Tom Mize, Jr., age 78, of Somerset, KY, departed this life on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at his residence.
Tom was born on August 20, 1937 in Billows, KY to the late Tome Mize and Polly Huff Mize. He was a retired Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by three sons, Michael Mize of Broomfield, CO, Jim Mize of Dallas, TX and Gregory Mize of Spring Hill, FL; two brothers, Coby Mize of Lakewells, FL and Daniel Mize of Springhill, FL; a sister, Mildred Smith of Georgetown, OH; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters, Jean Asher, Sharon Groves, Lenora Mercer, Thelma Judge, and a brother; Buster Bowlin.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will follow the visitation on Thursday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Edwards and Pastor Don Sams officiating. Burial will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
