
Mary Lou was born in Monticello, KY to the late Oran and Mable Jones Richardson. She is a graduate of Monticello High School, studied Elementary Education in Florida for three and half years and was employed at Oakwood. She is a member of Spann Hill Baptist Church in Monticello, KY.
She is survived by her husband; Dormis “Cotton” Ard, who she married on January 26, 1985 in Faubush, three daughters; Shannon Janel Ard Smith of Somerset, Marta Gay Ard (and Michael) Farmer of Somerset, Melanie Brook Ard of Franklin, KY, nine grandchildren; Joshua Thomas “Cutter” (and Corina) Smith of Somerset, James “Caleb” Preston (and Julia) Lockhart of Franklin, KY, Rheale Barbour of Nashville, TN, Victoria “Tori” Elaine Smith of Somerset, Joshua Colin Thompson of Franklin, KY, Taylor Ryan Smith of Somerset, Jared Michael Farmer of Somerset, Caleigh Elizabeth Thompson of Franklin, KY, Erin Snow Farmer of Somerset, a great-grandchild; Millie James Lockhart of Franklin, KY, a brother in-law; Curtis Stearns of Monticello, and a host of nieces, nephews and several special friends.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister; Judy Stearns, and an aunt; Cora Jones.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 11:00am until 2:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Marcum and Bro. Paul Wilson to officiate. Burial will be in the Smiths Grove Cemetery in Faubush.
In lieu of flowers, the family request expressions of sympathy to be made to the Spann Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
