Marty S. York, age 67 of Marrowbone, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky. Marty was born on June 12, 1950 in Glasgow, Barren County, KY to the late Fred Jackson York and Geneva Imogene Thomas York.

 Marty was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was the owner and operator of A & Y Enterprises.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Jackson York, and one brother, Charles Fred York.  Marty was united in marriage to his wife Ladon York on September 18th 1971 in Jamestown, TN.

They were blessed with four children who also survive, Sonya Lynn Hadley and her husband Jeff of Anderson, IN, Tonya Leigh Anderson of Marrowbone, KY, Matthew S. York and his wife Chasity of Marrowbone, KY, and Erika Y. Possel and her husband Robert of Bowling Green, KY. Other survivors include one brother, Larry Sid York of Burkesville, KY, two sisters, Barbara Anderson of Bowling Green, KY, and Debera Long of Campbellsville, KY, twelve grandchildren, Harrison, Georgia May, Johnathon, Abigail, Kaydence, John, Mason, Malachi, Winston, Tucker, McKenzie, and Lukas, along with a host of other relatives and friends.    

The funeral service for Marty S. York will be held on Saturday, July 01, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with Bro. Tim Hall officiating. Burial will be in Marrowbone Cemetery with military honors.  Family requests visitation on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.

Verlean Dykes, 72, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Tuesday June 27th at her home.
Verlean was born in Jabez, KY on May 18, 1945, a daughter of the late Clara (Wiggington) and Frank Crockett.

Verlean was the owner of a fabric store and the wife of James (Bud) Dykes, of Jamestown, KY.

She is also survived by 
son Terry Dykes, of Jamestown, KY.
daughter Annetta Dykes, of Jamestown, KY.
three brothers Phyliss and Wayne Crockett of Columbia, KY.
Galean Crockett, of Jamestown, KY.
three sisters Lois Meece, Vonzie Hill and Gladys Daniels, all of Jamestown, KY.
two grandchildren Robbie Kimbler, Terry Brandon Dykes and eleven great grandchildren including on special great grandchild Terry Logan Dykes.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her in laws Frank and Lula Dykes.

Funeral Services for Verlean Dykes will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY.
Friday June 30th 11:00am with Pastor Craig Huddleston officiating.
Friends may visit on Thursday after 5:00pm at the funeral home.
Eastern Star Service at 7:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home.

George Coe, 79, of Russell Springs, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at his home. He was born June 18, 1938 in Russell County to the late George H. & Florence Antle Coe.

He was the owner of Coe's Steak House and a member of 3trees Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Coe; granddaughter, Ashley Suzzanne Coe; brother, Tom Coe; 2 half brothers, Brock Coe, Joe Coe; half sister, Nina Coe

Survivors
son: Gerald (Angela) Coe, Russell Springs
grandson: Gunnar Coe, Russell Springs
2 step granddaughters: Sommer (Alex) Schoch, Covington, Ky
                           Elizabeth (Mack) Bowen, Russell Springs
1 step great granddaughter: Lydia Brown

Funeral service for George Coe will be 10 AM. Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Curt Hill officiating.
Visitation 5-8 PM. Thursday.

Ms. Naomi Taylor, age 52 of Campbellsville, KY, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. She was born on June 7, 1965 in Columbus, Indiana. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Taylor. 

Survivors include her mother, Ruth Pope Taylor, of Greensburg, KY; two sons, Joseph M. Downs Taylor, of Lebanon, KY, Randy Taylor, of Somerset, KY; two sisters, Tammy Taylor and Goldie Bybee, both of Columbia, KY; five brothers, Danny Pope, of Indiana, Wallie Taylor, of Colunbia, KY, William Taylor, of Columbia, KY, Kenny Taylor, of Columbia, KY, Adam Taylor, of Campbellsville, KY. Also surviving are special friends and family members. 

Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Bosley Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Rueal Boils. Intertment to follow in Ryder Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2017 at Bosley Funeral Home.

He was a veteran of U.S. Navy and attended Russell Springs First Baptist Church. He was born  on  Monday January 23, 1928 in Louisville, Kentucky Son of :

He is also survived by :

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jacqueline, and a son Lee Roy Johnson.

Visitation will be Friday June 30, 2017 10:00 AM till 1:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday June 30, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 East Steve Wariner  Drive, Russell Springs, Kentucky with Bro. Eddie Webster officiating. Interment will be in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Barton Run Road, Clarkson, Kentucky.

