He was a WWII Veteran of 8th Army Air Corps. He was employed by Ky Baptist Convention for 40 years as Director of Missions. He pastored numerous churches in Ky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Lois Cooper Shepherd; and a son, Samuel Vernon Shepherd,
Survivors include 2 children: Stephen Louis Shepherd, Antioch, TN. and Sherri Lois Shepherd, Louisville, Ky.
4 grandchildren: Stephen Louis Shepherd, II, Benjamin Lee Bruck, Laura Elizabeth Bruck, Emily Samantha Bruck
1 great grandchild: Shaden Eastwood
1 brother: Joseph Milton (Geneva) Shepherd, Columbia, Ky
niece: Valeria Bault, Cane Valley
nephew: Joseph Shepherd, Columbia
Funeral service for Rev. Louis Shepherd will be 12 Noon, Monday, August 10, 2015 at the Russell Springs First Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Withers, Bro. John C. Wilson, and Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating.
Visitation from 5:30 to 8 PM. Sunday at the church and after 10 AM. Monday at church.
Interment in the Smith Memorial Cemetery with full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard.
