M. D. Shirley of Campbellsville, son of the late, Michael Daniel Shirley, Sr. and Nellie Mae Stinnett Shirley Durham, was born in Jefferson County, Kentucky, December 16, 1925. He died at 2:15 A.M., Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in Louisville. Age: 89 

He professed faith in Christ and was of the Christian Faith 
He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army with General Patton in Germany. 
He was a retired employee of Ford Motor Company. 
He was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. 

He united in marriage to Margaret Lane October 2, 1944. She preceded him in death August 30, 2011. 

He is survived by one son and three daughters: Michael Lane Shirley and wife, Earlene of Louisville, Maida Shines and Melinda D. Shirley of Campbellsville and Marcella Burress and husband, Leonard of Shepherdsville; seven grandchildren: Whitney Heath, Priscilla Barnes, Jennifer Adams, Amanda Birch, Jacob Noel, Hannah Shines Thompson and husband, Dillan, and Christina Shirley; one step-granddaughter, Sarah Young; eleven great-grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters: Henry Shirley, Charlie Shirley, George Shirley and Pete Jackson of Louisville, Michael D. Shirley of Ohio, Eva McDonald of Shepherdsville and JoAnn Ballou of Florida; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. 

VISITATION: After 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home 

FUNERAL SERVICE: 3:00 P.M., Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 
Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Bro. Dennis Penick and Bro. John Stilts 

Cremation will follow with a private burial in Beech Grove Baptist Church Cemetery 

EXPRESSIONS OF SYMPATHY SHOULD TAKE THE FORM OF DONATIONS TO GIDEON MEMORIAL BIBLES AND MAY BE MADE AT PARROTT & RAMSEY FUNERAL HOME
