He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Lou Millner, Cecilia Marie Abell (infant); three brothers, James Mark Abell, Charles Patrick Abell, Thomas Milton Abell.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Diana Mattingly Abell of Lebanon; daughter, Shelly (Clayton) Nichols of Owensboro; son, Todd (Raylyn) Abell of Lebanon; sisters, Shelia Rose (Paul) Williams of Mt. Washington, Libby (James) Barlow of Lebanon; brother, Fowler Abell, Jr. (Martha) of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Alex (Dustin) Powell, Zachary Abell, Cameron Nichols, Carter Nichols; great-grandson, Levi Powell.
Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 27, 2023 at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church. Interment to follow in St. Augustine Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service that will be held at 6:00 P.M., officiated by Deacon Joe Dant.
