Born March 19, 1922 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Owen L. Ellis and Minnie Henson Ellis. On July 9, 1947, she was united in marriage to Leland G. Rubarts.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leland G. Rubarts, who died September 11, 1974.
During World War II, Mrs. Rubarts worked in a map office in Louisville, KY, and then she returned to Casey County where she taught school for seven years at Red Hill. After leaving the pedagogical community, Mrs. Rubarts worked as a postal clerk at Dunnville, KY; Officer -in-Charge at Yosemite, KY; and postal clerk at Russell Springs, KY. She retired from the postal service in 1981 after thirty-one years of service.
Mrs. Rubarts was a member of the Dunnville Christian Church until 1968. She moved her membership to the Antioch Christian Church, where she attended until she was no longer able to do so. As a member of both churches, she played an active role, especially teaching Sunday school classes.
Survivors include her three children: Virginia Ann Rubarts of Dunnville, Judith Ellis Rubarts of Dunnville, and Leland G. Rubarts, II of Tennessee.
Memorial services are 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Antioch Cemetery with Virginia Ann Rubarts and Aaron Cain officiating.
