Mary Elizabeth Gehring was born December 22, 1935 and departed this life Wednesday, February 17, 2016 reaching the age of 80 years. She was the daughter of the late Henry Walter and Myrta (Rice) Elam.
She married Donald Parker Gehring and to this union three children were born.
She is survived by: her sons, Thom Gehring of Austin, TX and Johnny (Barbara) Gehring; Melinda Gehring of Monticello, KY; four grandchildren, Chad (Brooke) Gehring, Tye (Ashley) Gehring, Austin Gehring, and Megan (Knox) Bertram; five great grandchildren, Parker, Wilson, Peyton, Charlie, and Marlee Grace; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, Henry and Myrta Elam, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Donald Gehring; three brothers, Howard, Rex, and Wallace Elam; and one sister, Vida Elam.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 19, 2016 after 5pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2016 at 11am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Elk Spring Valley Baptist Adult Senior Ministry
