Born on July 7, 1941 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Columbus Roy and Lorene Coffey Roy Chapman . He was a former employee of Tarter Gate and a farmer.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Louise Hambrick Roy, whom he married on December 22, 1962; three children, Timmy Roy of Dunnville, Mark Roy of Liberty, and Tonya Roy of Liberty; five grandchildren, Cheralyn Hatfield, Cassie Blevins, Tiffany Roy, Chelsea Lawhorn, and Lucas Wilson; five great grandchildren; a brother, Jackie (and Edith) Roy of Dunnville; and four sisters, Opal Bernard of Dunnville, Josephine (and Lloyd) Wilson of Liberty, Louise (and Don) Thomas of Liberty, and Brenda (and Earl) Wilson of Liberty; and many special nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Junior, Kelly, Lester, and Bobby Roy.
Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating. Ronald Gene Roy will be laid to rest at the 910 Full Gospel Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday from 6:00-9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Lucas Wilson, Adam Luttrell, Billy Roy, Edward Nolt, Vernon Lee, and Paul Luttrell. Honorary pallbearers are Otha Byrd, Cleo Whittle, Don Reed, and Mark Roy.
