Laverne E. Britt 86 of Glasgow died Sunday, March 8, 2015 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born at Bonayr, KY the daughter of the late Virgil D. and Maude Kinslow Elmore. Mrs. Britt was a caregiver and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Britt; 2 daughters Teresa D. Britt of Glasgow and Rita Britt-Johnson of Berea, KY; 2 sons Darrell Britt of Glasgow and Kevan D. Britt (Lisa) of Glasgow; 2 grandchildren Robin Thomas Bartley (Kelvin) and Monica Thomas Bledsoe (Brent); 4 great grandchildren Trevor Lee Bartley, Elli Thomas Bartley, Arianna Mills Bledsoe and Aidan Thomas Bledsoe; 1 brother Paul D. Elmore (Bonnie) of Bowling Green; 2 sisters Frances Davis (Richard) of Nashville and Betty Powell of Glasgow. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Louise Elmore and 5 brothers Harry, Bobby, Jewell, Truman and Roma Elmore.
Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday, March 12th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 3pm Wednesday.