Bonnie Lou Lowe Curry

Bonnie Lou Lowe Curry of Green County, daughter of the late John W. Lowe and Hazel Perkins Lowe, was born on Sunday, June 5, 1949 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at her home. She was 68 years and 20 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ was a member of the Houk's Chapel United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

Survived by her husband of 45 years, Danny Dale Curry of Green County having united in marriage on July 31, 1971.
Other survivors include a sister and brother-in-law: Ruth Ann and Melvin Lile of Green County; four nephews; a niece; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Curry was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: Marlon Lowe and Betty Gentry.

The funeral services for Bonnie Lou Lowe Curry will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Ennis-Perkins Cemetery. Bro. Roger McKinney and Bro. Leo Curry officiating.
Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Thursday until time of the funeral service.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy of flowers are appreciated or the form of donations to the family funeral expenses.

Mr. Norman Moore, Sr

Mr. Norman Moore, Sr., age 84 of Lebanon, KY, departed this life Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born December 25, 1932 in Lebanon, KY. to the late Thomas Moore and Lottie Washington.

He served in the United States Army for twenty-two years with the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1970. Returning to Lebanon, he saw the need to join the NAACP where he became President of the Lebanon Branch, completing legal aid training. He helped citizens of his community fight injustices and achieve equality. Mr. Norman also trained in transmission repair, and had a love for fishing and hunting. 

He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Valentine Moore, Sarah Alice Bell Moore, Denise Douglas Moore; parents, Thomas Moore and Lottie Washington. 

Survivors include three sons, Lonnie Moore (Viola), of Lebanon, KY, Norman Moore, Jr., (Jacqueline), of Nashville, TN, Chad Thornton, of Louisville, KY; two daughters, Anita Moore, of Lexington, KY, Nikki Thornton, of Louisville, KY. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017 at Bosley Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Dale Smith. Interment to follow in Lebanon National Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veteran Honor Guard. 
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the funeral home.

​Meredith E. Womack, 81, of Russell Springs, passed away on Monday June 26th at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly, in London, KY.

Meredith was born in Russell Springs, KY March 17, 1936 a daughter of the late Eva (Rexroat) and Harrison B. Brown,Sr,

She was a retired store clerk and the wife of Paul Womack, of Russell Springs, KY

She is also survived by 
son Randy Womack, of Russell Springs, KY
three daughters Janet (Ensley) Wright , of Bowling Green, KY
Paulette Womack, of Russell Springs, KY
Susan (Danny) Stephens, of Russell Springs, KY
brother H.B. Brown, Jr., of Russell Springs, KY
two sisters Margaret Irvin, of Bowling Green, KY
Betty Morgan, of Russell Springs, KY
six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild also survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and a son David Womack

Funeral Services for Meredith Womack are at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY on Thursday June 29th 1:00pm with Bro. John Wilson officiating.
Friends may visit after 11:00am on Thursday at the funeral home.

Herlon Bradshaw, 77, of Jamestown, Kentucky, died Monday, May 8, 2017 at 4:13 P.M. at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset

He was born April 8, 1940, in Crocus, Kentucky, to the late Will and Rachel Holt Bradshaw. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Bradshaw and four sisters, Ramona Smith, Marsha Lee Jackson, Marcelene McKee, Mattie Sue Bradshaw.

He was a Mechanic for Fruit of the Loom for many years and a farmer.

Survivors include:
His wife – Earlene Smith Bradshaw of Jamestown
One son – Harold Bradshaw of Jamestown
One sister – Winnie Jackson of Louisville
One grandchild – Bryson William Keith Bradshaw
Several other relatives and friends

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 3, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Second Christian Church with Rev. Kenny Carter officiating

Nellie Garrett, 98, of Columbia, died Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 6:30 P.M. at her home.
She was born July 22, 1918, in Adair County, to the late Sam Loren & Gracie Smith Burton. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert A. Garrett on January 7, 1990, three brothers, Clyde, Willie & Clinton Burton, and two sisters, Beatrice Burton & Inez Roden.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors Include:
One daughter & son-in-law – Joyce & Randall Pyles of Columbia
Three Grandchildren – Cindi (Dan) Waggener, Doug (Tammy) Pyles & Craig (Carla) Pyles
Seven Great-Grandchildren – Will & Michael Waggener, Jacob, Luke, Zachary, Holly & Emily Pyles
Sister-in-law – Virginia Burton of Columbia
Special Friends – Brenda Nokes & Teresa Dean
