England, was born May 28, 1926, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 6:45 P.M., Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in Mayfield.  Age:  91

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Fannie was a retired employee of Kroger in Campbellsville after many years of service.

She united in marriage to Carl Hall May 29, 1954 and he preceded her in death April 12, 2007.

She is survived by two daughters: Terrie Hall of Campbellsville and Debbie Samples and husband, Kenny of Mayfield; three grandchildren:  Ken Samples and wife, Samantha of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Grant Samples and wife, Katie and Anna Samples of Mayfield; two great-grandchildren:  Connor Samples of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Mason Samples of Mayfield; one brother, Herbert England of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Julia Ann Hall and five brothers and two sisters: Ira England, Jr., James England, Charles England, Raymond England, Truman England, Avis Bright and Mary Lollar.

Patricia Edwards Bertrand was born June 19, 1946 in Green County, KY to the late Roy S Edwards and Elsie Hunt Edwards. She departed this life Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Taylor Regional Hospital, Campbellsville, KY, having attained the age of seventy-one years, seven months and ten days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Elk Creek Baptist Church. She was a former sales person for The Lexington Herald Leader, Lexington, KY and a homemaker. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by three sons: Roy Durham, Terry Keith Durham and Henry Wayne (Sonny) Durham, Jr. and one daughter: Randie Caswell.

She is survived by her husband: Marvin Bertrand of Campbellsville, five sons: David Durham of Lexington, Robbie Durham of Campbellsville and Roy Durham II and his wife Tina of Georgetown, Michael Bertrand and his wife Ronda of Bardstown and Marvin Ralph Bertrand, Jr and his wife Sherri of Louisville, two sisters: Ginger Bressler and her husband Jerry of The Villages, Florida, Marilyn Dudley and her husband Sherman of Campbellsville, one brother: Tim Edwards and his wife Sandy of Greensburg, seventeen grandchildren: Jason Aboul-hosn, Tonya Hastings, Jesse Bright, Jerry Jo Bright, Keith Durham, Jacob Durham, Christine Durham, Nicole Sullivan, Kelsi Durham, Kannon Durham, Dallas Durham, Karys Durham, Nash Durham, Brent Bertrand, Emily Kiefer, Bailey Bertrand and Thomas Bertrand, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and after 7 a.m. Central Time Saturday

Nona Mae Jeffries

Nona Mae Jeffries, 83, of Savoyard passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018.  She was the daughter of the late Allen and Louella Keen Stephens and the wife of the late Gearon Jeffries.  Mrs. Jeffries was a member of Savoyard Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Page and husband Jesse of Savoyard, two grand-daughters, Christy Haynes of Glasgow and Autumn Emerson and husband Chris of Savoyard.  Three great-grandchildren, Gearon Haynes, Deanna and Amelia Emerson. One sister, Wanda Ballou of Columbia, one brother, Frank Stephens of Louisville and a host of nieces and nephews.     

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Gary Keith Jeffries, son- in- law Charles Henery Crowe, four brothers, Samuel, Walton, David, and Glen Stephens, and 5 sisters, Virginia, Mildred, Ernestine, Louella, and Diane Stephens.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 1st, at 2:00pm at Savoyard Baptist Church with burial in the Jeffries Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at Butler Funeral Home and after 9:00 AM Thursday until time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations are to be made to the Jeffries Cemetery at Savoyard.

Roberta Hess age 75, of Liberty, KY passed away on Sunday January 28th, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Mount Kisco, NY on June 1st, 1942 a daughter of the late Robert and Catherine Doyle Mercer.

Roberta was a Nurse.

Survivors include: Her Spouse: William Samuel Hess, Three Sons: Bill Hess of Liberty, Robert and (Christina) Hess of Toma, Wisconsin and John and (Katrina) Hess of Liberty, Four Grandchildren: Hannah, Kira, Aryona and Eli, One Brother: Joseph Mercer of OH and Two Sisters: Mary Elizabeth Rahilly of Hopewell Junction, NY and Dorothy Pittington of Wyoming. 

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by One Son: William John Hess, One Grandson: Kyler Morgan Hess and One Brother: Father John Mercer. 

Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. Thursday February 2nd, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday February 3rd, 2018 at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Deacon Joseph Dant officiating. Burial will in the St. Bernard Cemetery.

