
She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, was a homemaker and farmer.
She united in marriage to James Donald "Don" Mitchell on July 15, 1946 who preceded her in death on March 13, 1998.
Survivors include a sister: Dorothy Shelley of Columbia; a nephew and niece: J.M. and Marla Shelley of Columbia; two great-nephews: John Marshall Shelley III and his wife, Jamie of Columbia, and Alex Shelley and his wife, Jessica of Taylorsville; four great-great-nephews: John Marshall Shelley IV of Lexington, Gabe, Jackson, and Seth Shelley all of Taylorsville; special friends: Pat and Judy Judd, Vernon and Sharon Cornett all of Greensburg, Pearl Wooldridge of Columbia, Cecil Haycraft of Leitchfield, and Gwen "Doc" Davis of Cumberland Co.; caregivers: Justine Morgan of Greensburg, Rita Parsons, and Heather Mars both of Campbellsville; her furry companion of 14 years, Susie Mitchell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Thompson Mitchell will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 3, 2016 the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery. Rev. Emma Nickel and David Givens will be officiating.
Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Thursday until time of the funeral service.
Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
