Thelma Mae Spoon age 93 years of the Fairplay community passed away Saturday
April 16, 2016 at 6:30 AM at Signature Health Care & Rehab at Summit Manor.
She was born on Feb. 23, 1923 in Adair County.
She was the daughter of the late Gilbert & Bertha Stotts Smith.
She was the widow of Garvin Spoon who preceded her in death on June 12, 1974.
She was also preceded in death by a son Alvin Spoon on Oct. 2, 2015, a son-in-law Harold Corbin, a grandson Eric Corbin & one brother Hubert Smith.
She is survived by two sons Amon (Judy) Spoon of Fairplay, KY and Lester (Julita) Spoon of Fairplay, KY.
Four daughters Arlene Corbin of Columbia, KY, Alterine(Clifton) Hadley of Fairplay, KY, Bernadine Judd of Lawrenceville, GA & Geneva (Mark) Sok of Lexington, KY.
Daughter-in-law Bonnie Spoon of Fairplay, KY.
Four sisters Opal Pinto of Columbia, KY, Carolyn Benningfield of Campbellsville, KY, Verbia Bennecke of IL & Ernestine Bennett of Columbia, KY.
One Brother Ralph Smith of Columbia, KY
Fourteen Grandchildren
Twenty six Great Grandchildren
several nieces, nephews & a host of other relatives & friends survives
She was a member of Hadley's Community Church & had worked at Circle Restaurant & Jim Dandy Restaurant
A Celebration of her life will be held at Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Clergy officiating Rev. Elbert Hadley
Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery
