Merlie B. Molden, age 95, of Nancy, KY, departed this life on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehab.
Merlie was born on July 18, 1920 in Cain Store, KY, to the late George Mitchell and Eva Roy Rainwater. Merlie loved cooking for her family and doing crafts. She was also a member of White Oak Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse L. Molden; two sons, Billy (and Karen) Molden of Middletown, DE, Jimmy (and MaryBelle) Molden of Nancy, KY; a daughter, Josephine (and Jerry) Samply of Livingston, TN; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Rainwater, Woodrow Rainwater, Elbert Rainwater; four sisters, Edith Ivy, Marie Grider, Effie Roberts, Katherine Tarter; and two grandchildren, April Molden, and Ronald Sampley.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 7:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Stump officiating.
The family will hold a private graveside service on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland and/or Gideon Bible Memorial Fund.
