Phillip Stargel age 70 of the Millerfield Community of Adair County passed away Friday Sept. 11, 2015 at 6:48 PM at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville KY. 

He was born November 21, 1944 in Adair Co. KY the son of the late Gordon James Stargel and Delta (Goodin) Stargel besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jeffrey and Rodney Stargel and one sister Judith Ann Stargel 

Mr. Stargel is survived by his wife Faye Young Stargel of Columbia, KY 

These children survive, Isaac Stargel of Washington, Sheryl Corder and husband Rick of Parkers Lake, KY , William Kern of Chattanooga, TN, Cindy Steffan and husband Bryan of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Michael Harkey of Chattanooga, TN 

Survived by four sisters Marba Coomer and husband Albert of Ramsey, Indiana Wanda Stargel of Columbia, Sue Loy and husband Danny of Campbellsville, KY and Geneal Abrell and husband Charlie of Columbia, KY

Five grandchildren: DerRick Corder, JerRick Corder, BradLee Corder, Tyler Steffan, Jack Steffan and by four great grandchildren

Phillip was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam, a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the National Rifle Association

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Tarter Cemetery on Hwy 76 near the Adair and Russell County line. 

Clergy officiating: Bro. Dennis Roberts

Interment in the Tarter Cemetery with full military rites presented by VFW Post 6097 

There will be no visitation

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
