
Born November 12, 1923, in Casey Co., KY, he was a son of the late Jonas “Joe” Bedon Thompson and Mary Belle Lawson Thompson. He was a former factory worker and feed mill worker. Mr. Thompson was also a farmer and a proud US Army World War II Veteran. He was a faithful member of the Hilltop Church of Christ.
Survivors include his dear wife, whom he wed on May 31, 1948, Juanita Poff Thompson; son, David (Jill) Thompson of Liberty; daughter, Brenda (Donald) Mason of Liberty; sister, Beulah Bussell of Lexington; and one granddaughter, Amanda Thompson of Lexington.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Phillip Thompson; brothers, Sylvester, Otha, and Obea Thompson; sisters, Ethel Thompson, Leathia Campbell, Oda Reeves, Opal Cochran, Martha Tarter, and Mary Luttrell.
Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Monday, April 18, 2016, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 10AM – 1PM on Monday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Ralph Thompson may be given to the Wounded Warriors Project.