BETTY JO COFFEY PHILLIPS

BETTY JO COFFEY PHILLIPS 80, formerly of Pellyton and Campbellsville, KY passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:40 PM at the Signature Health Care Summit Manor
in Columbia, KY.  She was born January 24, 1938 in Louisville, KY the daughter of the late Fred Warren and Ada B. Workman Coffey.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Phillips on January 9, 1981

Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Tabernacle Christian Church and attended the Campbellsville Christian Church for many years. She was a teacher in the Adair County School System for over 40 years.  She taught in the one room schools, Knifley and Shepherd Grade Centers. She was a graduate of Campbellsville College and received her Master Degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She was a member of the Kentucky Education Association and the Taylor Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Betty was very active in the Adair County and Taylor County Homemakers Clubs.

Survived by two daughters:
  Angie (Allen) Johnson of Campbellsville, KY
  Pam (Mike) Flanagan of Somerset, KY
Three grandchildren; Andrea (Chris) Hutson, Alex (Jennifer) Johnson, Ryan Flanagan
Two great grandchildren; Brooklyn Johnson and Luke Johnson
And a host of friends.

Lois J. Post, 88, of Russell Springs, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown.  She was born September 27, 1929 in Cinn., Ohio to the late William & Pansy Wilson Hadley.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifford Post; a
son, Gary Burton.

Mr. Joseph Harold Craig, age 93 of Lebanon, KY, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Taylor Regional Hospital. He was born on November 1, 1924 in Marion County, KY.

Mr. Craig was a proud farmer. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Bowman Craig; parents, George Alfred and Mary Bell Ray Craig; daughter, Alice Jane Craig; grandsons, Eric Brussell and Joseph Michael Craig, Jr., brothers, Alsonzo Craig, Smith Craig and Hillman Craig; sister, Elizabeth Knopp (Ed). 

Survivors include two daughters, Carlotta Brussell (Eddie), of Lebanon, Mary Browning (Allen), of Bardstown; four sons, Joseph Michael Craig (Connie), Phillip Ray Craig (Tina) and Robert Julius Craig, all of Calvary, KY, George Dean Craig, of Dayton, OH; four granddaughters, Kati Dailey (Patrick), of Bardstown, Morgan Craig, of Springfield, Shelby and Kinley Craig, of Calvary, KY; three grandsons, Craig Browning, of Louisville, Waylan and Travis Craig, of Calvary. Also surviving are four great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. 
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bosley Funeral Home with prayer services at 7:00 that evening.

Mark Schorman, 53, of Columbia, died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 3:05 A.M. at the TJ Health/Columbia Emergency Room.  He was born October 17, 1964 in Chicago, IL, to the late George Edward & Hazel Louise Pickerell Schorman. 

He was a barrel inspector for Independent Stave Company in Marion County.

Survivors Include:
His Wife – Gina McClister Schorman of Columbia
Two Daughters – Brittany Schorman (Matt Stone) & Tiffany Schorman (Ben Harmon) both of Columbia

Janet Faye Pickett age 79 of Edmonton passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton.    Born in Columbus, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Dallas and Nettie Harvey Brown.   

She was a homemaker and of the Methodist Church.   

She is survived by her husband Lawrence Pickett of Edmonton.    One son Brian Rogers of Edmonton.   Two daughters.   Judy Gilliland of Hope, Indiana and Janice Clymer of Columbus, Indiana.  Nine grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.  

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Richard Brown, sister Violet England, step son Larry Pickett and a grandson Jeremy Daniels.  

Funeral services
will be held 1:00 PM  Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Maple Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 9:00 AM until service time  Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jalisa Shanee Lavee Smith, 29 years, 11 months and 13 days of age, of Louisville died Thursday, January 25, 2018, in Louisville.

Jalisa was born on February 12, 1988 in Louisville the daughter of Jaron S. Teague and Rechel Smith-Calvillo, both of Louisville.  

She was a former student of the University of Louisville, loved shopping, cooking and especially taking care of her boys.     She was a very friendly lady with a very outgoing personality which shined with her love of organizing family gatherings.   She had made a profession of faith in Christ several years ago and was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. 

Besides her parents, she is survived by two sons, Milo Helton and Silas Helton, her grandmothers, Barbara Turner and Helen Boyd and step-father, Miguel Sanchez all of Louisville.  Also surviving are her aunts, Yolanda Garay, Louisville, Jarella Blake, Texas and Cathy Estes, Greenville; an uncle Junior Smith, Louisville; a great-aunt, Evelyn Turner and great-uncles, George Turner and Robert Turner and several cousins.

Funeral services for Jalisa Smith will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30th at Pleasant Union Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Caldwell officiating.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery with bearers being, Junior Smith, Miguel Sanchez, Adrian Turner, Damon Forcelledo, Daniel Arellana and Cameron Turner. 
The family requests visitation on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the funeral at the church.
