OPAL AMERINE COOMER 85 years of Palos Hills, Illinois formerly of the Fairplay Community of Adair County, KY passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Manorcare Nursing Home in Palos Hills, Illinois.

She was born May 19, 1930 in Fairplay, KY the daughter of the late: Joe Richard and

Nona May Loy McClister

She was preceded in death by one son: Ronnie Coomer

Survived by her husband 67 years: Floyd Coomer of Palos Hills, Illinois

Two sons:

Dennis Coomer & wife Linda of Orland, Illinios

Floyd Coomer Jr. & wife Tina of Bridgeview, Illinois

Three daughters:

Linda Dyer & husband Glenn of Darien, Illinois

Phyllis Szabo of Burbank, Illinois

Debbie Coomer of Bridgeview, Illinois

One sister: Mae Curry of Russell Springs, KY

7 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren

Also survive by several nieces and nephews other relatives and friends

Jean Wilson Johnston passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. She was 80. 

Born December 17, 1934 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Esta Zackary Wilson. She was a homemaker and former owner and operator of Hilltop Grocery. She was a member of the Christian Church. 

Survivors include a son, Larry Joe Johnston II of Hopkinsville; a daughter, Lisa Gerri Johnston; of Paducah; four grandchildren, Reagan, Trey, Ramsey, and Sarah; five brothers, Harold, Kenneth, Carl, Dale and Paul Wilson; and a sister, Patricia Wilson. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan and Leo Wilson; and two sisters, Veltha True and Deltha Lay. 

Memorial services are 12:00 Noon Thursday, April 30, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating. Burial is in the Wilson Cemetery. 

Visitation is Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon.

Violet “Sally” Wood

Violet “Sally” Wood passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Liberty Care Center. She was 86. 

Born January 27, 1929 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Myrtle Whited Randolph. She was a quilter and homemaker. Ms. Wood was a member of the First Church of God. 

Survivors include two sons, Timothy (and Glenda) Wood of Powhatan, Virginia and Stephen (and Shirley)Wood of Liberty; four daughters, Joyce Hatfield, Irma Parton, Leona Perkins, and Mary (and Freddie) Cook, all of Liberty; fifteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Streeval of Liberty. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elmer Irvin Wood, who passed away October 25, 1976; seven brothers, Charles, Harold, Gordon, John, Glen, Ronald, and Shirley Dee Randolph; and seven sisters, Edith Wilkinson, Dora Randolph, Rosa Randolph, Lillian Edwards, Lois Baxter, Elnora Vanoy and Anna Jane Brown. 

Funeral services are 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Garry Allen and Bro. Phillip Smallwood officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery. 

Visitation is Monday from 5:00-9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Taylor Allan Woods

Taylor Allan Woods of the Walltown Community in Casey County, KY passed away Friday, April 24, 2015. He was 17 years old. 

Born September 28, 1997 in Boyle County, KY, he is the son of Donna Williams Woods of the Walltown Community and the late Thomas Woods. He was a senior at the Casey County High School. Taylor loved motorcycles, wood working, and playing pool. He was a Junior Fire Fighter and enjoyed all outdoors activities. 

In addition to his mother, survivors include a host of very special friends; a maternal grandmother, Beulah Williams of Middleburg; paternal grandparents, Betty Woods and Norman Harrison, both of Pleasant Plains, Ohio; a brother, Thomas Hagen Woods of Walltown; and several aunts and uncles. 

Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Lynville Hatter officiating. Taylor will be laid to rest in Salyers Cemetery. 

Visitation is Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home from 4:00-9:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 8:00 A.M. until funeral service.

Carson Lee Johnson, age 27 days young, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015, at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset. 

Carson was born March 29, 2015, in Lexington, KY. He was the infant son of Brian and Lauren Price Johnson. Other survivors include a brother, Clay Johnson; paternal grandparents, Gary and Carla Johnson; paternal great grandfather, Gene Johnson; special paternal grandparents, Carl and Alene Hicks; maternal grandparents, Jay and Carol Price; maternal great-grandmothers, Daisy Short and Lola McAninch; uncle, Bradley (Lori) Johnson; and aunt, Lindsay (Jon) Keen. 

