Lowell was born on November 13, 1945 in Casey Co., Kentucky to his parents, the late Ira and Ola (Murphy) Lynn. He attended Wood High School in Indianapolis and received a degree in Pastoral Ministry from Union Bible College & Academy in Westfield. Lowell was also a preacher for over 20 years.
Lowell was retired as the owner and operator of L.D. Lynn Electrical & Mechanical Services in Plainfield. Prior to that, he worked as a supervisor for Max Katz Bag Company in Indianapolis.
Lowell attended the Gateway Chapel Bible Holiness Church in Martinsville, was member of the NRA and a proud Delegate for the Republican Party. He enjoyed reading his Bible, walking in the woods and was a collector of flashlights. Lowell enjoyed traveling and helping others. He worked many Missionary Trips and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Lowell is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gay Francis (Murray) Lynn, whom he married on October 20, 1962 in Trousdale, Tennessee. He is also survived by his children, Christina Hansel and Lowell D. (Jessica) Lynn Jr. both of Coatesville, Donald C. (Christine) Lynn of North Salem, Rachel (Thomas) Roach of Martinsville, John P. (Betty) Lynn of Plainfield, Jessie A. (Stacie) Lynn of Martinsville, Joseph A. Lynn of Plainfield and Lori D. (Buck) McKinney of Coatesville; siblings, Lois Beck of Louisville, KY, Geraldine Francis of Speedway and Gary (Netty) Lynn of Liberty, KY; 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lucille Neff and Donnie Lynn.
The Rev. Marcus Dodrill will conduct a funeral service on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Gateway Chapel Bible Holiness Church, 469 N. Marion St. in Martinsville, IN. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Wilson Cemetery in Liberty, Kentucky.
