Verta Norris Johnson, 88, of Jamestown, died Friday, March 4, 2016 at her home. She was born February 15, 1928 in Russell County to the late Addis K. and Lora Mae Elmore Norris.
She taught for 47 years in the Russell County School System and was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Oval Norris
Survivors include:
Husband of 60 years, Aubrey Johnson
1 son: Rodney (Beth Ann) Johnson, Jamestown
2 granddaughters: Macey Johnson and Morgan Johnson
Funeral service for Verta Norris Johnson will be 1 PM. Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Kingry and Rev. Ed Parton officiating.
Visitation 4 PM. Sunday.
Interment in the Jamestown Cemetery.
