Patricia Jean Followell 1944-2022

Patricia Jean Followell, age 78 of Hustonville, passed away Monday, October 31, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born September 08, 1944 in San Bernadino, CA to the late Walter and Sybil Stinson Fuell. Pat married her loving husband on Christmas Eve in 1964.
​
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry and Billy Fuell; and sister, Jackie Dangelmaier.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Foster Followell; daughters, Amy Jo of Danville and Carol Dawn of Bradfordsville; sister, Mary Cochran; she was the Nanny of Ashley (Jay) Easterling, Joseph (Cassie) Followell, and Alexis Padgett; she was the Great-Nanny to Kyleigh Craig, Alyssa, Carter and Aiden Easterling, Brantley and Barrett Followell, Ky’Reeze and Kh’Mani Penix; 2 special men she called her boys, Kenny Merriman and Waiton Beeler; 2 special friends she called her sisters, Wanda Chambers and Brenda Jo Helm; special brother-in-law, Robert Followell; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 01, 2022 at Bosley Funeral Home, officiated by Brother Donovan Smith. Interment will follow in Old Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until time of service on Tuesday at Bosley Funeral Home.
​
Pallbearers will be Joseph Followell, Robert Followell, Jay Easterling, Jeffrey Cochran, Brian Dangelmaier, and Kenny Merriman.

Rachel Lee Wojtanowski 1983-2022

Rachel Lee Wojtanowski, 39, of Elizabethtown, KY died Monday, October 31, 2022, at Baptist Hospital Elizabethtown. She was born September 9, 1983, in Harvey, IL to Robert Wojtanowski and Wanda Coomer Fogelsong.

Rachel was of the Christian faith and was an avid video gamer. She enjoyed comic books with her favorite being Spiderman, reading and spending time with her family and friends especially her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her mother Wanda Coomer Fogelsong of Elizabethtown, father, Robert Wojtanowski of Hammond, IN, three siblings Zipporah Tyler (Lewis), Monique Fogelsong of Elizabethtown, KY and Keturah O’Brien of Roseville, MI; nieces and nephews Mia, Liam, Eli, and Lily Tyler, Kassius and Julius Dempster, and Bruce and Ketzia O’Brien, and several other friends and relatives also survive.

Graveside services will be 1:30pm Friday, November 4, 2022, at Haven Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00am-1:00pm at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Miyanta Emony “Mony” Matney of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of Daniel Dewayne Matney, her special mother, Shannon Matney of Greensburg, and Takeisha Mitchell of Ohio, was born on Saturday, June 7, 1997 in Taylor County and departed this life on Monday, October 31, 2022 in Lexington. She was 25 years, 4 months, and 24 days of age.
​
She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Second Baptist Church, and was a former booking agent for Serco.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her children: Zayne Gilbert, Zandria Gilbert, and Zachariah Gilbert all of Greensburg; grandparents: Kenneth Matney of Greensburg, Louise Mitchell-Johnson of Ohio; special grandparents: Earl Barnett and Mary Jane Barnett of Campbellsville; two brothers and a sister: Isaiah Matney, Rashad Dunn, and Cequinta Dunn all of Greensburg; fiancé: Thomas Alexander Gilbert; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mony was preceded in death by her grandmother: Alice Jean Matney.

The funeral services for Miyanta Emony “Mony” Matney will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Central Time, Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home.
Visitation is requested after 10:00 A.M., Central Time, Saturday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to The Hope Center, Kosair Children’s Charities, or the Second Baptist Church which can be made at the funeral home.

Johnnie Ray Potts 1965-2022

Johnnie Ray Potts, age 57 of Campbellsville, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Taylor Regional Hospital. He was born March 24, 1965 in Lebanon to the late Johnny Derwood Potts, Jr. and Clara Jean Potts. Johnnie was of the Baptist faith and loved spending time outdoors fishing and riding motorcycles. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Derwood, Jr and Clara Jean Potts.

He is survived by his two sisters, Theresa Potts (Chad Cox) and Carolyn Potts (Leigh Ann Fogle), both of Campbellsville; three nephews, Sebastian Ryan Lanham, Dakota Wayne Young and Dalton Dale Cox, all of Campbellsville; one niece, Gabrielle Renee Young of Campbellsville; and a host of other family members and friends.

Per the families wishes, cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Delbert Corbin 1930-2022

Delbert Corbin, 92, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 2:14 A.M. at his home.

He was born April 22, 1930, in Adair County, to the late Thomas and Ida Mae Stotts Corbin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a baby son, Nicholas Homer Corbin and a step-son, Steve Lankford.  He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army and was instrumental in establishing Haven Mission Church in Columbia.

