He had made a profession of faith in Christ. He was a Sophomore at Green County High School where he was a member of FFA, and FCA. He loved to ride four-wheelers, loved fishing, hunting, packing hay with his Papaw, and wrestling with his nephews.
Besides his parents Payton is survived by his grandfather: V.T. Altman of Greensburg; step-grandmother: Diane Curry of Buffalo; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Megan and JR Curry, and Brandy and Jason Tucker all of Summersville; two special nephews: Jake Tucker and Griffin Fields both of Summersville; aunts and uncles: Greg Altman of Campbellsville, Ralph and Treva Curry, Jean Stargel, Steve and Phyllis Curry all of Columbia, Judy and Jessie Bailey of Indiana, Gary and Lynn Curry of Greensburg, Terry and Rhonda Curry of Richmond, Bev Veirs and the late Roy Veirs of Hodgenville; and a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Mathis Altman, and Lester and Hazel Curry.
The Funeral services for Thomas Payton Altman will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bennett Cemetery. Bro. Greg Whitlow and Bro. Barney Taylor will be officiating.
Visitation is requested from 12 Noon until 9 P.M., Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Thursday until time of the funeral service.
Memorials are suggested to the charity or memorial of your chose, which can be made at the funeral home.
