Lucille (Baker) Taylor

Lucille (Baker) Taylor, of Louisville formerly of Columbia, KY, passed away on Friday February 19, 2016, at her home in Louisville, KY. 
She had recently celebrated her 90th birthday  (born August 31, 1925).

Lucille worked outside the home for many years, but her primary devotion was to family and church. 

She is preceded in death by parents Sam and Zora Baker; husbands Robert Gilpin and Blair Taylor; and siblings Robert Baker, Opal Denny and Clovis Baker. 

She is survived by three children - Jerry Gilpin (Carol) of Nashville, TN, Janet Fischer (Arty) of Prospect, KY, and Steve Taylor (Melina) of Louisville, KY;
eight grandchildren – David Gilpin (Meredith), Kate Moore (William), Austin Gilpin, Lucas Taylor,
Steffi Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Gregory Fischer and Jack Fischer;
two great-grandchildren – Claire Gilpin and Hank Gilpin;
one brother sibling Sammy (Nadine) Baker  of Columbia, KY
and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Wednesday, February 24th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pearson’s Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville,  KY.

The funeral service will be held at Beechwood Baptist Church, 201 Biltmore Rd, on Thursday, February 25th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 - 11 a.m. at the church. 

Burial with graveside service will follow at Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia, KY, at 1:30 p.m. CST.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to Beechwood Baptist Church.

The Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia in charge of local funeral arrangements