The Johnson family will have a private funeral ceremony. There will be no visitation. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions In Memory of Carson Johnson are suggested to the Kentucky Children’s Hospital Pediatric Palliative Care Fund, Office of Development, 138 Leader Avenue, Lexington, KY 40506-9983.

Marie Allen of Liberty, Kentucky passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. She was 82. 

Born December 26, 1932 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late W.C. “Buddy” Emerson and Myrtle Grooms Emerson. She was a homemaker and a loving mother, and grandmother. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Shirley Allen, who passed away July 28, 1982; a son, James “Jimmy” Roy Allen; 2 daughters, Judy Kay Mowrer and Velma May Allen; a granddaughter, Tonya Allen; brothers, John, James T., Amos, Pete, Leslie and Everett Emerson; and sisters, Ida Emerson Edith Wright, Beulah Farris, Ollie Allen, Alice Hayes,and Donnie Lee. 

Survivors include 2 sons, Johnny (and Katrina) Allen of Liberty and Mark (and Michelle) Allen of Tennessee; 9 daughter, Joan (and Delton) Coppage of Liberty, Thelma (and Neal )Tucker of Knifley, Katherine (and Junior) Brown of Liberty, Donna (and William) Myers of Liberty, Helen (and Freddie) Vonlinger of Lancaster, Rebecca (and Stanley) Coffey of Russell Springs, and Marilyn Earles of Moreland ; a daughter-in-law, Bernice Allen of Campbellsville; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mollie Vaughn of Liberty. 

Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Grace Baptist Church with Bro. Johnny Davis and Pastor Steve Mullins officiating. Burial is in Whited Cemetery. 

Visitation is Friday from 4:00-9:00 P.M. at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, Saturday from 8:00-11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, and Saturday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. at Grace Baptist Church. 

In lieu of flower, donation may be given to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.

James Theodore “Thedie” Taylor

James Theodore “Thedie” Taylor, age 68, of Campbellsville died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his home in Campbellsville.

Thedie was born was the son of the late Olie Bobinson and Willie May Taylor on December 4, 1946 in Green County. He had worked as a farm and construction worker and as a meat cutter at Wise Slaughter House. He married Lou Willie Smith in 1977 and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2004. He was a member of the Pleasant Run Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters: Nichelle Taylor and Schemanda Taylor of Campbellsville; three step daughters, Sarah Edelen and Julie Hatcher of Campbellsville, and Celeste Black of Orlando, FL; and two step sons, Hearie Haskins and Harrison Haskins of Campbellsville, KY; 14 grandchildren12 great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 28th at First Baptist Church in Campbellsville where visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Reatha (Luttrell) Eads who survives.

Hobert was born in Liberty, Kentucky on July 28, 1925, a son of the late Luella (Luttrell) and Ruben Eads. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Pevely and one son, Roger Eads.

He was a member of Jennie's Chapel United Methodist Church and worked as a Farmer and Logger.

Hobert is survived by 

a daughter, Phyllis West, of Russell Springs, KY; 

two sons Bobby Eads, of Windsor, KY and Jerry Eads, of Somerset, Ky.

He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren,two sisters, Delois Stargle, of Liberty, KY; Irene Stargel , of Illinois.

Judith Russell Vaughn of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Arnold Russell, Sr. and Dorothy Hagedorn Russell, was born May 2, 1950, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in Campbellsville. Age: 64 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. 
She was a retired employee of Parker-Kalon Division. 
She is survived by one daughter, Amy Vaughn and significant other, Jesse Morgan of Campbellsville; three granddaughters: Chloe Layne Decker, Olivia Vaughn Morgan and Sophia Gregory Morgan of Campbellsville; one brother and one sister: “Biff” Russell and wife, Evelyn of Campbellsville and Ms. Pat Russell of Louisville; one niece and one nephew: Amanda Hurtgen and husband, Eric and Adam Russell and wife, Heather of Campbellsville; several great-nieces and great-nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Chesley Richards, 95, of Russell Springs, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. He was born January 19, 1920 in Russell County to the late Brice & Laura Grider Richards.

He was a auto mechanic and a deacon at Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church.

2 daughters: Ann Johnson and Phyllis Richards, both of Russell Springs
