Russell Gilbert, age 69, of Nancy, KY, departed this life on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.
Russell was born on December 19, 1946 in Ferguson, KY to the late Mick Gilbert and Ruth Ella Sears Gilbert. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was a member of Ferguson Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Waddle Gilbert, whom he married on July 8, 1967 in Jellico, TN; two daughters, Dana Meadows of Glasgow, KY and Dalana (and Nathan) Nelson of Somerset, KY; a brother, Lloyd (and Wanda) Gilbert of Somerset, KY; five grandchildren, Matthew Nelson and Taylor Nelson of Somerset, KY, Adam Meadows, Tanner Meadows and Harley Smith of Glasgow, KY; many nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Wanda Carrol.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, James Fredrick Gilbert; and three sisters, Delberta Wesley, Arlene Smith and Patty Jane Jones.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11:00am at Ferguson Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will follow on Thursday at 12:30pm at the Church with Bro. Bobby Sexton and Bro. Ed Parson officiating.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or Ferguson Methodist Church.
