Born August 14, 1930 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ervin Wesley Brown and Lidia Louise Lawhorn Brown. Louise raised her family in Ohio before moving back to Kentucky in 1979. Together with her husband, Lowell, they opened the Montgomery Ward store in Liberty and she continued to work at the store until it closed in 1985. She was a homemaker and former employee of Oshkosh. She was a member of the Newtonsville Baptist Church in Ohio. She loved to square dance and enjoyed camping.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Lowell Allen of Liberty, whom she married April 25, 1953; a son, Bryan Allen of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Avery Rubarts of Russell Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Steven Allen; two brothers, Earl and Ray Brown; and four sisters, Arlie Haggard, Gladys Propes, Stella Brown and Arnie Brown.
Funeral services are 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 28, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Brent Huggins officiating. Mrs. Louise Allen will be laid to rest in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