He attended Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia after answering the call to preach.  His first church assignment as Pastor was Vanleer E.U.B. Church in Vanleer, TN.  He pastored there for three years.  Subsequent churches that he pastored were:  Edwards Chapel and Grants Chapel in East Tennessee, Whitwell Chapel and Cedar Grove in Perry County, TN.  He pastored four United Brethren Churches in Ohio:  Wren, Greenbrier, Liberty and Otterbein, moving back to Tennessee in 1970.  He bought and operated a grocery store in Vanleer for several years, continuing to serve various churches in the area, preaching where needed.  He also worked as a self-employed contractor, laying brick and block and building houses
​

Survivors include: His wife – Elizabeth Satterfield Corbin of Columbia
Six children – Douglas Corbin, Philip Corbin, Connie Corbin Brenner, Julie Corbin Nolen, Kenneth Corbin and Scotty Corbin
Nine step-children – Reta Reynolds, Barbara Duncan, Dean Lankford, Dennis Lankford, Donald Lankford, Joan Cash, Gail Coomer, Danny Lankford, Vikki Stargel
Numerous Grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Funeral service – Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Haven Mission Church
Burial in Antioch Cemetery will full military honors presented by V.F.W. Post 6097
Visitation after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Haven Mission Church

Mary Irene Miller Walker Nell, 107, of Columbia, KY, resident of Frankfort, KY, passed on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at her daughter’s residence in Frankfort, KY.

Born in Crocus, KY on July 24, 1915, she was preceded in death by her parents Laura Willis and Adam Albert Miller, siblings Albert Adam Miller II, Ella Wilkerson Hill, Edwin Miller, Mildred Darnell, Nancy Smith, Helen Barth, Reed Miller, Sam Miller, and Charles Miller; husbands, John Ritchie Walker and Willie Lile “Bill” Nell and son David Lee Walker.

Survivors include her daughter Sue Nell Kirkman (Joe); grandchildren John Walker of Hardinsburg, IN, Janet Walker of Frankfort, KY, Pam Walker of Campbellsville, KY, Teresa Boots of Sebring, FL, Kelly Lundgren Dycus (Jeff) of Frankfort, KY and Susan Lundgren Payton (Keith) of Frankfort, KY; seven great grandchildren and six great, greatgrandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A member of the Columbia Baptist Church for over 50 years, Irene moved to Frankfort to live with her daughter in 2007 and regularly attended Crestwood Baptist Church in Frankfort until a year ago. Irene and her husband Bill owned and ran Nell’s Variety Store on the square in Columbia, KY for 28 years.

Graveside services will be 1:30pm Monday, November 7, 2022, at Columbia Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 11:00am-1:00pm at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Brookelyn Dreka Shoaf was born and passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Brookelyn was the daughter of Joseph Larry and Tiffany Nicole Wethington Shoaf, of Liberty. She is also survived by two brothers, Dmitri Shoaf and Damen Shoaf; two sisters, Jolene Shoaf and Elexas Shoaf; maternal grandmother, Melissa Cox; maternal grandfather, Kenny Wethington; maternal great-grandparents, Ronald (Geraldine) Cox; and maternal great-grandfather, Paul Wethington. Other survivors include paternal grandfather, Larry Shoaf (Tracy Grider); paternal grandmother, Candace Garrett; and paternal great-grandmother, Rosemary Shoaf.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Poplar Springs Cemetery with Bro. Johnny Maupin officiating.

Larry Bowman Franklin was born on July 6, 1936 in Campbellsville to the late Lawrence Franklin and Edna Shivel Franklin.  He passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022 in Campbellsville at the age of 86.

He is survived by his cousins:  Carolyn Barnett and Jayne Hogan, both of Campbellsville.

Jamie Lynn Carroll, 42, of Columbia, KY died Friday, October 28, 2022, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY. She was born in Columbia, Ky on February 21, 1980, she is the daughter of  Lawrence and Glenda Marple Carroll of Columbia, KY.​

Ms. Carroll was of the Christian faith and enjoyed doing crafts and going out to eat. Since becoming a resident of Summit Manor Nursing Home, she had met many new friends and enjoyed spending time with them and her family.
​

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter Kandace Carroll of Russell Springs, KY; three grandchildren and a brother Tommy Wheeler of Columbia, KY.

The family chose cremation, and a memorial service will be held later at Mt. Zion Church.

Mary Lee Pierce Greenwell, 94, of Corydon, IN, passed away Friday, October 28th, at Indian Creek Nursing Home, Corydon, IN. 

Mary was born in Burkesville, KY on October 8, 1928, a daughter of the late Thelma (Humphrey) and Brance Scott. 

Mary is survived by 
three daughters, Regina McGlinn (Jerry), of Brandenburg, KY; 
Rayetta (Dean) Taylor, of Charlestown, IN; 
Teresa (Mark) Kochert, of Corydon, IN; 
daughter in law Nancy Pierce, of St. Petersburg, FL 
three sons Joel Pierce, of Brandenburg, KY; Danny Pierce, of Indianapolis, IN; Evan (Melissa) Pierce, of Mauckport, IN; 
a sister, Sally Finely, of Indianapolis, IN. 

She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, a host of great and great great grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray Pierce, 2 sons James and Ralph Pierce, 1 grandchild and 7 siblings. 

Visitation will be held 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 2nd at H. E. Pruitt Memory Chapel 202 N. Main St. in Jamestown, KY. 

Burial in the Lands Chapel Cemetery, Hwy 127, Albany, KY
