Opal Helm passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Casey County Hospital. She was 91.
Born June 25, 1924 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Maude Allen Witt. She was a cook for the Casey County Schools System and a member of the Liberty First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne (and Linda) Helm of Bronston, KY and Jerry (and Brenda) Helm of LaGrange, KY; a daughter, Sandra Martin of Liberty; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Wallace Witt of Somerset ; and two sisters, Berta Atwood of Cincinnati, Ohio and Ethel Taylor of Taylorsville, Illinois.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard “Dick” Lane Helm, who died March 18, 1989.
Funeral services are 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 5, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Brown officiating. Ms. Helm will be laid to rest Glenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
