He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mr. Ray was a transportation officer for the Green County Fiscal Court for 18 years, and was a member of the Army National Guard Reserve.
Survived by his wife of 43 years, Ramona Sue Hall Ray of Greensburg, having united in marriage on August 10, 1972.
Other survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law: Earl "Shorty" Ray, Jr. and Destiny Ray, Donnie Earl Ray and his fiancé, Christy Harper, and Lonnie Dale "Bubba" Ray all of Greensburg; two brothers: Larry David Ray, and Albert "June Bug" Ray both of Greensburg; a half-brother: Dee Ray of Greensburg; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a special friend: Doug Warren of Campbellsville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Ray was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Mickey Ray, William Ray, Alene Underwood, Nora Ethel Coats; half-brothers and half-sisters: Twyman Ray, James Ray, Bill Ray, Sally Walker, and Helen Wright.
The funeral services for Mr. Ronnie Earl Ray, Sr. will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Hudson Cemetery in Green County. Dr. Gary Ervin officiating.
Visitation is requested from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M., Monday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Tuesday until time of the funeral service.
