Steve was born on May 29, 1952 in Jabez, to the late Claude and Alice Eller Coffey. Steve is a graduate of Nancy High School Class of 72’, member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, and a Veteran of the US Army. He has worked for Pepsi for almost 40 years, serving restaurants in Pulaski, McCreary, and Lincoln Counties. He was known to everyone as “The Pepsi Man”. He loved being outside, working on the farm, and loved children.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Davis Coffey, whom he married on February 4, 1976 in Somerset; two sons, Chris (and Jaime) Coffey of Hazard, KY, Robert Coffey of Jabez, a daughter; Ashley Coffey (and David Mahaffey) of Jabez, two brothers; Dan Coffey of Jabez, Dewey Scott (and Katie) Coffey of Liberty, KY, two sisters; Sybil (and Barney) Barnes of South Carolina, Peggy (and Claude) Tiller of Somerset, three grandchildren; Zoey Hampton, Lyla Coffey, Davis Coffey, eight nieces and nephews; William (and Michelle) Perkins, Becky Perkins, Marcella Murray, Will Edens, Danny Coffey, Matthew Coffey, Benji Coffey, and Pam Coffey.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 5:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Phelps, Pastor Harold Brown, and Bro. Fred Shelton officiating. Burial will be in the Morrows Chapel Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #38.
In lieu of flowers, the family request expressions of sympathy to be made to the Oak Hill building fund or Morrows Chapel Cemetery fund.
